this was recommended to me. basically on the 10th year anniversary of the video... WOW how times have changed. looking at 4k in something that size nowadays
well you could literally just desolder the sensor on the inside and replace the whole thing with a 4k sensor of the same size
Event though I wouldn't be buying this camera, I was curious and saw the whole review with full attention.......so a very professionally done and very professional voice the likes of which we get to hear on TV channels

This camera would be great for lego stop motion to capture low angles that are hard to reach with bulky cameras.

Be careful buying this on ebay. What I got was advertised as the same thing but in reality was a very cheap knock off. It takes terrible photos and videos… buyer beware!
Yep... same thing happened to me.
Yup. Bought mine a week ago. Thought maybe it's the memory card I'm using.
Bought a Sandisk Class 10 one and still got under 50 KB pics and its 1MB per Second for video. Bad audio and quality.
Also, can't delete time stamp.
What have we learned? If it's coming directly from China.. it's worthless. Now everything is made in China don't get me wrong.. including the IPhone.. but those products have to meet design type specifications through the company before it gets shipped to them for distribution. If we buy directly from there though .. it's nothing but trash.
Well, I chose a UK seller. So still got mugged.
Managed to get like 70% refund.

Yeah, I ordered the 8 megapixel version of this camera and it looks utterly horrible compared to your footage. The resolution is there.. but the colors are blurry and grotesque, and nowhere near as sharp as yours. The Chinese sweatshop strikes again..
Just get a Mobius actioncamera, and never look back on this one again.

Thanks for sharing this video! I really enjoyed the way you presented the comparison. Your speech timber, cadence, inflection and amplification were all spot on. I have a question outside the scope of the content. I was curious, what video editing software did you use to produce this clip? I'm mostly interested in two fun features found in it. They were the side-by-side comparisons and the frame-within-a-frame views. For me, those attributes really made your video a step above the ordinary.

Great review, thanks. I like how the HD808 looks like an ordinary key fob, I think overall it performed better too.
Overlaying music during the motorbike ride audio test made the comparison a bit difficult.

I love your videos and I subscribed recently to your channel. Regarding this camera, I just want to make a comment about the resolution. In my experience, these days, many (usually Chinese) manufacturers tend to use this, what I consider to be a marketing trick and when they sell their video equipment, they state it's capable of higher resolution than it actually is. They've come up with something called a native resolution. This goes for cameras, but video projectors too. They put a 640x480 sensor on a camera, but record a 720p video. And sometimes even 1080p. Given the results, I was wondering if you'd be able to test the native resolution of the camera i.e. the sensor.
For a small camera like that, the video quality looks awesome!

...Great explanation on these mini cams, very well done, wish you could do explaining on all electrical product usage; you do it in a simple and understandable way. You should hire yourself out to electrical product advertisers in how they work etc! Best I've ever seen, GREAT JOB!!!

@irishgt The Chobi One costs £190 (or it did 6 months ago when I made this video). The cameras you are seeing on other websites are cameras that Look Like the Chobi One - but are not the Chobi One. This camera that is being reviewed is a Y3000 - it is also a Chobi One look-alike camera . This is explained at the beginning of the video.

It is pretty amazing how far these two camera’s have come from what were larger camera’s in the last century, but I wonder why they do not have anywhere near the 12 camMP of the mac and the even better camera’s on a google or windows device. BUT although these have apparently no means of shooting and viewing they are an excellent standby camera, and I would like to see the arrogant people chin hit the floor when if it is possible to show these videos and whatever possible damage might have happened in a shunt! After the arrogance of some may have though you held nothing that worked fine enough to get credible detail?
Thank you for your video and I have subbed for when you get the - - 10 cards. I find it a little disconcerting the video cannot be viewed as its taken, so if this was to change for the better it would make all the difference, but then unless you have a really expensive watch to try this, any device is going to be at least as large was a phone which would make them by comparison not any advantage you know?
Take care and I have to say apart from the fact it is not possible to view whilst filming the cost at under £40 makes this a really handy camera.

Just ordered the808 #18 with the TV out functionality. I plan on disassembling it and mounting a bigger battery and a lens cover than incorporating it in my motorcycle helmet. I heard somewhere that there were pins on the board for more buttons, so i will investigate that claim :) Great reviews, keep up the good work!
