All the home DIYers owes this dude some cred, because 10 years ago there wasn't alot of videos showing other ways to doing metal work. Now that there are tons of vids, I've gotten the chance to do alot of different methods in the metal work and adopted what works best for yourself. Creds to doing the hardest panels or projects gives you the best education.
Chris, been loving these new instructional/educational videos you're posting lately. Is definitely going to help me with my "new to me" '70's Tradesman van. THANKS!
Please please please can u do more vlogs on your channel I miss watching u work on car's and i bet a lot of people miss u to love your channel and car's that u work on ...fantastic job and amazing thanks...
For our 68 Roadrunner built we center punched the spot welds and used the „crown style“ spot weld cutter. With the center punch the bit will not walk and stay centered. Greetings from Germany 🤙🏽
I know why we don't see much content from you. You don't need it. Your work and knowledge is great and keeps you busy. Miss your fun and entertaining content though.
Your a hard man to get ahold of. Wanted to pay you to do some metal work on my 68 charger but also help with it because I would love to learn what you do so I can pass this set of skills down to my son who also has an old classic car we are working on. I promise I’m not a crazy person just desperate cause I can’t find a living soul in Arizona to help me with my 68 charger. Obi Wan you’re my only hope!!!!!
Hay bud I know they’re not cheap but the 3m cubitron 11 purple fill belt are the best last 3 times as long I use the 80 grit all the best from New Zealand.
Thanks for tips. This is the one job I have always hated. Good tools that makes it easier is huge bonus. 68 Charger RT is waiting for new rear metal and teardown...
Nice video, full of good information. I found an automatic center punch made enough of a divot to keep the spot weld cutter from walking out. I also found the seam buster too girthy and it mangled the piece I'm trying to save. I use a Richard 10" Pry Bar and Scraper to bust apart the panels. Just my experience. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Chris, where have you been buddy, your a wealth of knowledge, and we loved watching you rebuild these cars, I have not noticed any new fabricating videos, i`m following rustbucket on the cuda fab, and all the new panels going on, is that the bahama mama road runner your working on? I know the move must have taken a lot of your time, but we sure miss the fabricating videos, and all the precise panel fitting and tweeking, great video, i`m still subbed and can`t wait for some new videos.
Great video chris, but we need to no whats going on with your fleet ,whats going on with the new house and shop. Also whats next . All the best Danny uk 🇬🇧
Great Advice Chris! When Dealing with Rusty/Thin Metal- I Like to grind each weld with the Die Grinder/Cut Off Disc and PEEL the Metal Off Like A Sardine Can!
I can say I learned something here! I did a floor in my Bee but didn't have the belt sander. I have one now. I did use the Blair weld cutter and it did take awhile. I'm gonna make me a weld splitter from my old lawn mower blade too! I'll be better prepared for the 71 Demon I have to do!
Hey Chris, didn't know you had moved. Hopefully your neighbors aren't as close as they were in that cul-de-sac house you had. If you would send me a link on that seam buster.
uJst found you. Great info and a few things I haven't thought about in over 35 years of rusty cars up here in Michigan, a poster child state for rusty crusty cars. Ever consider using a plasma cutter in some scenarios?? Nice video, down and dirty real world not those produced television shows, LOL...
This was a nice insight but don't abandon your regular format. Wish you would have had time to explain how you prep rusty panels before priming. Looks like the new digs are working out well !
Thanks, watching you has inspired me over the years. just got done stitching the whole back half of a 74 RR onto a 74 Satellite that had been rear ended years ago. Good tools help develop good technique. Its worth it, they will never build them again
Blaire spot weld cutters aren't cheap up here in Canada. I think over $50 for a set of 3 heads, at a paint supply shop. Found some cheap spot weld hole saws kits, they work, but don't last. Might be because the 57 D 100 has some beefy spot welds on the tailgate.
Great stuff Chris . I'm a autobody guy did 3 years course at a technical institute . I work on vehicles at home and do my own fabercations . currently working on 65 dodge dart and 65/66 plymouth valiant but love B-body cars as well chargers 😎💪🔧🏁
those "spot weld cutter" drill bit are just wood drill bits with a shorter center pin of course did they not work. btw. did ye cut apart the banana top road runner? (saw quater in the background)
How about a pneumatic punch to do pilot holes on flange spot welds rather than a pilot bit. Just a thought. Although two layers might be asking a bit much. Thanks for real world demo.
Definitely need a center punch to keep those spot weld cutters from walking. An air chisel works wonders to for separating seems. Just gotta be careful.
Crazy to think that the vin and tag is worth more than anything else... sort of like some houses in my area where they will save one wall of the house, build a new house around it and call it a remodel.
That's some great tool porn you're showing there, I roll with Milwaukee M18 but I got me one of those Kawasaki drills too, I buy them broken and fix them you can never have enough power tools, it makes your life so much easier.
I cought an episode of roadkill garage that you were on when you worked on the wrecked router when you put the new quarter panel on it you was calling it a C body the sea body cars are the New Yorkers Polaras Newports Plymouth fury, and the 300unless I’m mistaken which I’m doubting that because I have a big c body
Cool Chris , the sand one work's best on newer car's, but I will get some more tools at a later date, still working on my Rav4 soon hopefully I can get it back on the road , then do some motor bike to sell for more tools and a project car in future, and looking forward to your other videos 👍🏽
sorry for video delays guys, been super busy for along time and have videos i still need to edit
No problem with the delays, how's the Chevelle coming along?
It's okay, don't really expect regular videos from you.
That's because you're a big TV Star now on Roadkill!!😜😜
JK with you buddy!!
@@dsc420247🤣Us peasants don't matter anymore😂
Didn’t you guys just have a baby? Take your time.

45 years at this stuff, being totally dialed in on the best way to accomplish these jobs is such a huge asset !
I have absolutely loved this channel for years now. Such solid work and know-how.
Chris, been loving these new instructional/educational videos you're posting lately. Is definitely going to help me with my "new to me" '70's Tradesman van. THANKS!
Thank you for getting back on the body work that's my favorite part
Thanks Chris, don't forget to warn the people about protection hearing, vision and breathing.

Welcome back, glad you got an early release. Stay clean!
Thanks man for the good information. I've been doing it wrong, Thanks for setting me straight.
I know why we don't see much content from you. You don't need it. Your work and knowledge is great and keeps you busy. Miss your fun and entertaining content though.
About to gut the entire floor out of my C body wagon, super useful stuff. Beats learning it the hard way.
So good to watch your educational content again. Not sure if I've watched since the General Mayhem. 😢

Tools of trade and how to use awesomeness 👌 thanks a bunch
Use your whiz wheel to sharpen the seam splitter. Thanks for another video.

Great information Chris.
You're a real Pro.
Nice explanation for all of the use of tools.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Ed.
Great job Chris I just finished pulling a Cuda down to this point can't wait to start putting the new pieces on.
Learned a lot off this video thanks for the teaching

Hello Chris ,

Great to avoid wasting time with eventual experiences that could end on disastures situations.
Thanks Chris.
Great video chris, but we need to no whats going on with your fleet ,whats going on with the new house and shop. Also whats next . All the best Danny uk 🇬🇧
Bigger back yard, trees and birds singing, that outdoor work area is rocking.
great video, keep them coming

✌ Hey Birdsong, Exactly how many spotwelds 🤣 Thanks
Yes love you're videos 👍😎

Yes!!!!!!!!! A new video!!!!!!!!!

Would a center punch work for a hole starter for those bits that like to walk?
Nice to see you back Chris! How's the new digs?
Great content!!
those "spot weld cutter" drill bit are just wood drill bits with a shorter center pin
of course did they not work.
btw. did ye cut apart the banana top road runner? (saw quater in the background)
Hey man love the videos very helpful, 👍👍was wondering I got a 72 4 door satellite will the front frame rails work for a 72 Cuda 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️thx
How about a pneumatic punch to do pilot holes on flange spot welds rather than a pilot bit.
Just a thought. Although two layers might be asking a bit much.
Thanks for real world demo.
Drill bit is ok for Hard to reach & I use is call Spot Annihilator Best Tool to Use & I Love It!! && Ten Times Faster!!
Nice vid. I was wondering if you cut both or just one side.
Love your videos man
Great vid
I'll admit I do very few spot welds, but the air belt sander I have runs way faster than the electric one. May help go quicker
To prevent the spot weld cutter skipping I put them on that spring loaded pin and use a center punch. 3 taps and she won't walk if you keep it flat.

8:40. That's why center punches were invented.
Where have you been? Looks like you made us miss you.....
We missed you,,let's get busy,,
Just started this process, timely video for me . Had to order 69 quarter because 70 coronet ones aren’t available 😑
Hey Chris how's the Malibu coming? When you get to a point how bout a brief update on the old girl??
You do great work, just too bad you like the worst cars LOL.. someones gotta save em though eh? Thanks for the tips!
That's ok with me, I can't afford them anyways. 😅
Cris,,,,the sideburns. RULE!!!@@,,,porkchops...
very good video. But 2 years late for me. thank god i am at assembly now.
Professionally said , I will say that it is a fact.
Is Patina out of action (broken)?
Tearing it down is the easy part.
Wow. You sure have cleared out the back yard... 😮
You know he moved, right
Chris, you've always needed four more things to do.
I see you go thru a Lotta drills. Get a drill doctor to ReSharper those worn out drills
You can get a M12 right angle die grinder to replace your air tool. I've got one its a game changer, so much quieter, no stupid air hose. PN#2485-20
Is it possible to buy your sub frame connecters sent to New York 14701 or get the specs to make my own
Sharpen that seam buster with bench grinder. Squeeze more life from it
The drill bit spot weld cutter. Lol. You used to bitch me out about going thru that crap steel. LMAO
Cool Chris , the sand one work's best on newer car's, but I will get some more tools at a later date, still working on my Rav4 soon hopefully I can get it back on the road , then do some motor bike to sell for more tools and a project car in future, and looking forward to your other videos 👍🏽
I'm no body man, but can't you use a spring-loaded hole punch first to stop your bits from walking.
That looks like Daisy…… am I mistaken or is she finally getting a new lease on life?? Or that’s not her at all and I’m way off base
Not daisy
