I personally think that Tactical droids were losing so often, because they were often memory-wiped and had only limited amount of experience and non-standard situations that they can include in their calculations. I think Super-Tactical droid was able to keep these data, even after memory-wipe.
I believe there is a point in the lore that stated the T series had an issue with improvisation early on, but as they gained real world experience could become WAY more effective. It was just so rare for these droids to be left alive after a few conflicts that few did
@@sladewilson6584 CIS made a huge mistake decommissioning Droid Control Ships after Naboo. Their role should be changed to a Data Center Ship. Download in real time all tactical and operational data from multiple levels of droids including T-series and ST-series. And send them out via hyperspace transmissions to other ships so they could upload them to tactical droids memory cores. It would exponentially increase their experience levels and allow better analysis of the battlefield.
These droids went from 'Roger Roger' to 'Actually, I’ve calculated your entire existence is unnecessary' real quick. Talk about a glow-up... or should I say, a logic-up!
I hope Kalani returns one day. He would make a great asset, and potentially a political figure for droids if he isn't in the role of military commander.
Give Grand Admiral Thrawn a personal squad of ST droids to replace the incompetent officers under him and it would have been game over for the rebels long before the battle of Lothal
The Separatist Alliance is one of my main favorite factions. Especially in Starwars Legends. Tactical and super Tactical droids are OP. It would be awesome if they did a series , or a Trilogy on Kalani, the Separatist super Tactical droid that survived in the clone wars, and past the Rebels
The villain of the SW5E campaign I'm running is a Super Tactical Droid who is trying to enslave all organic life by bringing back the Rakghoul plague. He has gone mad.
Super Tactical Droids are definitely my favorite type of droid out there. Very cool design and I love that they all have cool custom paintjobs and personalities. Hopefully we see Kalani at some point, perhaps after the period of that one Rebel episode... he is technically still functioning doing something out there in the galaxy.
I wish they had used the old voice for Kalani in his Rebels appereance. Yes, I know it was still Gregg Berger that voiced him but I wish they had kempt the old voice modulation that was used in TCW.
I wish they used to old voices for the B-1s/OOMs but I digress. If we go for an in-universe explanation, I'd say lack of proper maintenance probably changed his voice.
In Rebels it's been over decade since his first appearance in clone wars and rebels so it makes sense that his voice would sound different considering deteriorating voice modulator.
I've always thought that Tactical droids do better when they have an organic commander with them, they have the computational power but the organic commanders, like Trench or Grievous have more flexibility and instinct, in several cases the organic commanders ignored the advice of their droids. and they did badly, like Trench and Wat Tambor
The tactical droids seem like really good second in commands, but they all seem to have been given an incredibly arrogant personality which naturally makes them hard to work with for organic leaders. That personality I think helps stop tactical droids from working together and creating Star wars skynet. But it also leads to a lot of these arrogant generals really hating their tactical Droid, but they would make a good adjunct.
12:29 this Rebels arc with the CIS droid holdout troops was a demonstration of irrational behavior on the part of the Super Tactical Droid. But eventually the Droid came to his senses.
But to be fair, it had been operating for like 16 years without a memory wipe or even regular maintenance. So the fact that it was able to realize the error of its thinking and correct itself proves just how smart these droids are. If the CIS made any more, palpatine and dooku would have probably had an unintentional robot revolution on their hands
The T-series tactical droid is more suited for logistical support and tasks, if needed for front line the best place for them would be quarter master for fleets/command ships or ordnance support While the ST-tactical droid had great potential if more mass produced for all Confederacy battle fronts, no telling what the confederacy could have achieved if they had more ST droids more wide spread
In my mind the T-Series arrogance is to stop them from working together which the St series didn't have if the CIS wasn't careful and made too many STs they could have actually had a Droid revolution on their hands where the economic factors to Droid production are put aside in favor of pure efficiency
I found your channel not long ago and I think it’s some of the best Star Wars info content that I’ve found. Any chance of a video on the Loronar E-9 Explorer? I found the ship on Wookieepedia but can’t find much other information about it.
@@MetaNerdzLoreThanks so much! I’m attempting to write an Ahsoka focused fanfic immediately after Order 66 where she’s also considered Mandalore and I’m planning on using the E-9 Explorer as her main ship.
I think the problem is that they're too fast and they're probably wiped of their memories. Kalani was able to win against the rebels, because he had absolute control over the situation. But that's because he's had time to evaluate everything one of his calculations. Even with computers in store wars, there is still so much variables involved, experience is still needed androids, and that is why some of the best are just long living, because even though they can do the things of them that they're supposed to do, they have experience. You can't exactly ensure which way a person will react, you may be able to learn about psychology, but it won't prepare you for everything
I mean I would think One super tactical Droid would have a type of ghost ship in this universe. That a couple of mystery solvers can find pacifically five😊
@B1-997 I was thinking more of a Munificent-class star frigate or a Providence-class carrier/destroyer something that can go toe to toe with lesser imperial ships.Lucrehulk would be noticeable wouldn't but I think people would think and notice too much if going round. Also I thought of a cool name for this ST Tyiorus or Quixote which one you think is better?
I love how intimidating super tactical droids are you do get the feeling that every one of them is an artfully created masterpiece of a Droid not mass-produced. With the regular tactical droids. You can tell that they're a bit more standardized and produced. Also, in my mind, the reason the tactical droids are all so arrogant is to stop them from working together and creating some kind of Droid revolution because each tactical Droid thinks it's Superior to the other ones. Which is probably why they only made a few super tactical droids and they were all handcrafted because if they made too many they absolutely would rebel against the Confederate Parliament.
Even basic tactical droids were quite good on a larger scale. Much like B1 droids, they were mediocre, flawed, but numerous. And they proved to be a force multiplier to existing models, a step above OOM commanders. For every battle the Republic won through tactical brilliance, Confederacy could theoretically overwhelm it in a few others with “good enough” units - there is no way that every Republic commander was a genius, and some could probably be more incompetent than TDs. Now add Super TDs that were even better than that and, well, the odds start to look not that good for the GAR.
The series was set up in a way that the separatist couldn't be compentent which also means they where less intimidating. I think it can even be called the grievous effect cause he became the prime example of a villain that got hyped off screen. But when shown he was a incompetent coward in the Canon show. Same with the whole Separatist army...... In the beginning the Narrative wants to explain them as this big threat. But everytime they appear the good guys need to win.......... But I think the most scary part of them now existing is anyone can now have a droid that is that good at tactics and strategy so anyone with one is now much more powerful then before not just milltarully but in all ascats of life in the galaxy... So yeah why I get why people fear them they have the same reaspect for life as assains drones do but trust me the remfactions on the galaxy are far "worse" then that...
I love how it wasn't even "acceptable casualties" or "a necessary sacrifice", just straight-up "I DON'T CARE."
It's great. But then again organic officers cared even less. So makes sense the Tacs would follow suit.
