And Dooku is an experienced force user himself but had no chance to escape the choking. So Palpatine could literally eliminate every potential threat to him by just raising his hand.
Sidious's true power isn't in his abilities with the Force (although he is still the strongest Sith and potentially Force-Wielder in the galaxy). It's in his politics. He could eliminate every enemy of his by hand, like he did with Maul, but he needs to rally people by his side to support his galactic empire. He can't afford to only kill souls, he needs to win them too
As powerful as he is, he’s one man, he needs Armies to enforce his Order He needs apprentices as enforcers and unwitting servants to carry his will Palpatine always wanted to rule, everyone and everything is merely a cog in his machine to rule everything Palpatine can only do so much on his own, and over time became even more powerful than he is now Also using the force is limited by imagination and current limit Palpatine can’t kill worlds on his own, that’s why he needs Death Stars, but he can do much no doubt Anyway he’s ruler that prefers to have servants do work for him, while he studies to become even more powerful His apprentices were never meant to replace him, simply serve him for life as long as he sees use in them, then cast aside for someone better
I don't think Dooku kept his force barrier up during their discussion, but was caught unaware. And it would have been a show of disloyalty anyhow, to struggle against Sidious' force choke, which is something Dooku is not ready to do. Sith apprentice is expected to endure through all abuse in training, hatred it stokes in them meant to make them stronger... or break them. It's all very insidious.
Sidious had 3 apprentices and 2 apprentices’ apprentices, and being fully aware of the danger an apprentice poses to their master, it isn’t until he’s pretty much ruled the entire galaxy for over 35 years that he finally gets killed by Vader. Palpatine was an absolute master of manipulation to stay alive as long as he did, as seen here with Dooku
Sidious was careful not to repeat his master's mistakes, such as not pushing the matter when he questioned Sidious about taking too much pride in his supposed Sith Assassin aka Maul
5:08 I really like how Sidious says "Tyrannus" Obi-Wan and the pike leader put emphasis on the "Ty" and pronounces it "tierannus" while sidious says it much softer and pronounces the "ty" part almost with an accent.
So force choke requires sight of your target it would seem. That sight does not seem to require you to be in the same room as the target just be able to ascertain the physical coordinates to manipulate the force in the area.
Sidious craves power and power alone. When he Told Anakin to Kill Dooku I cant imagine how betrayed Dooku felt after everything he has done for Sidious. Sidious wants the most powerful being for himself.
so goes the way if the sith the student must kill the teacher but. you must be strong enough to doo so. sidious feared that which is why he would replace his apprentices. and use them to his advantage. Plagueis only feared losing his power but not death itself

The relationship that Darth Sidious has with Vader and Tyrannus is different, damn.
Vader can choke you through a TV, Sidious can do it from the other side of the galaxy.
Pretty sure you have to make eye contact with whoever you're trying to choke to do it. Or at least U look at them
Dooku was basically Palpatine/Sidoius’s errand boy. Not even a partner like in the 2003 series
He could never be his partner as his power doesn't rival nor is on par with Palpatine's
What are you talking about? Sidious was only using Dooku the entire time. Canon or not.
@@marcuscain1377 Dooku have another plans, he want to kill palpatine but, you know, Anakin...
The only apprentice that Sidious ever considered to be his true successor is pre suit Vader
@@yokgor4675 no maul was his real apprentice. He didn’t know about anakin yet until plagues told him. When maul died that’s when he needed a replacement. It was unforeseen for palpatine but at least he got rid of qui gon
4:39-4:56 this shows how quick Sidious is to Blame his own Apprentice’s for his own Shortcomings it’s like if you wanted to make Sure no one knew what happened with Sifo Dias you should’ve made sure of that Yourself.
Sidious being engry is perhaps the most terrifying thing to experience, Dooku must have shit his pants while talking to him while so furious. The force choke was the pinnacle of all..
sidious is evil and all, but he is SO BADASS!!
Glad we got more than one scene with Sidious
Palp so strong force chocked bru thru FaceTime 😅
Sideous puts a bunch of pressure on dooku
Why did it take me like several years to realize that Darth Sidious and Palpatine were one in the same.
The best 5:06
That's why I came here.
"This is not the first time you have proven to be clumsy, Lord Tyranus... you KNOW the price of FAILURE." is one of my favourite Palpatine moments!
What ep is that?
I love how in this, it shows sidious and dooku trying and failing to achieve what maul achieved on Mangalore and in the crime syndicates.
I really like both Ian Abercrombie and Tim Curry in the role of Sidious
Cant help feeling bad for dooku with the way he died as he had some good points about how the Republic was corrupt and the flaws of the jedi and he wanted change them for the better but he didn't know sidious was manipulating him 😢 the whole time and didn't care for his life, if you think about dooku is more misguided and more of an anti villain he's not a truly evil villain especially when compared to sidious, tarkin and vader or even maul or greivous
I would also say he's the least evil out of the 3 prequel villains especially when compared to Greivous showing no mercy to any jedi he killed and mauls lust for killing anyone to get what he wants, sidious makes dooku look like a Saint especially the Canon dooku
Thx for uploadind this !
5:05 If Palpatine is so powerful that he can choke people from the other side of the galaxy, why does he even need and apprentice or a clone army?
And Dooku is an experienced force user himself but had no chance to escape the choking. So Palpatine could literally eliminate every potential threat to him by just raising his hand.
Doing his bidding as he says.
He can't afford to only kill souls, he needs to win them too
I doubt Dooku tried resisting tbh its like a big dog accepting punishment from its owner
As powerful as he is, he’s one man, he needs Armies to enforce his Order
He needs apprentices as enforcers and unwitting servants to carry his will
Palpatine always wanted to rule, everyone and everything is merely a cog in his machine to rule everything
Palpatine can only do so much on his own, and over time became even more powerful than he is now
Also using the force is limited by imagination and current limit
Palpatine can’t kill worlds on his own, that’s why he needs Death Stars, but he can do much no doubt
Anyway he’s ruler that prefers to have servants do work for him, while he studies to become even more powerful
His apprentices were never meant to replace him, simply serve him for life as long as he sees use in them, then cast aside for someone better
I guess Dooku could consider that Force choke his employee review.
Darth Sidious is just pure evil
I doubted Lucas when he said Sidious is the most powerful Sith… then I see him force choke another Sith Lord from across the galaxy.
Palpatine changes his cloaks a lot, his closet must be full of different dark cloaks for different occasions
Kind of ironic the last time we see these two talk to each other in the show is when Sidious Force chokes Dooku from across the galaxy.
He says it like the god Tyr.
So force choke requires sight of your target it would seem. That sight does not seem to require you to be in the same room as the target just be able to ascertain the physical coordinates to manipulate the force in the area.
Imagine being one of the most gifted swordsmen in the galaxy and then getting jacked up from halfway across that same galaxy… Intense
When Palpatine is angry and starts to order sternly and Force Choke you thats no funny business
Sidious craves power and power alone. When he Told Anakin to Kill Dooku I cant imagine how betrayed Dooku felt after everything he has done for Sidious. Sidious wants the most powerful being for himself.
my former arch nemesis
Love the clone wars, Dooku was awesome in it.
“How did you get ahold of these transmissions republic filth?”
You forgot when he's talking to Sidious on Scipio
Why the Clone Wars wasn't made the second Prequel movie, I'll never know...

Dooku was just an errand boy for Sidious, at the end of the day
I still think darth Sideous/the chancellor is a great villain because he manipulated everyone since the beginning
so goes the way if the sith the student must kill the teacher but. you must be strong enough to doo so. sidious feared that which is why he would replace his apprentices. and use them to his advantage. Plagueis only feared losing his power but not death itself
You forgot to include the one where Darth Sidious orders Count Dooku to destroy the remaining evidence linked to Order 66.
What evidence was that?
@@eljordinio7647 The inhibitor chips that Dooku received from Nala Se
@@jediclonekag13 I thought he was talking about the guy that was imprisoned by the pikes, the one Anakin and Obi Wan went to find to discover what Sifo Dias had said
@@eljordinio7647 That guy was Silman, personal aide of former Supreme Chancellor Valorum. He was loose end to what happened to Sifo-Dyas, not to Order 66. The last conversation between Dooku and Sidious in this video was about him and the latter ordering the former to eliminate it.
@@jediclonekag13 but didn't Sifo Dyas also know about Order 66, or at least what the inhibitor chips did? Oh yeah count Dooku is a fool
i believe dooku plans to defeat palpatine himself after find a good student.
in my opinion dooku in his prime could beat sidious.
in the comics of clone wars he tried to bring obi wan on his side.
There was either a book or comic (I don’t remember) where sidious was worried that Darth Plageius was going to kill him and replace him with dooku (who was still a Jedi at the time)
@@megabladechronicles962 Yeah it was in the Plagueis book
I agree dooku can beat sidious
In Legends during the Phantom Menace Circa Dooku in raw power was more powerful then Sidious until Sidious retired Plagueis and got a power boost only then was Sidious equal in power to Jedi Master Dooku around the Phantom Menace era.
in sabers absolutely he can 50% and he needs a strong apprentice to rival in force@@hussainumair5837

Why would Dooku betray Ventress rather than Sidious?
Tyranus isn't strong enough to defeat Sidious yet. If he betrayed him, he would be easily disposed of
Because Sidious too powerful to be stopped
Only hope is to strike him down off guard
But at that moment Dooku had only one choice, to either betray Ventress or die, there’s no going around it.
If Sidious called him out over Savage, as Dooku had intentions to train him to overthrow Sidious, it would have been the same
Sidious is the Dark Lord of the Sith, he can’t be beaten once he’s riled
Dooku had no choice, it was out of survival he had to betray Ventress with a heavy heart
@@christophersanchez7731 too bad. Would have loved to see Dooku as a Jedi on screen. Legends novel Dark Rendezvous and Canon audiobook Dooku Jedi Lost portray Dooku as a 3D and sympathetic character.
@@eliazarconeexcept Dooku showed no signs of wanting to betray his master so why would Sidious think otherwise
@@christophersanchez7731 wouldn't it have also made sense to just frame her death so Sidious would THINK she was dead and stop worrying about being overthrown? It isn't like Dooku would actually try to
They really both have a realisation since Tale of the Jedi
It would make more sense if Sidious was the older of the two of them with Dooku being the one who was twenty years younger but both able to make themselves look younger then they actually are yeah.
Honestly Dooku is way more older yet he's hot unlike Palps who looks like an dry orange, guess the genetics were on Dooku side
@Eric6761 Well it's more like Dooku isn't a normal Dark Side User/Sith since that tends to warp the physical appearance of force users. Dooku, while technically a Sith, keeps the darker impulses under control which is why his body isn't affected as much.
Sidious; not so much. He is so tainted by the Dark Side that he has to use a magic spell to keep a somewhat normal appearance. One that I think broke when he got fried to a crisp from Windu redirecting his lightning back to him
I love them both because they are so badass and cool villains, but I also hate them because they are unloyal, ruthless and bring so much suffer to the galaxy!

Imagine robot chicken
dooku and ventress had a very nice and strong band, sidious managed to ruin that however
“The Deathwatch will be considered heroes”
“I will be a hero just like you…BATMAN!!!”
For the uninitiated, The voice actor for Count Dooku in the Clone Wars TV show (2008-2012, 2020) is Corey Burton who is also voice of the deuteragonistic antagonist and underrated Batman Villain Professor Hugo Strange in the Revered Game of its series Batman: Arkham City!
What the fuck, how did I not notice?
Dooku deserved execution, even if Anakin captured him alive. These war crimes can hardly be said to be following orders
Who would've known that Sidious ordering Dooku to kill Ventress would lead to Darth Maul's return. 💯🙏😎

3:44 I can see Darth Sidious 👀 on the hologram.
How is Palpatine always ready for whenever someone calls him as Sidious even when he is not expecting it?
I wonder who that Sith Lord Sidious could be?
Wym?
Do you think someones walked in on Palps wearing his evil ass sith robes? That'd be an awkward conversation...
That actually happened with Mas Amedda, the blue guy who was always with Palpatine at the Senate meetings. And ever since, he has worked alongside Palpatine knowing of his plans and his sith nature.
Siddeus surely didn't return his loyalty back
Imagine if robot chicken had sidious got angry with fooku for getting rid of ventress because he was just joking
To be fair, Dooku wasn't that faithful to Sidious, he would also try to take any opportunity to strike him down, like trying to recruit Obi Wan and Ventress, try to make Grievous a force sensitive and find ways to make an opportunity to kill him however in the end he decided to serve him
