I saw a theory where yoshida is actually contracted with Cthulhu (fear of the unknown) and just pretends to be contracted with the octopus devil, and personally I like that over him being a horseman

I love how Yoshida went from a minor character in Part I to being a genuine intrigue character in Part II. The Author is very smart in how he uses this guy, and I'm looking forward to what role he serves in the coming story.
he was already very sus in pt 1 but we had bigger wories at that point in the story so most didnt take notice.

Octopus has the ability to shapeshift and change color and Yoshida has the octopus devil. He can potentially transform into one.
Edit: Or at least turn the octopus that he summons similar to Chainsawman. Yoshida was able to do something else with the octopus like create a black smokescreen with it.

Yoshida says that he has a contract with the octopus devil but notice how we have never seen the actual octopus itself? just these *Giant Tentacles* literally coming from the void ( can go check espacially in part 1 ) itself i dont know if i agree with this theory but someone made a video explainning all sorts of traits and things about yoshida and one thing that they claimed is that he has a contract with the chutulu devil
but the reason why i partially agree with this theory is that yes octopuses cannot be this immensely strong or at least strong^ and yoshida is contrary to that but but- how would he get a contract with one of the powerful legendary mythical creature itself? It's not like public safey has a giant ass cage sitting somewhere i dont know maybe that shady organization that yoshida been working might have some idea about that but thats not the point here... so there is somewhat of a hole in *that* statement but maybe just maybe- he could be the embodiment of one..

Even if Yoshida isn’t death, I think he’s somehow in alignment with Death, possibly through the organization. For one the number 4 surrounds him in many of his appearances, such as in Chapter 110 when he’s on the phone and in the latest chapter when he’s standing next to Asa with the sign saying #4 East High School between them. Other pointers include Santa Claus asking Denji how it would feel like to be stalked by death (something Yoshida has been doing throughout this arc), as well as a conversation he had with Denji in the aquarium. In it, he asked Denj if he could eat the death devil for them, since he himself had accepted his own death at that point. I believe this is a reference to a Japanese poem about an octopus eating itself after yearning for death in an aquarium, only to find out that it’s immortal after commuting the act. If he is Death these would all be perfect pointers for that.
However, I personally think he’s just an agent of Death and that the devil he has a contract with is the real Death Devil. I think that if Denji eats the Death Devil as Chainsaw Man, after being fed up with the concept of Death, it would create a nice bookend with Part 1, which ended with meat. This is because he would remove the concept of death in the act of eating seafood, and thus bring on some form of the apocalypse, which is what the horseman signify anyway. If he did that, there would be no escape from devils mauling everyone as people would be eternally mauled by devils, so the fear of devils would just skyrocket. In my opinion this would be a nice way to launch into Part 3. Not only that, but it Asa is at the center point of this theory and Denji chooses to eat the devil as a way to save her (let’s say due to the War Devil leaving her body and thus to die), it would be a in line with the Orphic archetype for Denji to try to save her. Not only that, she would love him for it because it would give her a chance to live “selfishly”, which she had wished she’d done since the first chapter.
This is quite possibly the Greatest Theory I have read… Very Fujimotoesque😳😳😳

I thought of one thing a lot: imagine the society that is completely free of fear of death. People would live as long as they like. And there is nothing for them to stop from quit living if they kinda tired of it. Imagine the scenery in couple of month of such freedom.
Also, how can you CONTROL the humanity without this basic fear? And what other horsemen? Will it be a feast for them or a disaster?
@@dmitrychirkov4206 I think it depends on the horsemen. If everyone runs out of food due to overpopulation and overconsumption of resources. Famine will definitely prosper. Removing death will remove meaning in life, which would mean there would be nothing to fight for. However, if war goes on regardless it would be even more terrifying as people would be forced into it with no escape from the misery of warfare. Control is iffy, but there had to be a reason why Makima wanted to destroy the Death Devil as well. Maybe it was a suicide mission on her part? I think something else to think about is how they would go about bringing the world back from that, because like Denji told Makima at the end of Part 1, you can’t truly appreciate the good without experiencing the bad.
One theory I had in mind is centered on the Darkness Devil. The reason it’s so powerful could be because it represents the void within which all Devils that are eaten by Chainsaw go. In other words, it embodied oblivion, and if you eat it, that could then bring back all those forgotten concepts into existence, so that reality goes back to square one. If they do that however, they would probably have to add an extra step to remove devils from existence as well. That’s the only way I see there being a happy ending in the story, should it go that route.
I am kind of unsure of this, since Yoshida already asked if Chainsaw Man would eat the death devil, meaning that he's likely not aligned with the Death Devil, but rather against it.

I think Yoshida is just a cool guy doing his job, which is looking out for Denji.
Denji is the only person that right now can deal with Nayuta, so Yoshida gotta make sure that EVERYTHING goes smoothly, he cannot let anyone know that Denji is chainsaw man and that he's living along side one of the most dangerous forces in this universe.
If the world Knows Denji is chainsaw man, our boy won't be only putting himself in danger, by showing his true identity he can also trigger a mini Makima that can make lots of trouble as we previously saw.
Yoshida knows that if Denji goes out of control he cannot do much, because of the sheer destructive power of the Chainsaw devil, sooooo if giving Denji a girlfriend will keep Denji quiet, he is doing it. I think that in the next chapter he probably figured out Asa is a danger to Denji's life and he is going to tell her to stop right there. However by doing that, Yoru will be even more interested in finding out who Denji is.

I have the feeling both Yoshida's organization and Fami are trying to replicate Pochita's power, the organization by creating fake chainsawmen and Fami by manipulating Yoru and testing if a weapon made of chainsawman could have the same power.
I think yoshida is the fake chainsaw man. There is evidence that he can copy abilities with his octopus. In the fight against quanxi he copied her fighting style.

I don’t think he’s the last horseman due to it feeling to obvious but, then again it would make since to make him the final big bad to follow the pattern of how Makima was the first Ally introduced to Denji in the first chapter just to turn into the main antagonist in the end. But the main thing on my mind reading this so far is, *WTF IS KISHABE?*

Personally I think Yoshida or at least his organisation is what previously tried k!lling the devil hunters in part one (himeno and the others) bc it turns out they are not in a contract with the gun devil, they were after makima mainly. He was hired by makima in the international assassin arc to use his powers as a support and bc she knew he can't harm denji or take him away that easily with this much chaos going on. Now that she is practically nowhere to be found for them, they go after denji that was her fixation. Hoping that they will find the rest of the horsemen in the process for denji to get rid of them. The question is were did they get this information from and what role does kishibe play in all of this considering how much he knows. Just my personal theory so far
I would find it strange that they knew about Makima's ability to hear everything (and possibly more of her abilities) but still decided to try killing her and just launching their attack in the first place instead of properly subduing her. And theoretically if theie goal was to take Denji's heart like Sawatari and the Katana Man said, why would they make Yoshida of all people get all giddy giddy with him instead of trying to jump him while he's in a weakened state?

If no one dies, that will quickly lead to overpopulation. And yeah, no one would die from starvation, but the quality of life would quickly fall for everyone. And that also brings into question if that would mean that devils could also never die, afterwards.

Part 2’s art style has been a little tougher than part 1’s. So maybe it’s just the fact that they’re filled in so weirdly.
I think maybe yoshida might want asa and denji to get closer to reveal nayuta because I think yoshida might know that denji has nayuta to distract denji, or maybe in the next chapter while yoshida and asa have their conversation a big reveal might happen, knowing fujimoto he can do a big reveal or just have the two of them have a normal conversation with strange dialogue. Really enjoy you videos always so good to watch.

im at 3 minutes in the video rn, but i think I've just realized that the perplexity and off-guardedness from yoshida of hearing denji say the ladies would be all over him if he revealed that he was chainsaw man, was because yoshida thought denji was referring to the four horsemen, however it took a second for him to realize that denji was talking about regular women.
I’m v sure that yoshida holds a grudge with the horsemen in general but it seems to me that he’s very devoted to his work that he even mentions in the cafe with denji that he would get in trouble if he lets denji expose his identity. We don’t really know who this organization is but Im sure this guy works for someone dangerous. I don’t think he’s the death devil I think this organization that he works for is trying to look for the death devil.

I've had this thought for a while and i think its an obvious pointer to say the least, but i think it could be easily seen that chainsaw man isn't just like..yk.. a "chainsaw devil" maybe that's the appereance he takes but i don't think that's what he stands for. Honestly i think the chainsaw devil is something like the extinction devil, being able to remove anything from reality. Extinction really aligns with the ideas of death. I have a theory for some of the upcoming chapters. Fakesaw man listened into Denji and Asa’s plans. I think he’ll remember seeing them go on the date, but Asa obviously doesn’t. Hijinks ensue.

Yoshida must be linked to the 4 Horsemen. He has been seen interacting or mentioning all of them. And he has been hinted to be working behind the scenes since the International Assassins Arc.

I think that Yoshida is meant to represent what the ideal Chainsaw-Man (tall, well-mannered, physically attractive, smart, etc) would ideally resemble to 1998’s Japan, but for whatever beyond surface-level reason wouldn’t be considered the ”perfect fit”.
This doesn’t even need to be related with Fakesaw-Man. You could simply highlight either his stubborn refusal to let others go against his wishes (Denji wanting to pick both options of his Trolley-Problem Ultimatum), or his complete lack of empathy to the people he fights (him doing whatever he did to Aldo’s brothers with a creepy Makima-esque smile).
Whatever the case, he clearly seems frustrated by these _seemingly unimportant_ flaws and how apparently some poor possibly foreign jack-ass like Denji could _possibly_ be given such privilidge.
So when Denji goes against Public Safety’s wishes and turns into Chainsaw Man again, he gets taken apart and put in boxes. And it’s not simply because Fumiko wants her way… Rather something much greater: *He wants to be the Superior Chainsaw-Man*

You overthinking it. The scene where Yoshida was stunned and couldn't formulate anything with few panels of emotions is simply a node to popular meme from "Firefly". It's a comedy relief moment and nothing more. Just as "i am gonna rid of your bullies problem, don't come to school tonight" meme. There are a lot of such things in this chapter 2 it's for our comfort before the shit storm strikes.
Fudjimoto is going to unleash some severe emotional damage on us in this part, so he need to create a connections between characters, specifically to create chemistry between Asa and Yoru. Same with Denji and Nayuta. He need us to deeply care about these characters, to get accustomed to Asa, to have fun time with her, to have emotional connection. Especially important to make Yoru fall in love (platonic love) with Asa. Yoshida is merely a trigger for shit show that will be unleashed later. I can see all Chekhov's guns placed by Fujimoto from miles away.
You remember how Asa created weapon out of uniform? Yoru was in shock when she witnessed how strong that weapon was. She never knew that her powers might work that way to create a weapon with a power like that. It's only then Asa explained to her that this uniform was left from her mother. Yoru will learn at some point that it wasn't a coincidence, and that she used her powers wrong all the time. Because she never felt guilt for anything. This is a Chekhov's gun right there. The whole concept of the "weapon is getting stronger the more guilt and connection there is with a person" is in fact Chekhov's gun. And it's armed.
Yoru will figure out, that the weapon she was looking for so long is right in front of her. The guilt for killing Asa will make it.. Can you Imagine what kind of manifestation of a weapon you would get from a guilt of a War herself after making weapon from Asa. And how much stronger it will be considering that Asa will feel the same connection towards Yoru before that moment? That's like.. ultimate weapon to surpass the Metal Gear.
This weapon might get so strong, that it won't be enough of Denji alone to deal with this. This is where Nayuta and Denji relationships is another Chekhov's gun. But i am just not sure yet to where this gun point at.. Either Nayuta, or Denji. I expect some sort of sacrifice.

The octopus he summons could just be him using it as a false flags means, like using people's fears of octopuses.
Could also explain why he wants to find the horsemen and the chainsaw man devil, or wants to keep the two separate. Chainsaw man erases anything he eats from existence, maybe Yoshia, as the fear devil, wants to keep the horsemen away knowing he'd be weakened if nobody feared things like famine, control, hunger, and death.
I think it could also explain his "fascination" with denji and by extension chainsaw man. As the primordial personification of fear knowing there's someone out there capable of being able to eat what people fear and completely erase it from existence must be mind blowing in a way

Theory I like about Yoshida, is that he is the fake chainsaw man. It would deal with the contract he has with the octopus devil. Octopus have the ability to mimic others things and adaptive camouflage.

I’m gonna be honest I hope Yoshida is not a villain. I know this would be too much like part 1 but I would love a team again like part 1. More characters to explore. At the same time too wouldn’t Yoshida be too similar of a plot to Makima also being some powerful devil?
Random question: Is Fami possibly a fiend like Asa/Yoru? Because there’s a panel in chapter 111 where it shows everyone laying down or sleeping, but there’s a girl that with freckles that looks really similar to Fami. What’s the reason of showing a random student that was saved during the school attack? Also, this random freckled girl is in the chapters 109 and 110. I believe she’s a fiend and not a full devil like Makima/Nayuta.
Perhaps. We still don't know what the heck Asa/Yoru classify as since they can't technically classify as a fiend or a hybrid. Maybe something went weird with the fiend transformation since Asa was half dead half alive when Yoru tried taking over? If thats the case then it would be unlikely that Fami has the same thing Asa/Yoru have since their partial-possession seem even rarer than Hybrids so its not something Fami can just do nilly willy. Maybe Asa just has special protag genetic chosen one powers, I don't know.

For me it is very suspicious that Yoshida looks like a copy of young Kishibe now that we suspect that he is a devil or in some kind of contract with a powerful one. It looks like he could choose any normal human's body and copy it and decided to use kishibe's cause he is considered the second best devil hunter after Quanxi.

What i noticed about you displaying Fami here and way back when i was reading csm part 2 and fami got introduced is that, next to the rip chord-like earrings that she has, she also wears this black helix ear cuffs too, just like Yoshida, apart from the weird look she gave Yoshida when the eternity devil was defeated once again, he wears six of them. That reinforces the thesis that they both know or work for each other or work both for the same shady organisation, i‘d believe.
