@@robinparker99 It will not. I tried the double din cause I thought it'd be more secure and help w/ heat. But it did not fit. When you order through amazon link that dude posted above your comment put in the order notes that you have a Jeep wrangler and the year & Joying will send you a module that will work w/ the steering wheel buttons.

@DatingElevated not worried about the steering stuff, all stereos that I have install have been double din, never had any problems, just didn't know about this one
@@robinparker99 Same here. When I ordered my Joying for my JK they sent me a bracket w/ it that was easy plug n play. Ran with that for a couple of months then I thought will I will get the double din since summer is coming and I could probably mount it more securely. No dice. It just didn't fit in my 2012 JK hole for the HU.
you rarely see boot screen because the unit is set to sleep, rather than turn off, when you turn off your car. you should turn off the sleep setting, it will drain your car battery if you don't use it for a while.
Great idea. Do you know where we navigate to in order to turn off this sleep setting?
@@JWard2 yes. It's in the settings menu, then tap the tools icon, enter code 3368 & it's one of the first options. I'll make a video.
It will increase the boot time to around 20 seconds but reverse camera functions immediately after vehicle is on.

It does not drain the battery in sleep mode, I've had a few Joying units over the years and never had an issue.
@@darkoz1692 it's great that you've never had an issue, but leaving it in sleep mode will drain the battery. you will need to start it every day and take it for a drive if you don't want a dead battery.
Can this integrate with the factory 360 camera?. Is this capable for 360 camera?. Do we need separate camera, mic etc with the radio?.Thank You.
It will not integrate with a factory 360 camera system unfortunately.
Is there a setting to keep Joying Unit display OFF by default when car is started. I only intend on using it as a backup camera and occasionally for Navigation. Thus I don't need infotainment system to turn ON by default when Car is started. I want to explicitly turn it ON
No such setting EXCEPT when it comes on you can swipe down from notification panel & there is a software button you can tap to turn the screen off. Which is usually how I drive at night, screen off, especially when I'm in suburbs and there's no street lights so I can see out easier.
However since this is running Android OS you could run an automation from one of the many automation apps possibly (like IFTTT, Tasker, automate, etc...) And set up an automation to automatically turn the screen off.
I've been looking for the setting myself because I don't like swiping down from the notification panel and then tapping the button to turn the screen off I would much prefer to type a button that I have set up on my home screen because it would be one less step to get to but so far I've been having trouble finding the exact setting. I have found the setting to turn the whole head unit off but that's not what I want. So if you find it please let me know

Yes it should. Unfortunately that will decrease brightness as well
I own 2 Joying head units, one is 11.6", just like yours, another one is 13.3". Both of them have a major problem: After driving for while, when using the airplay, the screen got pixelated then goes dark. After restart the vehicle or the head unit, everything comes back on. But this keeps repeating. I believe it has something to do with the software, perhaps the memory management software. Anther small problem is the system resets itself, clearing up my settings. Other then those problems, I love the head unit. I hope Joying will fix the problem by issuing firmware updates. Oh, The newest firmware for the 13.3" is very buggy. The screen goes dark after 15 minutes of using. I had to reverse it back.

Looking to buy the 11.6 for the 07-13 tundra.. assuming they are the same, does this model have that hidden HDMI input that joying likes to put inside their head units?
The model in my video above is the 2021 android 10 model. The new model I have does have the HDMI hidden in the housing of the head unit.

How did you disabled the touch screen beep sound on this model 11.6? this is getting me crazy and i cant find it where is it.
I think in the settings menu that asks did a password. Do you know the area I'm talking about? I think the password is 1168 if I remember right.
I use usb dongle connected to usb port for internet , it solves the band problem

It sure does! In fact it comes with two prewired harness so that it's plug n play. I learned about this when I went to install it. There were two plugs so I emailed them & they said one was for the alpine factory system & the other was for my factory plain system.

I just installed this 11.6 “ unit on my honda crv 2017 LX, evrything working perfect at the moment, except the back up camera. I connected the two yellow connection to the unit. Any help is welcome!
Hmm the only thing I ran into was that I had a manual. They require you to splice some wires for the manual.. idk about yours ..
A question.
For the steering wheel buttons to work, did you have to buy a CanBus Decoder dedicated to the Jeep Wangler?
Or just with the harnesses they sent, It worked correctly?

Yup, the harness they sent worked perfectly. I wish I could customize the buttons and remap them but they are pre programmed

@@TheItalianDNA well for my Jeep Wrangler they sent a canbus decoder. And with that it makes the install plug n play BUT it doesn't allow me to customize the steering wheel buttons as they are preprogrammed by Joying. Which is a bummer cause two buttons on my steering wheel I'd like to change their function

What up! Yes sir I did find a 3.5 mm Mic Jack extension and it worked perfectly.

Question how has the unit held up. When making a phone call does the mic cause static that the other person can’t hear u. I have a unit similar to this one on a 4RUNNER and have this issue. The unit I have very often the screen goes off and then back on. I have updated the is but issue continues
It's held up very well.
The Bluetooth calls is worthless for the person on the other end but I also own a Jeep Wrangler so it's loud by default in this Jeep 😅

I did not test it. I use Spotify & UA-cam music so I never tried the radio app

Yes very much. I have some videos on my channel about the 13.3. But man it was a nice upgrade.
There are two things that I miss about the 2021 joying head unit that is new 2023 unit hasn't resolved yet but other than that it's still worth the update to me.

Mine came with a mounting bracket. I messaged them on Amazon first using the link this guy pinned at the top of the comments then after they replied to my message I bought it and they sent me a bracket for my Audi. So message them to see if they have one for your Hyundai
Which can bus decode harness came with your radio? I ordered the double din joying and put it in my 13 jk wrangler. The harness it came with didn’t work. So I ordered the special jeep canbus decoder harness from joyings website and installed it today. Steering wheel controls still not working.
When I ordered mine I put in the order notes 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU & they they shipped it in the same box as the headunit.
But in hindsight I wish I would have gotten my own. Because then I could have custom mapped each steering wheel button to what I want it to do.

In 2019 I bought a 10.1 JOYING Headunit, it was sent back after unexplained issues in less than two weeks despite being professionally installed. Thankfully I got my money back and currently have a Pioneer 9 inch headunit which has worked flawlessly for over two years.

No I did have to buy their Jeep Wrangler plug n play harness for their headunit as well.
But your car may be different if you don't have a Jeep Wrangler

I have this unit too and it comes in English even if you reset it.
I'm not sure about the factory ringtone but I'd imagine it's possible in the android file settings
Did I mention I love this headunit? It's amazing for the price. Does so much more than the alpine, Sony, pioneer, Kenwood, etc...

Couple of questions. Does the new Joying with 8gb ram actually support wireless CarPlay? I currently have it with my alpine 7" ilx-207 but would like to upgrade to this due to size and the cost of 550 is pretty nice but just want to make sure and not sure if you know what the startup time is for it. Also, would love to know about the blacked out trim on the dash gauges, knobs, etc.
Unsure on the new 8gb one. I've got the 6gb one.
As far as wireless Android auto or car play... Personally I cannot figure out why anyone would want it. The unit itself is Android and that is way more powerful than using Android auto or car play. So much more can be done through the HU as opposed through either of those apps.
Side note, the microphone is trash if you're going over 60mph. FYI if you plan on calling anyone at those speeds. I just pick my phone up & put it to my ear the old fashion way.
The black trim is something we do custom for customers ☺️
They send us their gauges, trim, knobs, etc... We sand them, hand paint, & ship them back

Yes I removed them & painted them. I do it as a side job for extra income for local people or those that want to mail their pieces in.

It does! However, I've never tried it.
I didn't like the idea of being distracted getting a text message & seeing it on my headunit pop up through car play / Android auto so I never went through the trouble to setup.
My other argument here is why would anyone care about apple car play or Android auto when the headunit itself is an entire Android operating system with it's own navigation, etc...? (I can certainly see a reason being text messages)
But for me I can do so much more on the headunit where as Android auto or in this case apple car play has the ability to do.
Hope that made sense. I should really make a video explaining more of what I mean in this regard

Will the GPS NAV work if you do not have your phone hot spot on?
Yes it does if I pre-download the maps ahead of when I go off-road.
It will also do decent if I did not pre download the map as long as GPS has good line of sight

It does have Android auto & apple car play but I'm not sure on the mirror link. Have you tried contacting Joying?
Mint mobile sim cards work amazingly at least on my 11.6 and I'm in las vegas. They use t-mobile towers. I noticed that main providers don't work but the smaller ones work good
Yes that's true! I used them for a bit on my Joying & enjoyed it. Then I decided to use my hotspot on my phone going forward.
@ElevatedVehicles I use both. I went through 40gb of data in my car on mint and it slows down too much after that point to load apple music

Ok, I got my Joying 11.6 Head unit in the mail this weekend. Where did you all end up putting all these antennas That go on this thing. I have a GPS antenna. and two 4G antennas Screwed into the proper location on the unit. But where do I mount the antennas in the Vehicle???
GPS antenna goes anywhere that you can fit it. I put mine in my headliner so it's hidden.
The 4G antennas you do not need unless you plan on installing a SIM card in your unit. (Which most will never do when our phones have hotspots -it doesn't make sense to have another "phone line" on your cell phone bill for your headunit)
I put the 4G antennas inside the plastic trim on the windscreen pillars and stuck the GPS antenna in the top corner of the windscreen.
my screen isnt that big but mine is 10.5 and i like it but the only down side of my headunit is everytime i go somesome where i want to use pandora or what ever my internet disconnected but i connected it to android auto but it disconnects that too can u help me keep my internet connected or what i can do to play music video or just music
I use my WiFi hotspot and never use Android auto since the headunit is Android itself I just use the headunit and never plug in my phone for Android auto.
My internet and all apps run well with no issues this way

Sure can. Although for maximum adjustment it's best to get the single din.

I got the double din and I'm at the highest point after moving the adjustment inserts on the back of the unit. Next time, I'll get the single din. Cause I got very lucky I didn't need to go any higher

@@AJamesCo there was a slight wobble on my 2021 head unit I got 2 years ago (extensive videos on my channel on that one) but I cured it by installing D weather stripping on the dash right where the slight wobble would occur. Couldn't see the weather stripping since it was behind the screen so I was very pleased with my idea.
My new 2023 double din doesn't wobble though.
If you use the cable to connect your phone to the unit, is that considered tethering?

Where did you get your steering wheel gearshift knobs? Is that push to start ignition aftermarket?
It is! We sell the steering wheel, the shift knob, & the aftermarket push to start. We're new to market. So I don't even have a digital store front up yet.
Currently I just sell on Facebook marketplace, eBay, & local Jeep club meets.

Agreed. The screen would be better matte but then, admittedly, you'd lose some clarity.

Hi Jesse. Yes, if you decide to order one let them know the year make & model of your vehicle and request the Jeep wrangler PnP (plug-in play) harness and mount. They will ship you a mount that just slots right into our Jeeps.
The key is to put the message in your order when you submit it or you'll get the universal headunit w/ no bracket for the Jeep.
The one I bought is this one amzn.to/3Dm9cIV but they sell different sizes.

Can you expand on how you automated the Wi-Fi hotspot to automatically engage when Bluetooth connect to the joying hu? Is this possible with iphone? Trying to find a solution for how to get mine connected without spending monthly on a dedicated SIM card.
Certainly.
I've got a Samsung and I'm using an app called smartThings which allows me to create automations.
Surely apple has something similar I'd imagine

You're welcome.
Mic wasn't that hard to install. Running the wire up the A pillar was the hard part.
But the mic is not that great for Bluetooth calls.

@@wallheadkdir I finally pulled the trigger and bought one of these Joying head units for my 2010 Wrangler Unlimited. If you're somewhat of an old head like me and value sound quality, then I would suggest getting a Pioneer of Kenwood head unit. To me, the sound quality is not good. The sound is almost like any typical Android head unit. I was able to bring some life out of this head unit by upgrading all of the speakers and adding two 12-inch subwoofers in the back, plus I spent an hour tweaking the audio controls to make this head unit sound remotely close to flagship head unit.
What push start system did you use for the Jeep ?

Hows the sound quality? I'm debating on replacing the Pioneer HU in my JK with this.
@@sk1ppman exceptional. The video you're watching here is the older unit from 2021. Which was only pushing 2v out of the pre-outs.
If you look in my channel at my other videos that are newer you will see the new 2023 Joying version. And that one has been tested to push out 5-7 volts for the pre-outs.
All that to say this: check out my newer videos on the newer head unit.
Why anyone would stick with name brand head units is beyond my compression. These no name brand Chinese head units are absolutely killing the game the past 3 years for less money & provide way more features
I will do that. I thought this WAS the newer unit. The ability to run Torque and off road maps is the killer app for me. Like you, I use UA-cam Music off my cellphone almost exclusively.

The newer unit is brighter & thinner as well. So I went bigger & moved up to a 13" screen

O yes that's the one in my pinned comment link. Mine is the first gen 11.6" screen that has the bigger bezel.

Either way you can't go wrong with a headunit running Android OS. It allows so many more options compared to main stream expensive headunits

Speaking of cell bands. Whoever made this is silly, since they have the access to all the hardware to install all the bands for the unit to receive for the US Market and yet they don't do it. Even install the international module would help a lot. If they have access to phone cell band modules, they definitely can definitely install that piece of hardware.
Man I agree. Would have been nice to have all the cell bands. What I recently did was remove both of my 4g cell antennas off my vehicle, removed the plug inside the unit & I did this to cut down on the heat the motherboard sees.
Now I use my Wi-Fi hotspot which automatically turns on when my phone connects to the headunit via Bluetooth
@@ElevatedVehicles The only thing that works for data and connected consistently is the wifi. I have the 4g lte and sim card is rated for up to 5g. However the device doesn't get 5g and the 4g lte is pretty much being transition over to 5g. So technically no connection and find something once in a while. But that probably it doesn't have all the 4g lte bands in the US.
@@kito1san agreed. I bought a SIM card and tried it for 3 weeks in the headunit.
The coverage wasn't the best due to missing the bands.
I will say they have an update for this unit that will allow you to tether a phone just for data & that seems pretty cool. I haven't tried it though
What do you use to mirror phone to screen?
Nothing.
I don't apple car play nor Android auto.
In my opinion there is no point when the headunit is, itself, an Android. So I don't mirror my screen or anything. What you see in the video is the unit itself ☺️
@@ElevatedVehicles I get you. However, it's nice to mirror your phone as it was one of the selling marketing and it's technically capable. No I am not referring to Carplay or auto android. Just phone mirroring. Mine comes with the app called carbitlink but it doesn't work and stuck at registration.

It's an app built into the Joying software

@@JWard2 I think it is the best looking car launcher but google map doesnt work proppely on my Joying Snapdragon model so Im wondering how is it gonna be on the non-snapdaron models...

I reset it on the instrument cluster, not the Joying

Yea but it's not really Android 12. Just says it in the system until you dive into the kernel

Now that update did bring USB tethering to a cell phone which is a huge deal because now we don't have to rely on join to make sure they have all of the 4G 5G and 3G bands built into their head unit. Which can get very pricey for them. Now we can just use data from the phone attached to the USB cable. Of course there's also the Wi-Fi hotspot from the phone that could be used as well but that really eats away the battery

I now on the update Joying pushed out they have software buttons they added on the screen itself.
I've also heard on other Joying HU versions there are physical capacitive buttons around the screen.
All in all I'm impressed with them. Just wish for an OLED screen with high nits of brightness & some other small odds and ends.
@Chris Andrew agreed. I was unable to use my veepeak obdII dongle so I sold it & bought an icar pro & it paired fine with the Joying.
It seems they lock (or tried to in this case) their Bluetooth so people would buy their Joying branded obdII.
I don't care for practices like that.
There's a thread on XDA forums that supposably walks people through how to root (in iPhone terms it would be jailbreak) the Joying headunit.
I wish I could find it cause I would do just that with my headunit

There is no volume knob on the screen anywhere for a cleaner look 😎

That's correct! I take the trim pieces off the steering wheels here locally for Jeep owners and paint them & sell my labor for paint them.

So I bought this unit for my 2017 Jeep wrangler sport unlimited and it’s a plug and play and it came with a vo2 wire I’m not sure what it is? I bought a joying AHD back up camera latest version night version car reverse camera back up camera 1080P from Amazon and not sure where to connect it to on the unit?
@@mikemorelos7132 I see. For the camera I tapped power from the rear power outlet in the trunk of the Jeep. This way the camera always has power while the Jeep is on even if I'm not in reverse. This allows me to turn on the rearview camera while in drive.
Then I ran the RCA cable under the carpet all the way to the back of headunit and plugged it into the plug n play harness. As for the blue vo2 wire join us on the Facebook group called Joying owners (I think that's the name) & post your question there with a video or photo of the wire you're talking about 🙂
