The desert's loving it, all the rain this year. And abundant green plant life, so much so that a steer can find plenty to graze on. When I bbq, I slow cook chicken halves over wood, 20 minutes a side. 120 minutes total cook time. Great little scenic spot, take care and travel on !!

How can cactus wren sit on a cactus? The same reason a coyote can run through a patch of desert where a dog can’t go, or at least not a dog with any sense. Or why a pack rat can carry a cholla ball in its mouth without harm, or why a hawk can perch on a saguaro in perfect comfort. Actually, a hawk has leathery feet and tries to plant its toes between the spines. And there is the matter of weight. A cactus wren, although good-sized for a wren, is light enough to perch on cactus spines without applying enough force to get impaled. The cactus wren is a fairly interesting bird. It is, of course, the state bird.
Never seen the desert look so beautiful. I left lush Alaska and found the desert to be depressing, because it seemed so barren and lonely. That was picture postcard perfect. 👍🏻

Hey Brian..camped up in the Superstitions a month or so ago. Beautiful area.. definitely will return there. Had visitors like that twice a day when I camped at Indian bread rocks..big herd of them. The desert is lush this year.. especially beautiful on the way to Organ pipe across the Indian reservation. Take care and enjoy your journey 😁👍✌️
