Thank you for the fantastic video! I am expecting my new radio to arrive today, which appears to be similar to the one you reviewed. There are several similar models available on Amazon under different brands.
My Jeep is a 2007/2008 Wrangler, which has a slightly different dash setup, making the installation process a bit easier in my case. I prepped my Jeep last night to understand what to expect during the installation. To my pleasant surprise, the previous installation of the Pioneer radio was done exceptionally well, with no mess of wires. This gives me confidence that I can install the new radio in approximately 20 minutes.
I am particularly hopeful that my new radio will display which door is open, as it can be quite frustrating to see only the generic "door" warning on the instrument cluster.
@huntershortrepairs glad I could help out. Of course we upgrade the wife's Wrangler to a 21 392....lol. More to come on this beast!!!
@@rrrobin2569 Thats awesome! Im pretty sure my Jeep is the amplified radio version since theres a subwoofer, and im glad the new one come with a canbus module so i can just disconnect the old module from the old radio and plug in the new one. I think the only wire i may need to cut and redo is the power wire for the backup camera, since its tied into the existing harness for the pioneer radio. Only 4 screws to take apart the center dash and then 4 more screws for the radio, should be simple lol.
Absolutely amazing Fam. Great work!
Thanks Big Homie, much appreciated ❤❤
Great video I’m gonna give it a try
Hay Richard, in the beginning of pretty much at the beginning of the install, where did you connect or sawter that ground black cable to? Oh, great video and installation. Very informative, and of all the videos that I've seen, yours is the one that I can understand.
I believe I grounded it to the metal frame in the dash.
@@rrrobin2569 Thank you. 👍
Hey! Great video. Thanks for the information. I am having issues with mine though. I have everything connected to the radio but I am not getting audio. I have the AUX cluster plugged in, but what is it supposed to connect to on the car? Is there a line that needs to be spliced in from the power cluster? Do the key 1 and key 2 wires need to be connect for audio? I read from a post on amazon that there's a dark blue amp wire that needs to be connected to the AUX cluster somehow but I don't know where. Any ideas?
@Michael Delmedico I will have to tear my wife's back a part to see what I did...lol
was the bracket you used to clip the screen from the original radio unit? or did it come with the new unit
@henryharvey852, It had a plastic bracket that bolted in the dash and the screen had plastic clips that went into the bracket.
How is it working now? Do you recommend a unit like this?
My wife didn't like it. The bluetooth stopped working. I would stick with name brand units.
@@rrrobin2569 thanks
