- Saturday afternoon drive along the Gardiner Expressway. I've gotten a number of requests for this so here you go! What do you want to see? I always take note of locations you all request. Enjoy!
Toronto is an international centre of business, finance, arts, and culture, and is recognized as one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities in the world. Toronto is the most populous city in Canada, with a population of 2.7 million, with a metropolitan population of 5.9 million, making it Canada's most populous metro area.
The city is home to the Toronto Stock Exchange, the headquarters of Canada's five largest banks, and the headquarters of many large Canadian and multinational corporations. Its economy is highly diversified with strengths in technology, design, financial services, life sciences, education, arts, fashion, business services, environmental innovation, food services, and tourism.
Toronto is a prominent centre for music, theatre, motion picture production, and television production, and is home to the headquarters of Canada's major national broadcast networks and media outlets. Its varied cultural institutions, which include numerous museums and galleries, festivals and public events, entertainment districts, national historic sites, and sports activities, attract over 25 million tourists each year. Toronto is known for its many skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, in particular the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, the CN Tower.

The Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway, commonly known as the Gardiner Expressway, is a municipal expressway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, running close to the shore of Lake Ontario.
The condition of the highway has deteriorated over the years. The highway has been described as "an out-of-date, crumbling and frequently traffic-jammed freeway." Extensive repairs became necessary in the early 1990s, and significant commercial and residential development has occurred in the core. As a result of these, the Gardiner has been the subject of several proposals to demolish it or move it underground as part of downtown waterfront revitalization efforts. A section east of the Don River was demolished in 2001. The City of Toronto commissioned a study of possible options (keep, demolish, reconstruct) for the segment east of Jarvis Street to the Don River and City Council voted in June 2015 to rebuild the section.

It’s going to be pretty awesome if in like 60 years these videos are still up.

Toronto is so futuristic! Thanks for showing us this beautiful city !
And Its also the Safest City The Safest In NORTH America I Love CANADA.
Futuristic??? Hahahahaha. Toronto is a disgusting jumble of hideous glass towers and road infrastructure that is 60 years old. It used to be awesome with beautiful landmark buildings, but greedy developers and politicians ruined this place.
@@cdb5001 But Seroiusly I Love CANADA.
@@chuks051 lol tell him
@@chuks051 Canada is great. Toronto user to be, but it sucks now.
Would absolutely LOVE to see a night video of the downtown core - all those streets bound by Queen, Spadina Yonge and the water. I especially love THESE videos that have no hood of the car - so it's all just a view of the cities. Spectacular.
I did a video a few years back of going west along Danforth from Kingston to Jarvis then south on Jarvis to Front at like 5am.
@@HeadlessChickenTO Cool - checking out your page now... but got distracted by the tomato sauce recipe.
The slow traffic reminds me of the Grand Central in New York. Rush hour is a crawl fest!!
Gorgeous city views
I hope to see more of Canada! like Montreal and Calgary
@J Utah, Just curious have you spotted any Acura CSX's on these recorded journeys? Only in Canada can you spot this beautiful yet elusive Acura CSX which was only in production from 2006 to 2011. Ugh... a shame...
Gg
@@daxydaxy9736 omg i see those everyday here in toronto. my neighboor even has one
@@mdrahman7464 Really? So lucky. It's the closest we'll ever get to an FD civic chassis vehicle at least here in North AMerica and usa get shafted from having one. I know tons who would pay a fortune to see 1!!
Edmonton!
i miss Toronto, thank you so much for the video
Thank you! Beatiful Toronto
The Gardiner Expressway reminds me of the elevated I-10 in New Orleans at rush hour.
Beautiful video. Missed driving on this expressway, especially the downtown section.
I’ve been to NYC and I like Toronto so much more. It’s so much more clean and organised, one of my favourite cities in North America.
Cool. Where do you live?
It's more organized and clean because there are roughly 6000 people less per KM squared
I went to toronto and nyc in June 2019. I loved toronto and I loved Canada, but I preferred NYC slightly more.
@@ryankhja2646 Yeah, it's got so much more going on, truly feels like a global city. Toronto is amazing, but NYC is just another tier.
@@syed2194 that's what I felt like. Going to Toronto I liked the vibes and the diversity but NYC was just a step up from anything I have ever seen before, and I have been to SF and LA. fully agree w you
Toronto, Ontario is growing like crazy, cranes everywhere.
Fastest-growing city in N. America ;-)
@@tommyenergy Yep
Its crazy how this is a whole different country from the US but the two have so much in common
Driving on the expressway is a great idea. I want more of these videos.
It's very gorgeous city I want to visit Canada someday , It's one of my favourite countries , the city gives me peace of mind.
Que ciudad tan hermosa, me gusta como se ve el clima, se ve que es frio y las carreteras y el trafico muy organizado
What a beautiful city, I like how the weather is there, it seems it's kinda cold, and the streets, the roadsides and traffic is very organized 🙌🏻
Nice! Thanks for sharing 😊👍🏼
Super cool video 👌 enjoyed watching and also i can't wait for my trip to Toronto this August ☺
Great driving video... thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the amazing trip
Toronto is a place which I like so much and hope to see that in future
Looks good on an overcast day. Thanks for the views.
Que Cidade Futurística, Organizada.
Though its a bit early to ask, but do make a video of this beautiful city in autumn, with the colorful trees and all ! Love your videos !!!
That's the Toronto I know: Crawling along at a snail's pace on the Gardiner in a city where they constantly say they want to raise the speed limit... like it would make a difference. Love the video though, and would love to see a night drive of these same routes.
And here is another quality & calm video. It is helping me to sleep too :)

It is nice.
Toronto is the most beautiful city in Canada🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦💕💕❤✨😍
Vancouver: Sit down you clown!
Amazing City, Hoping to visit it one day :D

Nice drive!
Love this! Know it fairly well, -I live here!
Beautiful Downtown Toronto.
That’s my city. The 6ix City ❤️. This wonderful city is what I call home 🙂
Same 🥂
my future living city
Thats a huge city. Never thought there was that many highrises. Sure has changed since the 90s.
Please do not call it the 6ix.
The Big Smoke !
Thanks for upload videos
Thanks for road tour : )
Great city ❤️
Linda cidade😀
Damn, I live an hour away and haven't been to T.O in a few years. Its changed a lot, changing fast too.
Wow nice road😮
one of these videos of skyline at night or during autumn during the leaves changing colours would be sick thanks and please )* and for some reason Toronto been sunny almost everyday but some of latest videos always catch it on a grey day lol
So many beautiful cities with so much attention to detail. With us in Germany the cities are neglected. No wonder I get wanderlust, haha :D
Nice video !
the first minute is a good shot of the suicide barrier installed over the Bloor viaduct. Notorious place for people to jump of the bridge. I like what they did with the bridge though, the lights look nice at night.
Good day and to chose you didn’t hit much traffic:)
here from drive and listen!!
Oh !!! Toronto city very beautiful from: Lao PDR
They need elevated high speed trains. Those track cars must go.
What's a "track car"?
The street cars are iconic to Toronto, that’s like saying get rid of the street cars in San Francisco, it’s part of the culture. No way.
I agree. New York City and Chicago got rid of their trolleys. Toronto and Philadelphia should do the same.
Not Sure so Berlin, Prague, Melbourne, Vienna, Dresden, Amsterdam etc. should too? You Americans need to get out more.
@@notsure6187 What do you replace them with? end of the day its too much inconvenience, construction nightmare in the city.
Love you Toronto
Been on that highway a million times I don't even know why I'm watching this.
Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway are municipal expressways connecting downtown Toronto.
What's cooler to drive? *The 401!!!* Well, except it's North America's busiest highway and it's filled with thousands of vehicles. Even the express lanes too.
🌟May I ask what kind of a mount do you use for the camera?
Lmaooo weird video but lowkey I like it 😂
Love Toronto! Great video. Where did you mount your camera?
I love ❤️ Toronto ❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
You’re videos are always lit 🔥💯👌🏻
I would love to see a 4K drive in Winnipeg 🇨🇦
Please advise which camera is this- I’ve the Blackvue 4K and unsure my video looks like this ! Thanks
33:00-40:00 to cherry beach is my typical bike route on the bike lane. But I missed all summer of 2019 with a torn ankle tendon =(
Omg definitely coming for college
Nice , what camera do you use?
This video would have been incredible if you shot it at night. The view and the skyline coming both ways on the Gardiner are spectacular, plus you can actually drive instead of sitting in Toronto Traffic.
rcanada is great country so I love ths country 🇨🇦 😗
A beautiful city on a beautiful road!! the best video.
from Japan.
I think the road width is wider than Korea. I'll take a good look👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hello. Great channel. I love your movies. Thanks to you, I can get to know America better. Maybe you would have recorded a movie such periphery, outskirts, some areas outside of the city. I greet Poland

@@stephenolan5539 Oh, sorry, I commented badly because most of the films the author has from the USA. And here in fact Canada. I wrote such a general commentary to the author and not directly to this video.
@@beatak80 Same to you Beata. 🙂
Oh look, the Gardiner. Oh surprise surprise, bumper to bumper...LoL
Only time I ever use that mess is if I have to head out way west of the city or Niagara Falls, it the occasional inlaw pickup at the bus terminal or Billy Bishop. Accessing downtown and the core via DVP/Gardiner is just painful.
Ever been to San Francisco and the Bay Bridge?
@@beentheredonethat8280
A couple times as tourists. No traffic either times, going down Lombard st in the other hand...
@@HeadlessChickenTO You’re lucky. I’ve been stuck at I80 just around Berkeley at rush hours on a regular basis.
@@beentheredonethat8280
Gardiner through Toronto downtown core is 2 actual travel lanes for a good 25-30km. A 3rd lane opens and closes as it turns into an exit and entrance ramp. Even outside of rush hour, its busy but even worse now as there's been constant construction for the last 3 years on the eastern end. I believe they're rebuilding the on and off ramps.
It would be nice to see you record in São Paulo,a true metropolis
fernando carvalho Yeah...because Toronto is a small village on a lake

Good video but I wish you went in the opposite direct on the Gardiner, it's so much more dramatic when entering the city
About 8 month ago, I did a driving on Gardiner expressway from highway 427 to downtown Toronto, the view of entering city is very dramatic.
Maybe remind him not to do the 401, I one hundred percent bet that no one will watch it.
❤️❤️❤️✊❤️
1000th like
Thank you!! :D
What's with the huge netting along the sides of the bridge in the opening minute? Is that to stop people jumping off or what?
yes
Yeah, someone almost jumped from a bridge which caused the subway (as it passes through there), highway, and the roads on the bridge. It was also during rush hour
Which car is this?
toronto!
Nice watching this while eating my Taco
The Gardiner Expressway or QEW is the name of that expressway. Hardly an expressway any more, rather Stop and Go traffics 24/7
Not technically 24/7
My people city
Toronto is that cool....One city I should tour... at 5:58 it looks amazing lol
the view of the city is much better going from the other direction though. it's the most dramatic view from an expressway you can get
It is!
8:30 is this allowed? It's so odd
No but Toronto has the dumbest ride drivers
In many cases you have no choice to avoid it. I always let other drivers do it if ther is no cutting you in a last second. There are a lot a lot line's confusions and road constructions.
@@torguy5763 dumbest drivers? In all videos of Driving in Canada, i found that all the people are so disciplined while driving... Yeah there maybe 2 to 3 idiots but i never saw them in any videos...
Actually it's one of my dream to drive around Canada as a tourist.. 😅
@@ukisbeggar8462 WTF man? Are you kidding me? Toronto and area has got some of the most idiotic drivers in the whole world. And don't get me started with Brampton and the 410 and the 401. No one respects the rules. It's like a battlefield out there. There is a high road rage incidents here. Everyone is out for themselves and nobody cares about you. Don't get fooled by those lame videos.
@@ukisbeggar8462
Every first snow of the season brings hundreds upon hundreds of fender benders.
When you get a green light do not rush into the intersection. Toronto is bad for people running the yellow and catching a piece of the red.
Around the world when the count down timers were added to cross walk lights, pedestrian fatalities when down.
When they were added to Toronto, fatalities went up.
Do Los angeles again!
You finished the video when the real part started , the main down town I mean .
I am from Europe but I want to visit Toronto so badly. Btw I am from Berlin and the CN tower reminds of the Fernsehturm (TV tower) in Berlin
Well hopefully you can come to Toronto. It's an amazing city, I lived here my whole life.
Don't know why UA-cam keeps recommending videos of luxury homes in Toronto. Now it's recommending drive throughs of Toronto.😐
I wanna move there so bad
