    Really good video - very clear and helpful. But that music is way too loud and gets in the way of your explanation.

      Thanks for the feedback, and duly noted. Will keep the music subtle in the future.

    Great video with one issue the music adds nothing and is very distracting, especially because it's too loud compared to the voice-over. Glad to read that you're fixing that going forward.

    Thank you for the installation guide. Please consider getting rid of the background music as it detracts from your explanations as well as makes it difficult to hear when the video is played at a faster rate.
    Again, thank you for talk the time to make this video. It helped me with my own installation.

      I wish it was possible to edit the sound once the video was uploaded :) Fixed the issue in my later videos. Appreciate the feedback!

    I love your “Goldilocks” reference! I immediately thought of her when you showed the 3 bolts and then you said it!

    Excellent video with great tips and tricks to make installation easier! I just completed the install of the MM340. Installation was almost the same as the MM540. The MM340 is heavy duty and seems like an excellent product. Well worth the extra money. Thank you.

    Thank you so much for this video. I would’ve been able to install mantlemount without this. 😊.

    great video! You make it look easy. (for future videos, turn that background music WAY down. It is too distracting) Thanks for your instructions!

    Also how far out does it stick out at its middle point?

    How did you remove the bottom stop at 11:38? I just can't get it to come out. Excellent video, thanks!

    • @deepspeak2513
      @deepspeak2513  22 дні тому +1

      It has been a while, and the stop isn't there anymore, so I cannot be sure, but I think the bottom stop is a bolt with a nut on the inside. If so, then you have to use a pair of pliers or wrench to hold the nut steady and unscrew the bolt with a hex key or screw driver.

    Very Good Video, very well explained, I have mine here at home now I need to install it, I still need to add power above fireplace 😱, I have a 55" tv but i will like to use the specs of a 75" tv for when I upgrade i have a sound bar as well but now I don't know if the mount will withstand the weight 🤔

      Good thinking ahead! Their customer service might be able to help with the max weight limit.

    Deep Excellent Video! very helpful. Dumb question perhaps, you probably can't use your fireplace any more.

    • @deepspeak2513
      @deepspeak2513  4 роки тому

      Thanks! I can’t use it when the TV is lowered, but when raised it’s not any different from mounting it in fixed position above the fireplace- so it is ok to use the fireplace then.

    Thank you foe this. Just did an install trying to follow an outdated pdf because they didn't send me instructions.
    Watching this really helped me figure out how to correct my bad mounting height. And in general gave me a way better idea of the right way to install this mount.
    Can you show how you remove the bottom stop? I can't get anything on the inside to hold the screw in place. So it is not as easy as just turning the outside hex nut.

    Excellent video but why is your bracket sticking out from the top of the TV. Is your TV too small?

    • @deepspeak2513
      @deepspeak2513  3 роки тому

      Yes. This TV is 40” and the mount is rated 44-80”. It still works fine but the bracket sticks out. We planned to replace the TV with a bigger one so we were ok with it.

    Your wall plate is different with what the owner manual drawing has on MM website. Is this MM540? Very detail video!

    • @deepspeak2513
      @deepspeak2513  3 роки тому

      I believe they changed the wall plate afterwards, and they sent a survey after we bought ours. I voted for the new design that splits it into upper and lower strips. I would have much preferred that rather than the left/right split.

    Hi, good video. Question: how far does the TV stick out from wall when in the "UP" position?

    • @deepspeak2513
      @deepspeak2513  3 роки тому

      About 6". There is a dimension diagram on their website here cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0758/7331/files/MM540_SpecDiagram_03_2020_ph3.pdf?v=1584368211

    Deep, thank you for a great video. I followed this to mount my MM540. Is it okay to remove the bottom stop screw (my tv is 80 lbs) since it helps come down a few more inches? I am concerned about the load. Also, while moving up and down, it still requires some effort (not as light as I thought, maybe because of the tv weight)..and I am concerned if the studs can hold it well. I used 4 total screws (provided in the packages) for the studs. Thanks!

    • @deepspeak2513
      @deepspeak2513  3 роки тому +1

      I’ll give you my answers but I’m not an expert and MM customer support is fantastic - so please confirm with them before taking any action for your safety: I don’t think the stop screw bears any weight, so as long as the mount doesn’t hit a mantelpiece or shelf when the stop screw is removed you should be fine. As far as I understand, the maximum torque on the mount occurs when the TV is farthest from the wall and not at the lowest point. Regarding the TV weight, I’d make sure it’s counterweighted correctly so that the TV can be stationary in any intermediate position without moving up or down on its own. As long as that’s ok the mount/stud should hold the TV fine as it’s rated up to 90lbs and I’m sure there’s some safety buffer there. The hydraulics are a little stiff, probably intentionally, so it isn’t as light as perfectly counterweighted systems would be, even with my 21lb TV.

    • @tundrapeace7285
      @tundrapeace7285 3 роки тому

      @@deepspeak2513 thank you for the reply. Yes, I noticed the hydraulics are not as great as I thought, since it takes some strength to pull of the tv but still it can't counterweight the tv weight, so I can't stop in the middle and the tv feels a bit heave when it gets low (fully extended). I tried tightening and loosening up the hydraulics but didn't see a good balance. I will reach out to MM as well. Thank you!
