Hi Everyone, I had a lot of fun filming this video as I’m sure you can tell 😂 I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it. Cheers Brenna 😊
This is the first video I have seen of yours ☺ you are very natural and down to earth. A refreshing change to the instagram Van lifers. Was so easy to watch, your pee bottle is gorgeous 😂 most people would probably just think it is a water bottle you are filling. Your dog is lovely too 🐶 ☺ 👍
This is the first video I've seen as well, and I agree completely! Your lovely lighthearted personality shines through the entire video! And I love how you "let the sleeping dog lie"...she's precious!😊
I had seen someone use a pressure gallon garden sprayer for their showers. They set it in the sun to heat up a little. They pumped it and was like a hand held shower. Also it's small enough not to take alot of room. Love you taking us along on your journey!
For showers, we use a Craftsman 20v garden-sprayer. We boil water on the Coleman propane two-burner camp-stove in four-quart pans, then dump it straight into the hopper. Usually, four pans-worth gets it mostly full, then we top the hopper with another gallon or so of ambient water. . For a simple luxury shower buy a 5 litre weed sprayer and cut the nozzle arm short. Put warm water in, pump up and you have a pressurised hot shower. The unit will easily fit in your bucket for storage and is also great to spray your face on a hot day :)
I actually started with one of these but it was too bulky to store in the van so it didn't make the final cut. My bucket is collapsible and it stores neatly behind the drivers seat
There is also one that pumps that only holds about a liter or so . I know you know you can shower or bathe with very little water. There are several different brands depending on what you want to spend. These really feel good on your face on a hot day mixed with a little peppermint oil. Have you ever used the cool sport towels that wrap around your neck to keep refreshed on those hot airless days? They are very small but work quite well. There are also cooling pads for your pet.
Oh my, I’ve only just discovered your postings & I’m loving them! You are such a breath of fresh air! Thankyou from a (post) menopausal bloke from the UK ☯️🙏🏽🕺🏽💃🏼
You are so refreshingly real! Thank you. As a woman on her own some things can be a little daunting to try for the first time. After watching and listening to you I am more confident that I could do many more things that make life more comfortable.
First time viewer. My suggestion is so simple. Keep your elastic bands on a bottle of lotion. They are handy to see the different sizes and when you have slippery hands after using the lotion, the bottle won’t slip. My rubber bands usually come from produce i buy.
Love how you said you didn’t think I would be able to put the shower tent up etc - sister from another mother! I always lack confidence with anything handy and new …but the more I try things the better I’m getting
Hi Dot, I actually have a fan that has it's own lithium battery I can charge. It runs for about 8 hours on the low setting and It charges by USB so I can plug it in to one of my small power banks to have it run even longer
I absolutely love your little table! I know you've possibly already seen the shower head that u can use, i have one. It has a little pump that you just drop into a bucket. It keeps its charge long and just has a little button that you push when u want the water to turn on. It folds up small too. Thank u so much for your video and hug your sweet fur baby for me❤
You are a remarkable woman Brenna❤❤❤❤I love how artistic you are❤❤❤❤thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤ I’m also trying to watch your older videos ❤❤❤they are so awesome and informative with all kinds of tech, tricks and ideas and many many more❤❤❤❤thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤
You are DEFINITELY NOT a dork!! 😁🌹. There’s nothing dorky about livin life and enjoying yourself! I THINK you need to invite your sister to stay with you for one week to experience the freedom you have! I’m betting she would LOVE IT!! ❤️🌹🌹👍👍😁. (Put a little tent right outside your van on a campsite somewhere and you both have your privacy when you want it! )
One tip for the multicharger... Put it in your bag with all your devices attached and then go to a coffee shop/library or wherever and ask to plug in... They think you are charging one device😂. I learned that travelling with kids ..even managed to charge 8 devices at a McDonald's 😂
I watch A LOT of van life video as I want to live that life one day, and it’s so nice to see something a little more real. The pee jug is beautiful and such a simple idea. Also that shower tent was fantastic.
Hi Brenna, YES! I can relate to ignoring things about my van until it gets too bad. I'm impressed with the new door. My door makes quite a noise when I open and close it. Love the way you painted the pee jug. I think your table is a good idea. Well done. Abby is a good girl.
The best things I brought this year was these Storage Cases that hold all my cables, USB, laptop, Phone, Phone Charger, Torches etc from ebay...they keep everything in 1 place no more hunting lost electrical gear keeps everything dry, clean, safe wish I'd brought them sooner...and the Beach Soul Shower so easy to use, get a nice long hot shower, easy to store...and plastic storage bags (clothes, shoes, towel, linen) keeps everything organised, dry, mould, damp free, clean and reduces the need for cumbersome boxes...I've lived in a Hiace and now a 10ft Van Space is a premium so I'm the Queen of being organised and hate clutter
We have the shower tent, collapsible bucket and a USB charging shower. It has two speeds and is compact. It is excellent and only £30. I think you’ll find this very helpful.
We have the shower tent as well & I completely understand how intimidating getting it back in its sleeve can be. We use a sun shower bag - a dark colored bag with a shower nozzle attached. It warms up quickly when set in the sun & holds enough water for 2 people to take quick showers. Highly recommend it.
Another great video and helpful to see what little bits are worth the investment. You may have heard this before, but watching you hammer the pegs with the hammer I want to suggest getting a rubber mallet. I find my mallet doesn't glance off the top of the pegs as much and it is a lot easier on the wrist than a heavy hammer. Sorry for the unsolicited advice if you've already considered this! Thanks for the great vids.
Brilliant upgrades Brenna. I learn a lot of good ideas from your videos. I am just getting started on Van Life myself so I watch all that I can when not driving around.
I clapped for you, when the shower folded in on itself. That's always such a great feeling, with that kind of wire band. And you did it with grace and assurance.
You are an adorable dork 😉 excellent video. I have seen people make an insulated refrigerator cover from reflectix and duct tape. Being a sewer I would probably sew one out of the insulated pot holder fabric. You could also cover your plywood table with contact paper.
I noticed how many times you pushed your glasses up on your nose because you were sweating at the time, and I am mediately thought that you might want to get a pair of glasses that have nose pads. It raises your glasses off of your face and cushioned your nose right by your eyes, but helps to keep them on your face and not down at the end of your nose. Just a suggestion!
Love all the upgrades. Well done on persevering with the shower tent - mine still slaps me in the face and knocks me off my feet. I still have a wrestling match with it when packing it up. 🙄 Table is a great solution for a small space. Dork or not, there should be more happy and authentic people like you. 😃
My recent addition was a ZeroBreeze Mk3 reverse cycle portable air con / heater .. with detachable lithium battery chargeable off solar panel, solar generator or 240V .. it’s been a powerful climate controller for the pets in the Mitsubishi Express Van throughout both winter & summer seasons ..
Rechargeable usb shower. Camping mattress light and comfortable A4 size pencil cases to fold my clothes into String bags for food hang from hooks Foldable tray table with short legs Corflute plastic cardboard walls attach with Velcro 3M squares. Easy to replace
When your hammering your tent into the ground ifyou hammer through the floor mat loop as well you won't have to worry about the floor mat getting all bunched up or shifting out from under you. I'm a new follower I just got here this evening but I'm excited to see what the futures holds for you and maybe myself once I get going...lol
Hi Erin, I intentionally don’t tie the floor mat down so when I have finished showering I can pull it out and hang it up to dry. I haven’t had any issues with it bunching up while I use it so far.😊
Such a refreshing view of a van lifer, I’ve enjoyed several of your videos, and you have some fantastic tips, and the simplicity of the upgrades, your an inspiration to others thinking of taking this journey in the future. Cheers from Geelong ❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺
what a great idea, to paint your pee jug, once I saw that, I thought it looked like contact paper, that's another option, using different patterned contact paper would work.
I hear you about how delightful a smooth running sliding door can be. I recently replaced the left slider middle hinge on my Fiat Scudo van after two years of having to heave on it and slam it to close. Very embarrassing during the night at campgrounds. Now it slides shut by itself if I'm parked nose down on a slope. Have to say I was shocked that your sliding door lower roller was $230. I thought spares for HiAces would be much cheaper. A tip to keep sliding door hinges in good smooth running order is don't, whatever you do, grease the rollers or tracks. That was my mistake. In fact, don't lubricate them at all. Grease and oils attract road grime which clogs and ruins the rollers. Instead, clean and dry the tracks each time you wash the van then give a light coat of silicon spray to the track and wipe it dry again.. Oh, and kudos for managing to pack that shower tent. I had one that regularly went home unfolded on the bed.
I think you’re an adorable dork! I enjoyed all your upgrades and your enthusiasm. Please get your glasses fitted so you don’t have to continually push them up on your nose. I had pair similar to yours and they drove me nuts until they fixed the ear part to hook and stay around my ear better.
Brenna, I love your upgrades! I need a roller!!! I have some tips for you :) if you get a black bucket with a lid and put it in the sun you'll have hot water for shower :) Also, you're glasses are cute, but it would blow you're mind if you got some with nose pads. You might not know it, but you are pushing your glasses up in the video every minute. I used to have those kind, and did the same thing. The plastic slides on the nose, but the different kind with change your life!!!!!!❤
Hello I'm happy I stumbled upon u on UA-cam n no your not a dork I think your a fun happy person creative n brave keep the videos coming great upgrades God Bless
3 1 litre bottles in wine coolers as grey or yellow water. Each plastic bottle has detachable top plus 1/3 way from the top unscrews for cleaning. Fits into cup holders or hang from large hooks by the wine cooler handles
Brilliant. Such a good video. And thank you for showing me how the pop-up tent collapses. I would’ve been forever trying to figure that out. My only suggestion is not to you, but other people is why not take those flat TV tray tables and cut the legs lower. If you put two of them together, you got quite a table you could even cover it with a table cloth if you wanted disguise it. Safe travels.
Get yourself a Mallet. So much easier to tap hooks in the ground with ease. I use to use a hammer. Did not see all the fuss with a mallet until I bought one. Two hits and the hook is in the ground. I get the embarrassment with not knowing how to put it away. It does take practice. Well done for persevering. Definitely get your dog a gel cool mat. Happy travels, stay blessed. Nice upgrades. It is a ever changing and upgrading process in small spaces. I am still adapting things as part-time car travel in my car as a micro camper. UK 🇬🇧 solo female. Your not a dork, it is your passion and life. You enjoy it, nothing wrong with that, your not hurting anyone.
hey brenna get yourself a tin of spray grease and every few months give the slider and the roller a spray you dont need much a can will last you a couple of years. i have a van the same as yours and i do mine now and then its great
Awesome idea shower tent. A motion nack to folding it back up. Love the size, pockets, leaving a bit unzipped for air. Lol lol about your door. Woohoo. Well done. I would think the fridge cover would help. Very artistic pee jug.
First time I have seen you. A fellow Aussie here soon to embark on van life and looking for great ideas. One of my own ideas is using a blue empty cold power just as my pee jug. No one can see what is in it, and taking a laundry bottle to the bathroom is also a disguise. The best part though is there is still the nice fragrance of the washing liquid that has penetrated into the plastic. This smell lasts for a year or more. I found this hack when I moved to a new house that needed renovating before I could live in it, so I stayed in my caravan that had no toilet. Look forward to seeing more of your video. Thanks for sharing.
Ecoflow has come out with a addon charger that hooks up to your van battery and when the van is running the EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger can charge your Delta pro power bank in a few hour's. Also if you ever run down your van battery the EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger can reverse charge your van battery by using your Delta pro power bank.

Love the Table 😊
You are a great, adorable, energetic presenter. 😊
Thanks Pat😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's us dorks that make the world go round🎉
So true 😊
People sometimes use the shower tent as a toilet room as well.
Yes, I have seen that 👍
Finally, an Aussie van lifer I can follow and love. Hi from Sunny Queensland.
Well hello there 👋
Get yourself a Mallet.
I’m pretty sure “dork” is being used affectionately by my sister.😊
I love the way you referred to yourself as a Dork and your having fun. Just awesome. I love it xxx
Thanks, it’s the only way I know how to be.😊
Some good ideas, making notes, the table idea is awesome, thanks Brenna!
hey brenna get yourself a tin of spray grease and every few months give the slider and the roller a spray you dont need much a can will last you a couple of years. i have a van the same as yours and i do mine now and then its great
Great ideas - the table blew me away ! So smart, so functional 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 good for you ❣️🇨🇦
It was such a simple solution 👍
Awesome about the charging you can do while charging. SOS what a great addition.
Totally agree!
Love the table idea! A real space saver 👏🏼🦋⭐️🧡
It really is!
Awesome idea shower tent. A motion nack to folding it back up. Love the size, pockets, leaving a bit unzipped for air. Lol lol about your door. Woohoo. Well done. I would think the fridge cover would help. Very artistic pee jug.
Glad you liked it 😊
O my you are so sincere and cute Brenna, a joy in this world ❤️✝️
Thank you 🙏
❤ God bless you in your journey I want so bad to do this myself but I am disabled and I use a electric chair to get around with
It is easier (for me) to tap the tent pegs in using the side of the hammer instead to the head. 👍
Great tip!
LOL, I'm a dork, too, life is more fun that way. Lots of good ideas, thanks for sharing!
Yay to fun😊
Thanks Brenna, always a pleasure to watch ❣
You are so welcome!
I love the van, and I absolutely love your hat. I love bucket hats.
Thanks! My hat is very worn out now and I am on the lookout for a new one.
I love your table. Quick and easy. 😁
Glad you like it!
having fun is a really good thing! enjoy! tyfs :)
Thanks, I try not to take life to seriously 😊
Awesome to see another Aussie traveller on UA-cam and love that I know the stores you mention!
More to come!
😂you are terribly casual and funny. Thank you for sharing. Keep on trucking.😂
Thank you, I will
First time I have seen you.
Welcome!😄
Ecoflow has come out with a addon charger that hooks up to your van battery and when the van is running the EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger can charge your Delta pro power bank in a few hour's. Also if you ever run down your van battery the EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger can reverse charge your van battery by using your Delta pro power bank.
Sounds Great
So glad I found this channel
Welcome 🤗
