- Driving from YYZ Airport to Downtown Toronto ending at Yonge Dundas Square. Canada 😎. Toronto is the capital of the Canadian province of Ontario and the most populous city in Canada. It's located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario and forms part of the border between Canada and the United States.

Toronto is the fourth-most populous city in North America, with a population of 2,794,356 in 2021. It's also the biggest city in Canada, covering a landmass of about 243 square miles.
Toronto is known for its skyscrapers, which are limited to its Financial District. It's also a theater capital of the English-speaking world.
Toronto is a walkable city with lots of parks, waterfront boardwalks, and infrastructure for pedestrians. Shops, restaurants, and other amenities are within easy walking distance.
The cost of living in Toronto is 27.8% less expensive than in New York. The average price of a 7-day trip to Toronto is $1,543 for a solo traveler, $2,771 for a couple, and $5,195 for a family of 4.
These are ideal driving conditions. Clear summer day and light traffic. Doing this drive at rush hour or in a winter storm is a whole other experience.
The video would be like 2 hours long lol
Fantastic trip! Enjoyed this immensely. Looking forward to your next work of art! :🙂😍👍
The contrast between the road quality of highways and city streets is interesting.
City roads are managed by the city of Toronto, and they are in deep debt, while the highways are managed by the province of Ontario.
@@potterworld1468 The Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway are also managed by the City of Toronto, which has been forced upon Toronto and cost's hundreds of millions of dollars a year to maintain. The province wouldn't even let Toronto demolish it if it to chose to, despite it taking away hundreds of millions of dollars away from other important services.
think chow will change that
Toronto's bad roads are somewhat of a local punchline too
Was a Torontonian once
They don't have debt. They're just in a budget shortfall. The Gardiner alone is projected to take up over 50% of the transportation budget for the next 5-6 years, because the Province decided to pass it off to the city in the 1990s.@@potterworld1468
I absolutely loved my time in Toronto. This is where I felt freedom. Australian cities don't feel the same.
Nice driving, good to see other parts of the world !
Thank you for posting this precious video.🙆🙆🙆
Your videos are an inspiration to me! Big hug! 🙋🏻♂️
It’s insane driving through Toronto, this guys video makes it look easy lol
Nice driving tour👍
Those drives down the Gardiner towards downtown never get old
Either way you enter the Gardiner heading east on the highway, the view is mind blowing. And every time the view changes. I like these videos because they remind me of the mid 90's when I first saw it in person.
Looks awesome
Nice city Toronto ,Canada good driving and see it Thank you
As someone thats lived in toronto for the past 3 years, I passively avoid the gardener and that part of southern TO for this very reason. Traffic is insufferable and pedestrians can jaywalk whenever and wherever.
The construction downtown right now is BRUTAL as well.
Chill crusing. Loving it 🍃
Coming into the city from the west like this is nice, but coming in from the DVP from the east is also quite nice with the winding highway through the ravine system that takes you in.
yep. i did that video years ago on christmas eve. its a great view. i think it was my first time in toronto too!
Beautiful city
Beautiful

Very nice ❤
Nice view of the CN tower as it slowly comes into view 👍

I haven't been able to record this much time in a row with such high resolution, due to overheating. Talking with an action camera.

Wow Canada is beautiful 😍
It may be beautiful but it’s unaffordable 😂
Most of Canada doesn't look like this lol
Just Toronto city that's all, All Canada is not beautiful.
@@shiningstone6771 Quebec City is probably the most beautiful city in the Americas, there are many beautiful areas of Canada, its a massive country.
Beautiful Toronto very good! Can somebody tell which car brand is on 2:05 left black car?

Remembering this same trip after 13 years ❤. Thanks for posting.
The same for me 👍 ... In my case, it was 10 years ago.
Nice video! Will you drive in Montréal too? 😊
💪💪💪
Would have been half the time on the UP Express and Line 1, and you'd have gotten some exercise too.
*Love TORONTO*
Trying to drive through downtown Toronto must be so frustrating, I don't get why anyone thinks it's a good idea. You did it for your channel & I thank you for that, but I can only conclude that all these other daft motorists must love to torture themselves. hah
Americans think they can drive through downtown Toronto like it's some desolate American city.
@@TheTroyc1982Toronto, is in Canada. How are there AMERICANS driving through it? Doofus
@@TheTroyc1982at this point it is acceptable to call Toronto a desolate American city. It is chaotic, corrupt, mismanaged, and crumbling. It is desolate in mindset, awareness, and initiative.
@@jacobsmith5543, we just got ourselves a new mayor; what's your damage, guy?
@@Neville60001 I'm baffled at how she got elected. Proof our city is in shambles.

I love Canada 🇨🇦
yep!
Please do a Montreal Video and a Vancouver video to see the clnstrast between the cities!
Montreal is limiting cars and is # 1 in the world for sustainibility with the best public transport and largest urban parks in Canada .... you cannot compare a USA car city destroying the planet like Toronto ....
30:16-This is right where I live (Jarvis & Esplanade.)
painting the roads would improve it quite a bit. city is more gritty than i was expecting
we got other problems lmao
*Painting* the roads? Like Picassos and Rembrandts? I assume you meant *paving* lol 😂
There is literally zero grit in this video.
@@TheTroyc1982the roads are trash making the city look messy and dirty
@@citibear57 that could be amazing :) what a great idea!

It is good to see the Toronto skyline is finally starting to catch up with Calgary City Centre.
whats up man? are the masks already coming back?

Toronto is considerably larger than Calgary.
Love seeing this guy under every Toronto video talking about Calgary's "bigger/better" skyline 💀💀

Hey bro, none of my driving videos look as good as yours. Can you please tell me what type of camera you are using and what type of mount you are using on your dashboard....
My favorite video of yours is the one in downtown Mexico City.
I like how in Toronto they don't have a lot of annoying, big, ugly billboards.
It's a concrete jungle but I have always liked Toronto!
Filmed with what kind of camera?
CANADA 🇨🇦
AMERICA 🇺🇸
Lovely city,,,,,,,,,,, loved those glass coated skyscrappers and billboards❤,,,,,,,,,but got shocked by road conditions in some places,,,,,,,,, too much of cracks 😢,,,,,,,are these because of very cold climate Or they are just a result of heavy traffic load? 🤔
Heavy traffic
Heavy traffic and not enough roads. Toronto is not a very snowy city compared to other places.
The condition of those concrete pillars holding up the elevated highway from 25:30 is concerning. Do you know if there are known issues with this highway and calls for refurbishment/replacement? The state of road infrastructure in North America is quite shocking it seems, no one seems to want to take responsibility on the upkeep and they are allowed to deteriorate. We have a similar type elevated highway that runs alongside the city centre of my home Brisbane, Australia and about 10 years ago they closed the whole thing because they found a "hairline crack" in one of the supports and ran all these tests and made sure it was safe before reopening. Infrastructure in Australia, generally speaking, at least in the cities, just seem to be looked after very well
The outer layer of concrete on such structures is mostly cosmetic, like plaster on the walls of a house. It doesn't directly affect the structural integrity so that part isn't really concerning. But yes, it's getting old and needs a lot of maintenance and having exposed rebar can lead to increased corrosion over time.
That said, there has long been talk of tearing down the highway because it costs so much to maintain it. There is currently a $1.5 billion revitalization plan underway which many people oppose since it would be much cheaper to replace it with a ground level boulevard. Aside from cost, some also find the highway an eyesore for people on the ground.
Yes, the Gardiner Expressway will gradually be rehabilitated over the course of this decade, some sections have already been rehabilitated. I think the reason why its been left to neglect was because of ongoing debates whether to keep or demolish it, but it seems like the majority of politicians and Torontonians want to keep the highway.
@@canadiandude24 if they demolish it, it will cause major traffic to the already traffic we have here. However, it will open up downtown and probably make it look better.
@@JoeyToronto Yes!
@@Nouvellecosse When you can see the iron from the reinforced concrete then it's a clear sign of bad condition, you can see it at 26:27

nice, what car did you use?
Sounds like your car is struggling😂
good looking city, but asphalt pavement is poor ... is it due to cold snowy winter ?
Probably, Montreal is even worse. But Vancouver with warmer winters has pretty good roads, I've been there
Ha, I live at 25:58 mark right side.
How did you like Toronto? And was it very different from American cities? Wanna travel there one day but I am reading so many negative comments about it online (mostly by people who live there)
it is worth checking out for a few days, but it isn't super interesting as a tourist compared to other global cities. it is a boomtown for sure, but it doesn't have a strong identity like you find in Chicago or New York. I think it still needs time to grow and develop its own culture
I recommend that you visit Montréal instead. That city, like New York, has character. You will find a totally different culture (Québecois), another language (French), and this city is the most European feeling of the North American cities, full of cultural events.
Toronto in my opinion, is a a generic North American city. It has no charm.
@@Mereo110 Quebec city is more European feeling than Montreal however. You say Toronto is generic but no other city in North America looks of feels like it or has demographics like it either.
@@DD-ws6cu hat's so interesting about Chicago over Toronto than the murder rate?
@@TheTroyc1982 I should have said one of the biggest North American cities, because yes, Quebec City has the most European feeling.
It's true that Toronto is unique in its own way, but I think tourists will enjoy Montreal more because it's quite different from the rest of the North American cities. P.S. I do not live in either city, but I have visited them many times.
What a nice city!
It's a joke? The city may look nice only for a tourist, foreigner or outsider.Toronto is a very uncomfortable city to live in and thanks to uncontrolled construction of highrises everywhere and the massive cutting-out of trees for future soulless 35-50 stories buildings the city became quite a dump, an asphalt and concrete jungle in the worst sense of the world. And I am not saying about crime, poverty, drug and even homeless crises in the city.
@@warden9876 Toronto is the 4th largest city on the continent after Mexico City, NYC and LA. All massive cities have those problems. Toronto still ranks above all those cities for quality of life.
I honestly thought this was going to be about Rush.

It feels like NYC but a lot smaller and less skyscrapers
Parts of Toronto and the surrounding area definitely look and feel like NYC in some ways. A lot of movie sets will shoot in DT Toronto and portray it as NYC

Toronto's Roads look worse than NewYorks , the winters must be really harsh on them
Winter in Toronto is actually milder than in most of New York State thanks to the lake. A lot of it is because the city has to maintain two expensive albatrosses in the Gardiner and DVP, which eat a ton of the budget.
Im pretty sure that toronto is slightly milder than new york@@NebulonRanger
