Grievous trying to square up to Windu and getting his chest crushed for his trouble. Way cooler reason for him to be wheezing than his cybernetics always being faulty.
To be fair, It is canon that Mace Windu doesn't wanna run the ones with Grievous in any sort of way because of his fighting style. He used that force attack specifically to avoid a confrontation with him, it portrays Mace as a tactician who knows to not confront Grievous, and it also solidifies Grievous as a threat. Such a good mini-series man.
@@TheKoopaKingBowserWdym it's canon? When is it stated anywhere how Windu feels about the prospect of crossing lightsabers with Grievous? It makes me extremely happy that in the newest episode of the clone wars, they acknowledged Shaak Ti being sent to defend the Chancellor. I only wish that we’d get a clone wars imitation of this battle, but I’m also fine without it seeing as we have a rough imitation here. But now we can assume that majority of the chase scene is completely canon.
@Tim Woods as far as I know, I think the canon death for Shaak Ti (which in my opinion is the dumbest death for her) is when she’s meditating in the Jedi Temple when the clones are gunning everyone down and Anakin walks in to her chamber and stabs her from behind.
@@christianbarajas396 Even before Disney 2008 Clone Wars fucked certain things up, like General Grevious. Like they made sure Anakin never meets Grevious because of a comment he makes in RoTS but they couldn't be bothered to keep things consistent with 2003 Clone Wars.

Everything Genndy touches is so sick. Literally cannot give this series enough praise. The silent moments just accented by lightsaber combat, the careful attention to giving even minor characters spotlight, the cinematography, just wow. This, Symbiotic Titan, Samurai Jack, Primal. I just love this mans work.
That clone saw grievous, calmly loaded a rocket and shot him point blank with a rocket, he waited his whole life just for that moment and he was like, “ I was literally made for this.
I loved how Grievous was always calm, composed and toying with his preys, but the very moment he sees Windu, he tries to go Full Beast Mode with his 4 arms, bitch knows who he can't play against
I heard that one of the reasons that Mace Windu didn't want to get into lightsaber combat with Grievous is because he noticed in their first duel that he picked up and mimicked form Vapaad, the one Mace created, and he was afraid Grievous might learn it entirely just as he did with other lightsaber forms
The series is still Legends BUT some events can be considered canon due to references. For example the Battle of Corusant and the whole Shaak-Ti thing and the battle of Hypori are taken as canon. (The Shaak Ti thing was in TCW and the battle of Hypori is referred to in a canon book)
Courscant: *Gets invaded by a large Separatist force* Palpatine: *Sitting in his office nonchalantly watching the battle* Jedi: Seems like something a Sith Lord would do but ok.

8:13 and 17:26 I vote Grievous: A Star Wars Story Live Action Movie takes place in the Comic Books, Video Games, TCW‘s unfinished episodes, CW 2003 Series and chapter book memoirs
I just love how he is sipping tea, watching the carnage unfold, looking at it as it's beauty unleashed and doesn't care to act more concerned when Shaak Ti arrives. This scene was always gold to me. I just love how he stands up to Grievous, knowing he just own him at any minute and Grievous being ignorant as hell of the situation.
This whole sequence really highlights what a massive troll Palps is, and I love it. The way he waits around in his office drinking tea while the planet is going to hell, sassing Grievous like he's telling them darn kids to get off his lawn, the not-quite sarcastic way he delivers that "your selfless sacrifice will always be remembered" line to Shaak'Ti, right down to his smug face as he backs into the shadows at the bunker. The "let myself get kidnapped so Anakin will rescue me and get rid of Dooku while getting to the Dark Side," plan has to be one of the more delicate parts of his scheme, but he's still taking time to have fun at everyone's expense, and he's clearly enjoying every minute of it.
Tartakovsky is godsend for western animation. Despite being a director, he handled numerous cuts of animation himself, including the one where Windu takes control of a vulture droid, if I'm not mistaken.
@@acegabrielcruz3687 They aren't just "unbeatable" they're portrayed as seeming highly competent. @@elmothestalker5148 Btw I think this is one of the most interesting battles in the Clone Wars era (at least between the Prelogy and the animes) because it show how different, well...consciousnesses can cope with dire situations. After all Shaak-ti's moves weren't that bad practically...lets just think about how much droids the Separatists lost on that occasion, and that Grievous almost let the victory seep out, and he still ended with a crippled chest... The interesting thing is that her character is repeating such goal over and over again, but in different patterns. Like, it's just hard to find ANY story in which she just retreats and lets some troops take the damage alone. I just cannot think about anyone now. This is just a strong definition about character traits.
mslink 333 Actually, Revenge of the Sith takes place over a few months. There is much evidence for it, but perhaps the greatest is the fact that at the beginning of the movie, Padme was not showing to be pregnant. By the end, she was giving birth. This implies that AT LEAST 5 months passed over the course of the movie
mslink 333 It’s not completely clear if Palpatine made Anakin have those nightmares. It’s implied that Anakin has a special gift to see the future, but as we now know, that future is unchangeable. He attempted to change that future, but that was always meant to happen. He caused Padme’s death with his interference
One thing I love about this version is that it shows you an idea on the true scale of the war that others just doesn't bring. Everything seems so small and localized in the clone wars etc, but this shows thousands and thousands of ships spanning across an entire planet and the amount of troops and droids there are.
Yessss! The defined number of the clone army today (3 million) is absolutely ridiculous. This show portraits exactly how a huge scale war in a galaxy should be
@@OO-pb2ktI wish it was left ambigious on what a "unit" was in Episode II. Limiting the clone army to explicitly a few million via 2008 TCW was a big mistake
It said in the title crawl that the separatist fleet alone composed of many thousands of ships, and in the Republic Commando novels, I think, the part that takes place on Coruscant during the siege, it said that close to hundreds of ships were pouring in everyday and the sheer amount of chatter overwhelmed the communications network of the planet to an extent.

I like to believe that this moment implies that Grevious was intentionally kept out of the loop on Darth Sidious' true identity in case the Republic captured him
@@TheRealBlueLightning - So do I. The only people who knew of Palpatine's double play were his apprentices, Darth Maul and Count Dooku. He really trusted Grievous to obey his orders and not harm him, even in the middle of a battle and believing that Palpatine was the enemy.

I like how he has the sheer psychic power to apparently slam aircraft carrier sized star ships together but rides to battle on a goat like it's lord of the rings 😂
Ha! It's so true tho. There was no consideration for the two clones following them. They didn't even bother force tossing them across the Gap then catching them before they landed
Really brings the idea home that nobody in the Star Wars universe really considered the clones to be anything more than organic droids. as disposable and replaceable as a gun with legs
@@mecklart9881 you didnt either. there was an episode with ploo koon and his wolfs where they were sitting in space in a capsule with no comunication after grievous destroyed their main ship. they have a conversation and ploo kon sits perfectly still to which the clone ask "arent you worried at all sir?" This series wrote the closest to lore Windu of all. In the whole lore of Star Wars, it was said that Mace Windu was so good at fighting his presence alone was an strategic advantage since he could take entire flanks and sometimes whole armies by himself out of sheer combat skill. JohnMrubenstein Thank you, very cool. Didn’t know that, mad respect for the Star Wars lore wizards.
I like how he has the sheer psychic power to apparently slam aircraft carrier sized star ships together but rides to battle on a goat like it's lord of the rings 😂
@@Mindwerkz Wasn't it also a gift from the wookies?

Clone-"We're on our own!"
Jedi-"You mean you're on your own"
Clone-"Wha.. OH"
@@thatguywhatshisface8408 I guess you have never watched clone wars
@@mecklart9881 retcons
@@mecklart9881 you didnt either. there was an episode with ploo koon and his wolfs where they were sitting in space in a capsule with no comunication after grievous destroyed their main ship. they have a conversation and ploo kon sits perfectly still to which the clone ask "arent you worried at all sir?" (not exact words) to hi replies "i know someone will come". the clone goes full emo and tells "sir where just disposible, we're clones"he conforms him saying "you're all special just like myself" and ashoka rescues them. after that you can see a lot of episodes where clones are left to die and its know in both legends and cannon there were jedis who hated or didnt trust clones. anakin and obi wan had the lesser clone casualities of the entire army
Shaak Ti was so badass in this show. It honestly made me feel bad for having to kill her in the Force Unleashed.
This series wrote the closest to lore Windu of all. In the whole lore of Star Wars, it was said that Mace Windu was so good at fighting his presence alone was an strategic advantage since he could take entire flanks and sometimes whole armies by himself out of sheer combat skill. We don't really see that Windu anywhere but in this series.
Exactly 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 HE IS BY THE TIME HE DIED IS THE SECOND MOST POWERFUL JEDI IN THE ORDER SLIGHTLY BEHIND YODA.
That's why fans get so upset when those medias stop being canon: most of the best stories in Star Wras are among them.
When we first saw Mace Windu ignite his Purple Lightsaber in Attack of the Clones, we knew immediately he was a Jedi Master on an entirely different level.
Not to mention, we had the best depiction of grievous possible, not the joke he was in 3D animated series.
@@Alpha0727 But didn't certain people hate the purple lightsaber because it somehow breaks canon that lightsabers used to only be green, blue and red? Those were the same who hated seeing Yoda use a lightsaber.
Mace Windu: "The city is under attack"
Yoda: "Prepare my battle llama you must, ride into planetary scale battle I will"
Looked more like a goat to me.
......I bet Carl Wheezer has a Battle llama, lol.

“The city is under attack!”
*strikes pose*
“DEFEND THE CITY WE MUST”
I love Yoda
Basically a JoJo character.
Remember this is Gendy Tartakovski’s work, so I hear “The Planet of Coruscant is under attack, and only the Jedi can save it!”
"You are tired, Jedi." Is the best quote ever.
