Count Dooku Is An Aggressive Aristocrat

- This is a tribute video consisting of a compilation of scenes featuring an amazing villain from my memories, the malicious Sith Lord and artistocratic ex-Jedi Master, Count Dooku (voiced by Corey Burton) from the hit show Star Was: The Clone Wars. He proved to be an exceptionally amazing villain strictly because of his behavior as a sophisticate despite his violently tendencies in addition to his graceful duelist skills. Hope you enjoy him!

This is why I get the chicks
As you said Count, "The Sith controls everything."
Women? Why not?
"I have become more powerful than any other lady's man. Even you"-Count Dooku
Explains why youre fighting with your saber against 3 Ladys while wearing a Pyjama
Playboy Mansion sends its regards
Agreed my lord.
Count Dooku Jocasta Nu, the Jedi librarian/historian seemed to have a crush on you. ☺️
Dooku is such an interesting villain because he wasn’t basically born evil like Palpatine. Dooku’s parents felt so honored that the Jedi Order wanted their son that they were willing to allow him to give up a life of wealth and power on his homeworld to become a Jedi. He was a man of principle, which is why he left the order after tolerating years of corruption and the unnecessary deaths of fellow Jedi.
It’s just really tragic that someone as brilliant and skilled as Dooku was ended up becoming a pawn to Palpatine’s grand plan to create the empire. But it’s very clear that Palpatine needed Dooku. Dooku was so charismatic and trusted that he was able to convince countless worlds to secede from the Republic.
He's also great because he could have been a moustache-twirling baddie. But he's an amazing combatant with the stones to do his own dirty work. He can beat almost all of the Jedi, save Windu and Yoda, and has immense knowledge on the Force. I will say I find some "what ifs" pretty amusing. One of my favorites is if Obi-wan had believed and understood what Dooku said on Geonosis and then gained evidence to expose Palpatine. It would change so much it would leave the universe nigh unrecognizable, but it would be cool.
Countless
Andrew Maddox Dooku is a very interesting character. I wish there was a novel on his life.
I’m pretty sure he was given to the Jedi because his father hated him and didn’t want a force sensitive
Austin Kersey actually, in one of their duels when Dooku was a Jedi, I believe he actually beat Yoda. He was the most skilled duelist in the galaxy.
It still amazes me that 80 year old Dooku was able to keep up with Anakin and Obi Wan while they were both in their prime so many times
prime? you mean age?
@@KydzPlays Bruh.. By prime, he means their most powerful forms.
@@bigbrother7604 they weren’t at their most powerful though. 🤦♂️
@@KydzPlays During Clone Wars It is. Ok, maybe Episode III but if it is then they aren't too far.
@@bigbrother7604 Anakin definitely wasn’t in his prime until the very end of clone wars. Throughout the show he fights Dooku numerous times and gets better every fight they have.
That fight between Dooku and the nightsisters really highlights how skilled and powerful he truly was. Clone Wars did a great job handling Dooku, giving him more depth than the movies, and Corey's superb voice acting was brilliant. Thanks for honoring this fallen Jedi.
If only they could have done the same with Grievous though...
True. What a waste. At the very least, we got ventress as a bounty hunter later on. Her ARC was very good.
I like Grievous from this show actually
In terms of looks and voice, he was never better. However, Grievous was kinda gimped in his appearances, losing a few fights he should have won.
Tao Jones T.jones I don’t know I think they made him less complex. He’s basically just the dick bad guy in the show. Episode 2 and 3 Dooku would kill Lux’s mother sure but I don’t think he would especially like the fact he did that or torment this kid with it
He has the elegance and omnipresence of a certain other Count but with fangs
Actually very appropriate, considering both of them have been portrayed by Christopher Lee
The countenance of a count certainly
"Torture? I dont know what you mean."
-Man conducting torturing
In his defense: he doesn't have eyes on his back. And being as old as he is, he might also be a little deaf...
He never asked any questions
Love that whenever Dooku is in a fight against multiple opponents he makes every effort to keep them from getting behind him. Most shows and films don't pay any attention to that sort of thing but it makes you so vulnerable and the fact that he does pay attention to it works so well with the character.
It’s because Makashi’s (Lightsaber Form II, Dooku’s preferred form.) weakness is the flank. Of course, Dooku’s implementation of other concepts from other forms helped him to overcome this weakness, but it was still something he avoided.
That and Christopher Lee actually knew how to use a sword so to that extent had common sense of always face your opponent, the animators just kept that in mind for him
One of the reasons I love the Clone Wars isn't just because they show Dooku as the suave, intelligent and skilled political and martial fighter he is, but also, by detailing all of the political plots Dooku helped Palpatine with (like with the banks), they show, as Clausewitz said, that "War is the continuation of politics by other means". Sidious and Dooku's breaking of the Republic in two between them was 99% backroom dealings and Machiavellian intrigues, 1% actual fighting. 😎
@Keldor Miro After the Rise of Skywalker is it that obvious? Sauron only had one burning eye and a big medieval army. Palpatine has lighting hands that can destroy a fleet of ray-shielded superfuturistic space ships. Palpatine could destroy Sauron's army and shoot the nazgul from the sky *alone* . And then he could destroy the tower alone.
And if we take his faction into calculations... The Republic, The Empire and the Sith Eternal would each one destroy Middle Earth easily.
Funny how the primarch of the world eaters can appreciate the non combatant side of this character
Corey Burton did a fantastic job copying Christopher Lee's voice.
No.
@@joseantoniomaestre1702 Yes he did.
It's not a perfect impression, you can tell it's not Lee if you have good ears, but he still did a darn good job. On a semi-related note, who else is hyped for the Count's imminent arrival to Battlefront II? I know I am. Let's hope they don't screw him up somehow.
Yo wait a minute
Why does he have to copy anyone? He is his own version of Dooku.
Count Dooku spoiled the ending so many times I don't know if he was just that confident the Jedi could not take a hint, or he secretly wanted the, "plan," to fail.
He wanted the plan to fail as far as I can tell
He was never loyal to sidious he wants he Jedi AND Sith to fall.
Sometimes I wonder if the Separatist Alliance was a predecessor to the Rebel Alliance.
Yes and no. The Seperatists were formed from worlds and individuals who wanted to function independently from the Republic which at the time was the biggest faction of the galaxy. That brought them at odds with the Republic and with Dookus manipulations as well as the manipulations of other greedy individuals from inside and outside the Republic WAR erupted. The similarity with the Rebel Alliance is that both factions decided to oppose the ruling of faction of the time period. Aside from that there are no other major similarities. Both factions had their fair share of villains and heroes (although the Seperatists were lead by a power hungry aristocrat {Dooku} while most of the leaders of the Rebel Alliance were individuals who wanted to save lives). That is all. Keep in mind that my comment is based on what i have seen in Clone Wars, Rebels and in games. So it may not 100% accurate. For a detailed and fullproof analysis i recommend searching wikipedia.
Barone 888 Good point; Another key difference is that the Separatists were puppets led by Palpatine as Darth Sidious who was also the chancellor of the Republic. The Rebel Alliance, on the other hand, wanted to rebuild the Republic once the Imperial Empire was destroyed at Endor.
Indeed. It is a shame that Dooku was blinded by his hunger for power and followed a madman like Sidious. Had he truly cared for the well being of the righteous leaders of the Seperatist Alliance he would have managed to create a stable, powerful and well governed faction.
Neither the republic or seperatists were fighting for the side of good as the rebellion did. For both factions were controlled by one evil entity (Sidious).
Barone 888 The original separatists joined the rebel alliance bringing all the assets they had left from the Clone Wars.
I often ask myself: How many capes and coats do Jedi and Sith have? They always drop them to fight, but do they pick them up afterwards? That seems like a waste of clothing lol
But it looks badass though. Dudes gotta look good when they saving the galaxy 😎
it's part of the war expenses
🤣🤣🤣
There is a brilliant line in one of the books where a Republic officer notes that while Jedi enjoy wearing "affected peasant robes" the quality of their boots always gives them away.
ROFL
I absolutely love how he sometimes will dust His robes... It gives the "Aristocratic spirit" idea, and I'm here for it
He's a businessman, doing business
8:27 Dooku’s smirk as Anakin is getting shocked lol
I love it when he makes other people kill each other by controlling them with the force. Fucking badass
Daddy I Said Stop he forced Padame to kill that alien who refused to go through with their agreement. That is dark.
And when he killed that he turned him around so he could look him in the eye as he killed him
“Sometimes things are just that important,” is my favorite Dooku line, it is so satisfying
10:37-10:49 incredible coreography
Reminds me Obi Wan and Qui Gon Jinn vs Darth Maul
He’s 83 how tf he did that
Eric Shawn the force itself is a mistery
@@ericshawn3169 he channeled the force through his body to give himself added strength like a Yoda did when fighting also in this clip I believe he’s 79 if that even helps.
No doubt
I think this video shows exactly why he´s the favorite person in the clone wars universe of many people in.
1. He´s a brilliant strategist as you can see in the scenes with clovis.
2. (For his age) he´s very agile and powerful.
3. His makashi is just beautiful to watch.
Shit gets real when he does his dueling stance
man dooku was an impressive villain calm collected and calculated and surprisingly good with a lightsaber especially with his fencing styyle
I just don't get why everyone's faces in Clone Wars look relatively more anatomically correct while Dooku's face looks like a baguette
They based it on the original 2003 clone wars cartoon, were everybody's features are exaggerated. I personally would have preferred if his head was more human like, like everybody else's. Exaggerations like this only really work in 2D Animation
His face is normal, but his beard makes the narrowness of his face more exaggerated
Lol
Obi Wan, tell your padawan to stop his insolence.
Anakin, control your insolence. The count is concentrating!
Dooku was underrated at times. Most people just think he's just an old sith lord, who cares. But come on, Dooku has such class and etiquette.
Anakin said the count can't move like he use to but didn't say that when Dookie cut off his arm 🤔
Anakin just got *burnt* by this comment
Dooku should have reminded him of geonosis
True lol
7:30 u can tell dooku was surprised about how strong Skywalker was getting.
3:10 For a moment, I thought he was going to say "I _am_ the senate!"
EDIT: And at 3:29, "I have altered the deal; pray I do not alter it further."
He should have
I love that Dooku is surprised when Anakin resists the four magna guards. Anakin built up such a tolerance for pain over the Clone Wars. It also shows when Admiral Trench tried to shock him and it didn’t work.
11:46 This part is honestly epic!
Looks like Dooku deceived people *countless* times.
I’ll see myself out...
Underrated
3:14 Missed opportunity for him to say "I am the Senate"
Count dooku is a swordsman of incredible skill to take on obi Wan and an Anikin at the same time multiple times
I have a lot more respect for sith fighters than jedi.
Sure they have lots of infighting, but they tend to win 1v1, they try to make the odds in their favor via deceptive ploys, and they hold their ground when it's 1vn
Duku is blind here and he still takes on three Jedi assassins!
Nightsisters but yes, the Sith are very impressive
You surely meant they hold their *high* ground
@@lemonzazz122 Really?? Dooku was only surpassed by Yoda and Sidious and was equal to Mace Windu in terms of Lightsaber combat. The Jedi Order regarded him as the finest lightsaber duelists and Sidious was highly regarded by his skills with the lightsaber
Dooku is one of, if not the best Makashi master of all time. Of course he's an excellent lightsaber duelist.
As if he had a choice not to fight the jedi assassins :DD
This show did Dooku great, I just wish they did Grievous well too.
They did. The show captured him really realistically. I just wish we could have seen a little more of his past.
@@thelastcrow5660 same, that's what I meant, they had an opportunity to delve into his tragic past but didn't
Dooku getting captured by pirates and being defeated by Quinlan Vos should have never happened
I couldn't agree more. That was only done to create a humor scenario with obi wan, Anakin and him together to the detriment of the characters.
It is quite realistic, and even David Filoni emphasizes on this.
yeah I never understood the love for vos, he just seemed like a loose cannon idiot with plot armor
matthew mann Especially the pirates
Mega Blade Chronicles
You never read the republic comic haven’t you?
Vos is one of the most interesting Jedi.
I feel bad for the way he died, such an awesome villain, could have had an amazing end.
Charles Dance would make a great double for Christopher Lee's Dooku. He has the voice for it too!
7:10 like trying to give my friends facts and they call you a conspiracy theorist
Lol
F
Certain chosen people control everything you just don't know it!
I love how Dooku can fight with one hand
Thank you for this! Such a great villain who really had the chance to sway the tide of the war either way had he gotten a grasp of the whole picture.
“I would kill you both right now if I did not have to drag your bodies.”
Best line
Three Dislike: "It's Treason Then"
25 Like for "Unlimited Power!"
Count is just really amazing. Can use the force while also can use lightning
Dooku was amazing in the Clone Wars, I just wish Grievous was as intimidating or had the same gravitas, like in the 2003 animated movie/series.
Yeah they kinda did grevious dirty and he could have been an amazing character
my favorite kind of Aristocrat
Dooku with a hood looks badass.
Excellent video.
*AGGRESSIVE NEGOTIATIONS*
count dooku is the best sith
Don't think he is a true sith more like using the position to fix the Republic
Corey Burton is flat out a much better actor than the others. His reading of the part is amazing.
That is not surprising. With the exception of the late Ian Ambercrombie who played Palpatine/Darth Sideous he is the most seasoned and experienced voice actor on the show who played a regular character. It definitely shows with his portrayal of Cad Bane and Count Dooku. Dee Bradley Baker who played the clones is probably the next most experienced though he may have more range than Burton due to his animal noises. Clone Wars is definitely one of those exceptional series that always managed to get great voice actors.
Count Dooku-Corey Burton
No offence to the late Sir Christopher Lee, but Corey Burton IS Count Dooku to me.
_OOOOHHH, BUT YOU CAN._
I wish they did more with Dooku, I loved him and they had him killed rather quickly.
Dooku really just wanted Hondo to shut the heck up every scene he was in with him
By far best version of dooku
14:20 I like how in both Clone Wars shows he baits Ventress into taking force lightning
Much as I liked Count Dooku in The Clone Wars, I do think he and General Grievous should have faced Obi-Wan and Anakin a lot less. The reason I say this is mostly for two reasons.
1) In the comics, Dooku operated from behind the scenes, and while he did fight some Jedi on occasion, he usually used people like Asajj Ventress or Quinlan Vos to do his dirty work for him. This showed him as a cunning strategist and appealed to his aristocratic vanity; rarely getting his hands dirty when he has others to do it for him.
2) This takes away from the duels we see in Episode III. Anakin and Dooku fight so much here that it kinda takes away from "My powers have doubled since the last time we met, Count." It makes you think, "What, you mean since we fought last week? That's one helluva upgrade." When originally we thought he meant the last time they fought on Geonosis, and Anakin finally getting his revenge for Dooku taking his arm. The same goes for Grievous; he loses every fight in the Clone Wars to the point he's no longer the feared Jedi hunting general we used to think he was. I remember being so awed at the sight of him in theaters wielding four lightsabers at once. Now he fights Obi-Wan and uses the four arm attack so much that it really takes away from Episode III.
I love this series so damn much.
1:16 My boi. xD
*this piece is what all true warriors strive for*
*A pause*
I made Snoke
Dooku has my favorite voice and is in my top 10 star wars characters ever. I really wish season 7 had been longer and had atleast 2 more arcs.
I can't fucking wait to see more Dooku in season 7.
I did wish he fought other jedi besides fucking Obi Wan and Anakin.
I love dooku’s elegant fighting but also he has so many cloaks like why??!?🤣
Old men prefer to have a lot clothings on themselves
I saw that title "An Aggressive Astronaut"
Unpopular opinion but i think Dooku deviates a but too much from its origin in Attack of the Clones. Dude when from semi-sympathetic Jedi gone rogue (who is wiling to conspire against Palpatine) to Darth Tywin (sophisticated but ultimately ruthless and malicious)
He still chopped off Anakin's hand.
I think he had been looking for alternatives, after obi-wan declined his offer. Thats why he has asajj as assasin
His ultimate goals were sympathetic but he’s willing to do less than savory things to achieve his own end. Plus the first 2 seasons of the clone wars turned him into Saturday morning cartoon villain instead of a noble demon anti-villain.
If only they got the late Sir Christopher Lee to voice him once again?
he voiced him in the clone wars film any other appearance he was voiced by corey burton
Lee would likely have been too expensive to do for the tv show. Burton is good enough at the role that is not a huge loss.
He voiced Dooku in the clone wars film which precedes the show, but as a matter of personal preference; I think Burton was better suited for the animated Dooku, just as Dee Bradley Baker was better suited for the animated clones than Temuera Morrison.
Kudos to Corey Burton for his Sir Christopher Lee impression.
Count Doku was an aggressive gentleman.
Count dooku: gives her a whole hour to consider her choice
Vader: I’m giving you 3 seconds to consi- oh well if you look at that! The 3 seconds are over! Time to die!
Dooku was such a badass in Clone Wars. Not like in the films...
@Random Stormtrooper He's Christopher Lee. That just tells people he's awesome.
He was played by Christopher Lee!
He schools Anakin and Obi-Wan in Episode 2 and he ragdolls Obi-Wan around in Episode 3. And that Obi-Wan was considered one of the best Soresu duelers in the entire order and defeated Anakin and Grievous. So yeah, he was badass.
@@kungolaf4499 Trouble is not only is Makashi inherently better (More energy efficient and graceful) than Soresu, Dooku was the greatest Makashi practitioner in star wars, So ofcourse he would kick Obi-Wan's ass
He was a badass in both, however he had very limited screentime in the films, compared to the show, where he was a central presence.
With just a wave of the hand death is swift
What a fuckin badass
ZEEEEUUUUSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Your son has returned...
Dooku is the MVP
Dooku was a dangerous Sith lord. Pikes's leader revealed Count Dooku's Sith name in front of two Jedi.
When you realise Dooku could beat the Jedi with one arm tied behind his back
ZEUSSSSS!!!!
That dooku vs Ani fight is so bad ass
The clone wars show is the reason I love count dooku so much
Count Doku vs King Bradley( FMA) who would win?
Well Dooku has the Force which grants him many abilities that include enhanced movements, sight without looking at people, Force Lightning, and Telekinesis in addition to his fencing style with the Lightsaber. Bradley has superhuman levels of movement and strength since he can move faster than bullets and slash tanks like butter, the Ultimate Eye which allows him to predict his enemies' next movies, and incredibly sharp swords. Both are trained veterans of battle and tactical warfare. If Bradley can somehow steal another Lightsaber and stay out of the way of Dooku's telekinesis and lightning, he may have a better chance at winning.
Sorry but if we are talking brotherhood Bradly the shear speed that he moves at is closer to the speed at which Sidous himself moves in his fights. The force may be on dukos side but with the eye that sees all the fight goes to the basicly demigod.
The eye doesn't see all, just the moves of Bradley's enemies in battle to help him predict their next attack. He cannot see immaterial attacks like from the Force or an enemy's attacks if his vision is blocked. For example, he could not block a force choke.
Please do General Grevious.
Reminds Voice of Dale, and Zipper
I love the droids lol
Do you think Dooku knew of Anakin and Padme’s more than merely friends relationship and hoped to take advantage of that or did he just get lucky and managed to leverage the right person?
7:20 getting some Bespin vibes
I consider myself a hardcore fan of the Clone Wars. And yet far too many of these scenes are unknown to me. Can you provide an episode list for all the clips used in this video?
Cynical Joker Yes thank you, I looked into it and that is exactly correct. They are clips from the 6th season. Too bad this show had to be cut down in its prime. It had so much going for it.
@@puredemon6349 7th season is now out on Disney+
@@JT-hk9ur 7th season is trash because Disney produced it. As far as I am concerned the Clone Wars only exists from seasons 1-5. Disney ruined Star Wars. I will never support them.
@@puredemon6349 that's a terrible mentality to have but its your opinion so 🤷
@@puredemon6349 actually you should be considering 1-6 because even 6 was still produced by CN. Season 7 is a take it or leave it for me. It would have been nice to see Dooku one last time in Season 7 though
Do starscream form TFP, great video as always BTW
He said he wasn't going to do Starscream, because the 'Con wasn't an effective villain at all.
He really wasn't. I think the only reason people liked him, aside from his comedic antics, was because of Steven Blum's performance. ANd while Steven did a great job voicing scream, it is hard to take him seriously as a villain when he gets beaten by a little girl.

Damn i forgot how bad the early clone wars animation looks compared to later
When the first 3 top comments all have Count Dooku pfps.
Yay you're back
Dooku is so overpowered there was only two jedi that could have beaten him yoda or mace windu
One of my problems with Clone Wars is that they never did anything interesting with Count Dooku. He had great fight scenes (the one in "the lost one" is the best fight the show ever did in my opinion) and some good lines. However they never gave him interesting stories. He was supposed to be a talented political idealist and revolutionary. However he tended to be shown as a cruel brute who could not be trusted. Unlike Maul, Savage, Ventress, or even Grevious he never got an episode that really explored his character. I hope they give him one in the last season.
That dude has Brynjolfs voice
I assume you mean Clovis as he is the one who is voiced by Brynjolf's actor Robin Atkins Downes.
