Thanks for the great review! This is very helpful. We also have a 65 inch TV. What is the depth of your mantle? I will try to compare it with ours.
I see when you tilt the TV it almost tilts its till the very end, which seems perfect for your configuration.
Welcome! Mantel depth 14”, just checked!
I was wondering what the measurements of space you are dealing with. Reason I ask is because I'm trying to see if it would work for us. I called them but they weren't much help. Our mantel depth is 10" and we only have a wall space of 41". Would be for a 65 LG Oled as well. I'm thinking it probably may not be enough space for us
I’d get the exact measurements from the TV box you want to buy. Then make a cardboard cut out of the TV and play with how it would fit and go up and down. That would be the most sure way to see how it will fit. Let us know how it goes!
@@fixitwithjake how many feet does it go down?
Thank you for this video! We’re contemplating this project. How do you know how high up to mount it?
Directions in the box told me. And they gave videos on UA-cam.
Thanks so much …really helped ..
Good to hear! We love ours!
thanks for this.. will it hold an 85 inch, 95 lbs
samsung tv?
These TV are heavy! I just mounted and installed a 75" and it was def not easy getting it up without some help. The video is using the 340. You will need at least the 540 model to carry the extra weight. The 540 handles 90lbs and 80" so not sure if the extra 5" will be an issue, prob not though. They also have a 700 series for up to 90" and 115 lbs. It will be so nice when you get it all installed! We use ours every day! amzn.to/3VNgDz9
Thanks for the video. How far is the back of the TV from the wall when the mount is fully retracted. I'm worried it will be a bit of an eye sore.
Not much. 3-4” I think. It doesn’t matter given my installation but if your hallway leads up to the TV from the side and sticks out, that could look funny. So really depends on your location.
With this mount are you able to raise the TV to about 80-90% of full height extension and have it stay in place without moving?
Yes. But it naturally wants to rest at either 100% height or 0% height. And by the way this video is NOT sponsored from mangel mount.
Thank you! I Need the TV to stay 9” away from the wall. Is there any way you could check if yours will stay at that position or automatically pulls itself up? Would save me a ton of time & unnecessary drilling before I mount it
Yes. I can go try that today and let you know how it goes!
OK I tested and it did hold away from the wall a good amount. But I’d like to send you some photos so you know this actually how that works out. If you email me, I can respond me some photos. Fixitwithjake at gmail.com
Hi,
Beautiful…
What TV Is That?
I Don’t Want A Cable Line Either.
Thanks. This is an LG Oled. The “Thin Q” version.
How did you mount through the over mantle decorative panel? Thanks
There are 2x4 wood studs behind this wood decorative panel. Tap lightly with a small hammer or your fist and you should be able to locate where yours are to suport the panels. Then drive a small thin nail in to double check their location. If you use a small nail, it is easy to paste and hide the hole. But at least you’ll be able to confirm where the studs are to mount the TV mount. You could also pull out the 120v power outlet if you have one and stick your iPhone in with the video recording and light in and use it to look around a explore how the wall is supported.
Let us know how it goes!
Hi, how far is the tv from the wall when in its position? And also, does it stop on any level you want or just all the up and all the way down only. Thanks!
I’ll test and measure for u tonight
Yes there is enough tension for it to sit at different positions other than full up and full down. It will depend on the TV but on my TV it sits 20 inches away from the wall and the down position and 7 inches away in the up position. That’s not from the mounting holes to the bracket that would be slightly less. Anything else?
@@fixitwithjake that is all I need to know. thanks for the info. 👍🙏
Does it tilt forward and back at all?
I just checked out the mount. I don’t see a mechanism for that. But I could be totally wrong and I would call the manufacturer and ask them. Why wouldn’t they want you to be able to tilt to up and down to get the best viewing angle?
@@fixitwithjake thanks for the quick reply
Yeah I figured it probably had that feature I just haven’t seen any example of it yet.
I’ll find out. Thanks!
5 and 7 do tilt 9 degrees. 3 does not tilt.
