this same problem has happened more than a dozen times and yet this cage diving tour operators still make cages with HUGE openings even though they know that if a shark goes in by accident it can't swim backwards and it would be stuck .The perfect definition of idiotism - "repeating the same action over and over and expecting to get a different result every time" LOL

Aria G. Absolutely, I feel more for the shark than the people of I'm honest. It's in its natural habitat hungry gets attracted by chumming and ends up stuck in a man made shoddy badly designed cage! The cage has to be safe for the shark just as much as the people!

A recent investigation into diver safety has been published and the investigation found that all shark cages were manufactured by one of three major manufacturing companies. And all three manufacturing companies were owned by the same parent company. And this parent company has a board of directors consisting entirely of sharks.
This is why all shark cages have a wide bit at the top so the shark can get in.
