    This is so helpful! I had gestational diabetes and managed my sugars which resulted in a healthy baby; however, I went back to an unhealthy diet which caused a fatty liver, high cholesterol, prediabetes, etc. my question is: what protein source is best if I’m allergic to soy? I've been low carb for 2 years. I feel awesome, and my entire set of metabolic panel numbers are awesome. There is need for carbs, but I eat one whole granny smith apple a day and I eat a couple of ramekins full of berries per day, and my carbs are around 50-70g/day. I hit a ketone level of 2 each day because I combine that relatively low level of carbs with 18/6 fasting. I have 7% body fat.
    I am LMHR and I specifically add those carbs in order to attenuate the LMHR response and bring my ApoB down.

      1. Don't eat any fructose
      2. Don't consume meat
      3. Never use mouthwash
      4. Don't brush teeth every day, every second day is fine if you don't eat fructose or meat
      5. When you do brush your teeth *never* use an antibacterial toothpaste
      If you follow those recommendations you'll never have halitosis. Halitosis is what happens when fructose metabolizing bacteria are overpopulated.

    It would be great if you spoke to your audience about the reason why saturated fat causes insulin resistance. The first time I heard it it made complete sense to me. It was an aha moment.

    • @homomorphic
      @homomorphic Місяць тому +8

      Saturated fat is not causal for insulin resistance. Saturated fats are metabolically neutral (it neither aggravates nor mitigates insulin resistance or other metabolic disorders).
      Dr. Liu, while absolutely correct on almost every other aspect of metabolic health that she covers, is absolutely incorrect about this. The fact of saturated fats metabolic neutrality has been demonstrated conclusively in hundreds of studies.

    • @StancyTalk
      @StancyTalk Місяць тому +4

      @ wow, do you research. Epidemiological evidence and intervention studies clearly show that in humans saturated fat significantly worsen insulin-resistance, while monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids improve it through modifications in the composition of cell membranes which reflect at least in part dietary fat composition.

    • @StancyTalk

      @StancyTalk no it isn't. Epidemiological studies only show that people who eat diets high in saturated fat, have high rates of metabolic dysfunction, but that says nothing about saturated fats. Anyone who has even so much as a bachelor's degree in any STEM field will understand why.

    On the one hand you point out that the liver will produce glucose via gluconeogenesis and no exogenous glucose is required, then you make the statement that you need exogenous glucose (this is inaccurate as it has been long established that exogenous glucose is not required).
    There is no evidence that exogenous glucose is harmful (in reasonable quantities) but it is an absolute, long established fact that exogenous glucose is not *required* by the human organism. By the very definition of the term, glucose is not an essential nutrient as it can be synthesized endogenously in adequate quantities by the body.
    We need to separate how the body operates from what a good diet is. No one (other than crackpots) thinks that if the human body doesn't require a nutrient be obtained exogenously, that exogenous sources shouldn't be part of a healthy diet.

      I have never heard of GMO blueberries. I buy organic of course, but even the non organic I see are not GM. I checked with several reputable sources and they state that there has never been a GM blueberry produced anywhere in the world. This is because genetic modification is expensive and there is no return on investment as blueberries are too niche of a market to begin with.
      Corn and wheat are definitely genetically modified because of the massive industries and thus return on investment for modification that they represent.

    2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
    3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind maybe saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel .
    4. We believe that the first principles of the Gospel are:
    first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentence; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    5. We believe that a man must be called of God by Prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
    6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

    On pooping, If I dont drink enough liquid I get constipated, and those marble type poop. This could be a reason for marble poop.I dont get it often, but everytime I do, I think back, and remember that I've drank between 4 and 6 glasses of liquid that day.This doesnt happen often, I try and drink at least 10- 12 glasses a day. I know I should drink at least a gallon a day, but I just dont like to drink unless I'm thirsty.
