Great job on showing and explaining the process…… just a tip for coating the fish with the “fish-fry mix”: I use a large ziploc bag to put the fish-fry mix in and just add the fish to the bag with the mix and zip the bat closed (making sure there’s plenty air trapped in the bag) and tumble the fish in the fish-fry mix until fully coated ….. works just fine for me😊

@@nelsonerobersonjr7153 it depends on how much fish fry you are using . Let’s say you are using a cup of fish fry , maybe a fourth cup of cornmeal . I am so used to doing it I don’t measure , I just eyeball it .

Several years ago my friend told me about using mustard so I started coating with mustard only then breading it. It would add a tanginess that was great. I haven't done that in years but will try again. Thanks. I have always been leery of the fried oven fish. I will definitely try. Yes I have an olive oil sprayer too.

If you use the Louisiana breading and cut the salt, just add a little cornmeal and cornstarch to it to reduce the salt. You can also taste the breading before you add any raw meat to check the flavor and salt content. I use that all the time and add my fav seasoning to it

Maybe the reason people don't like the mayo thing is that they think the taste doesn't really go with fish. But mayo is only egg whites and oil, mostly, which is why it makes a good binder and I don't think the taste of it is noticeable at all. I have used mayo instead of butter to make grilled cheese, and the bread actually browns up better than with butter, plus, the mayo is easier to spread! Thanks for the great video, I love oven baked fish.

This looks awesome! I've always been in the watery part of the world, and have eaten a lot of fried fish. Often it's fine tasting breading, but you need to rely on you knowledge that fish was in there. Breading just takes over - fish flavored breading (still good!). It's a delicate art to preserve the flavor of the fish when frying. Bravo.
