Hello Camirra. Dirty rice is Creole (Afro-creole) in origin. It is also know as rice dressing or Plantation rice. The enslaved used the castoff giblets along with rice to make a filling and delicious meal. Gumbo, Jambalaya, Dirty Rice etc. are all Afro-Creole creations. Misinformation pushed by the media is appropriating the Creole culinary heritage to another group.
Camirra you are a real soul food queen 👑. Thank you for uploading and sharing your dirty rice recipe. This is an authentic, great, dirty rice recipe. Blessings to you Sis, 🙏🏾🙋🏾❤️
Yummm 😋! That looks so delicious. My mother makes “dirty rice” 🍚 with the gizzards and giblets, red peppers 🫑 and etc. I still don’t like the gizzards or giblets. But I love 💕 when you and my mother cooks it. So scrumptious 😋🥰!
This is how my family makes it! Gosh, I miss the tastes of home. Thanks for the video. I wanted to see how you made it with the instapot. I've made this for Italians (I live in Sicily) and they really appreciate the French trinity ingredients. I love showing them real American cuisine.
Wow I love this recipe and will make it. You came through with a recipe that has liver. Many recipes out there don't add liver. This is the true way to make it. Your hair looks beautiful in braids.
amazing - as a newbie loving this channel and your way of teaching - to the point - clear instructions and not trying to be entertaining like so many......however your beautiful personality absolutely SHINES through!
Giiiirl, you brought back sweet memories. My mama taught me to make dirty rice from scratch and she used to use liver and gizzards. I forgot about that. Oh my goodness, I gotta make this just because. Oh how I miss that woman😢 Thanks so much for making this! ❤ I’m gonna recreate this soon
Yes mammm i rocks with gizzards whats funny is i just bought some the other day. My plan is to season, flour and fry them up. And i love me some beef liver, i can eat it at least 3 times a year. Im from Arkansas so yeah we eat all of dat 😂😂❤❤❤❤
That has to be the greatest variant of rice I've ever seen in my whole entire life.. gizzards!? My Lord❤.. Girl you totally be killing it. Got me about to call SVU out here.
I use Zatarrins Cajun rice and put ground round and andouille sausage along with bell peppers and onions 😋😋😋😋 your version is amazing but I just don’t eat any kind of gizzards or liver, but I’m pretty sure it was delicious like you said because Camirra cooked it ❤❤❤❤
I recommend to us non Pork eaters to substitute the Pork Italian Sausage with Butterball Turkey Breakfast Sausage...I do it all the time and it's delicious!!
I made dirty rice about a month ago and it was the best I ever made. I used brown jasmine rice, ground turkey, Tony's, season blend veggies, minced garlic, sea salt, pepper, chilli powder, garlic and onion powder, soy sauce, and some other stuff chile..lol. I know it's not official. I don’t do the organs chile...lol We usually use neckbone broth for ours. I just used whatever I had and improvised somewhat.
Sounds great! neckbone broth is rich too. try the organ meat atleast 1 time. i swear you wont be able to tell its in there, but it will give a richer flavor to the turkey
hello, I’m watching your video and I am very impressed with your chicken gizzards but yesterday when I cook my chicken, I couldn’t get the backbone off I have half of a chicken in the freezer. I’ll see what I can do with the next time but that’s gonna look very good for your dirty rice. Let me know how it taste lol❤
Good morning Queen-Sister 🤗 You’re gonna laugh but I used to buy Bojangle’s Chicken dirty rice religiously. I was hooked!! Honestly, I didn’t know what was in it until I read a recipe. The gizzards I can get with because my Mom would flour & fry them and they were delicious but kinda hard to chew. Chicken liver?? 😳🫣 I can’t stand liver from any animal but with it being minced down like that it enhances the flavor but no real liver flavor at all to me. I gotta try your recipe. I haven’t purchased in years.
Sis law I just couldn't make myself come over and get that chicken but I am coming over today that looks good tell bro law I am not going to eat much hahaha
Omg! I've only had them fried. Pulling out my pressure cooker. I'm trying this. Hahaha I dine with swine. I've only had Pop-Eyes dirty rice. Super excited doing this for grands. Yes ma'am. God Bless You to and thank you
yes you can ask me questions under this video or a new video. Its better if you make a new comment because it will show up new on my dashboard. and i cant always see the comment streams.
I can't wait to try this! You are so good at explaining every detail on your videos. I just love your videos and your voice is to pleasant but the music is so annoying. I wish I could turn it off.
There's no right way to make dirty rice partly because there isn't a single way to make it. Some people use ground meat and some people use chicken liver.
My momma is from Louisiana....this is true dirty rice right here ❤

Yep. Grew up with dirty rice made with chicken liver.

I use chicken liver in my Italian sauce it has a rich flavour ...
ok hold up might have to try that. do you mix it with the beef?
I love this dish, never made it. Can I use cooked day old rice added ,so i dont have to worry about crunchy or mushy rice?
Ms. Camirra you look beautiful as always! 💖🥰💕 This looks delicious, I like liver and gizzards as well!
I can't wait to cook this
I bet sage would be a great addition to this recipe
i would only do a small amt since sage can get overpowering. put it could be good if you use more pork
@@CamirrasKitchen yes just to make it pop

Thank you 😋
I can eat EVERY SINGLE GRAIN of that rice And skillet ! 😂😂😂, Looks So Good ! 😂😅😊❤❤❤

Hey carmirra's KITCHEN 😊👋
Hey hey
Awesome great recipe no pork on my fork
Chicken Italian sausage would be delicious.
no issue! i know many ppl like that. replace with chicken italian sausage or all beef!
Omg! I've only had them fried. Pulling out my pressure cooker. I'm trying this.
Hahaha I dine with swine.
I've only had Pop-Eyes dirty rice.
Super excited doing this for grands.
Yes ma'am.
God Bless You to and thank you
Oh well you are going to be in for a treat because Popeyes dirty rice is bland
Hope you enjoy! you will for sure like this better than popeyes dirty rice!
i agree.
Can I post about the rice even if you are doing another recipe? I am knew to this posting thing. I am definitely purchasing the book.
yes you can ask me questions under this video or a new video. Its better if you make a new comment because it will show up new on my dashboard. and i cant always see the comment streams.
What does the parchment paper do?
Helps the rice steam, prevents water from evaporating out. Collects excess water at the top
Gizzards are my friends 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Hey how you doing ❤
great!
Pass me a plate
What happened to the mushrooms? I thought the dirty color and earthy flavors was from the mushrooms.
Tbh I never heard of mushrooms in dirty rice.
If you've never tried organ meats, chicken livers and gizzards are a perfect introduction.
I can't wait to try this! You are so good at explaining every detail on your videos. I just love your videos and your voice is to pleasant but the music is so annoying. I wish I could turn it off.
sorry you dont like the music! I thought it was just low background music. maybe ill consider not having it and see what others think
I’m terrified of trying organ meats lol
give it a try once in the rice. this is an easy way to get used to it
Definitely Creole and not Cajun. Parsley is a must!
what flavor that parsley adding? lol mostly its just for looks
Which Jamaican taught you how to cook rice 😂
Hahahaha
There's no right way to make dirty rice partly because there isn't a single way to make it. Some people use ground meat and some people use chicken liver.
Only ground meat is rice dressing. But I’ll eat and cook both.
@@CamirrasKitchen Only chicken liver for us. Never ground meat. People make dirty rice different.
Love it!
