Absolutely love your videos. I'm so glad I went for my Hero 3+ Silver. I was really miffed when I started watching the SJ4000 video but as it went on I realised I made the right choice. I use it on the motorbike so needed the quality from all aspects of the camera and mounts (and a warranty). Total cost was £190. Don't get me wrong I'm all for cheap alternatives from the darker side of China land but very chuffed with the GP. Keep up the good work and try and review absolutely everything ever please. :)

I bought the SJ4000 two weeks ago. It surprises me in term of quality for the low price that I paid. SJ4000 is the obvious choice.

There's no chance of that happening. However I've got a list of recommended cameras on my website....and all it takes is a day or two of your time to watch every last torturous second of each of my overly-long videos to get to the information you need.

Hi can you make a video on what is your most favorite mini cam and why.... I would really appreciate it.... I want to buy a mini cam for regular site seeing and maybe even taking pictures but the videos look very identical, I am between the Sj4000, mobius and I believe the tlc... would greatly appreciate your input..
Thanks for the review. You mentioned that with either camera, you couldnt stream and record the video. But would be possible to use the vtx and transmit video to a vrx connected to an LCD screen and record it from there? Some LCD screens have a built-in memory slot for recording to the mem card.

Think you can do a review on the Pivothead video glasses? I would LOVE these for when i am on my motorcycle if they are good enough.

Thanks for review...I agree with a lot of your points, especially the sound......I have a question...is the "mic in" able to take a line level. This would be to over dub music to vision?? I sought of doubt it but had to ask you or anyone else reading the comments.

I've got a mobius and because of the lens I never knew if something was blocking the shot. Recently I bought a video tester for 35 euros and it works just great. I got the one with a wrist strap.

I just recieved mine. WDV5000 is not too bad a camera... for the low price. One serious bad design limitation: the recording led is hidden when in waterproof case so we cannot see if on/off or recording on/off. Can only see if using wifi with app.
Bottom line: very basic featured camera, not usable sound, limited video quality but usable.
What's very curious to me: I did some Googling on the Vivitar DVR794 and I'm relatively certain it's the same camera rebranded.
When I was going to Japan back in 2014, I wanted to bring an action camera. Of which I decided to get this particular one. i thought the video quality was relatively good, considering the price.
I think the image is cropped to the middle of the CMOS sensor in 720p 60 mode to avoid having to resize/downscale the 1080p picture to 720p. The internal processor is not fast enough to do that in 60fps but in 30 fps it can do it fast enough.

what camera/vid device would be ok at fpv? this one has a 20-30 foot range are the ones that have more?

I don't think WiFi is any use for FPV, the range out of a small camera like this will always be 20-30ft. For all you could ever want to know about FPV go yo the RCGroups forums. www.rcgroups.com/forums/index.php
So many of these cameras with similar designs, however I like the inclusion of a remote control on this one.

Just seen your comments about the SJ4000, I use Final Cut express to edit on my mac OS X from my DSR570, looking for a pov to add that spice to the product, I don't have a lot of cash to splash so could this one work with my workflow ?
Your review was very good and helpful, I got mine for about 60 euro from germany, but no body seems to be able to give advice for a microphone, I need sound and good quality sound as I film people and motorcycles.
If you can find a minute or two please help me out with this problem, as a Mic is a must

Now I'm gonna try it again to get a visual on my Android screen.
I bought this one way to expansive (I found out just yet) in a pawdshop.
There was no cable or install disc and the program I downloaded couldn't connect with the camera.
When I hit the correct button in the Wi-Fi section it asks me for a password of at least 8 figures.
Now that's were I get stuck every time.
I took out the SD card and connected that treu a USB hub to our t.v. and there we could watch what rubisch we recorded as we had no cleu of what we were doing while recording.
There was a little crack in the lcd screen when we bought it but it still functions.
I don't understand the connection parts that were in the box eighter because doesn't seem to match its purpose (like you said in the beginning of your video)
Overall I'm very disappointed and think I got robbed of €59,00 (witch at that point seemed like a fair price to me)
That day we also bought my new Huawei 6 smartphone of witch I'm very satisfied (such a stupid thing of me was that I exedently dropped it the next day leeving deep cracks in the screen) for only €149,=.
And a Vox loop ➿ mixer, but we found out at home within 2 day's it's not the mixer #DJLaukeSpatel needs, it's a controller and recorder with footpeddles for maybe a guitar or whatnot.
So that one is up for sale, brandnew (put on twice, recorded nothing).
Looking back I'll know well never buy there anymore and have to see this as expensive learning money.

Oh dear. I just purchased one of these. It should I say the Vivitar 794 as it's badged but its the same cam. I recently received a £50 curries voucher I didn't expect so only put £19towards the cam. Thay also had an other vivitar for £44. Ive not tried my cam out yet as I'm waiting for my sd card to arrive. If my camera has the same issues then I can see why its no longer on sale at curries ( I got the last ) they had and its no longer listed online.
How about fixing a red filter to the dive housing? And WHICH one? Where to buy?

By the way, may I ask you (or anybody else) one off topic thing? Do you know some video service that allows playback of 60p videos? I recently got an iPhone 5, and some apps let you film in 720p 60fps, and I love them, specially for videos where there is action, like playing with my dog :). But services like UA-cam or Vimeo down sample the videos to 30fps, so they look "normal" again :)
Anybody has a solution to share videos like these with family and friends?

I bought the Sj1000 about 3 months ago an they solved every problem that the older model had and I can say that in my opinion the new SJ1000 is still better than the SJ4000 ( I can make a video if you want ) as an example :
the new SJ1000 has the same mounting options like the SJ4000 ,
the front is made aut of metal , the lens ist much better , they solved the problems with the waterproof case , they updated the software and the build quality is much better now

I got one from China and I notice that when I try to format the card it doesn't. The botton up was broken after first 2 days in the box. The sepia and black and white don't work on the camera at least.

Whereas in my area the "goxtreme wifi" costs 85 € and the "sj4000" costs 120 € and I would do an occasional use of these cameras for shooting especially on dirt bikes and scooters.
For me is not very important the compatibility with gopro accessories.

I got this for $26 on ebay unused but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to record multiple clips. I try different things and settings but everytime I hook it up to the computer it shows just ONE video clip and all the others are gone. No matter the length. Connecting with my phone makes no difference. if i take multiple photos those all show up . but for some reason i cannot record multiple videos
