Just wanna say this product is phenomenal. Works exactly the way it should. As long as you use a stabilizer your gold. Right now I have it in my LTD EC1000 and my Jackson Rhoads RR24Q. Right now I have four springs in the back of both guitars as well as a stabilizer. The hex key free locking nuts are amazing too. Both are worth it. Don't sleep on this dive bombs friends!
Thank you Doug!
so a "stabilizer" is necessary?
Just received the product today.. works flawlessly on my Ibanez RG550! Thank you so much, this is probably the easiest and most effective mod for a floating bridge.
Great to hear!
I also have an RG550. Was thinking about installing this but wasn't sure it would work. Thanks for confirming that it will fit.
Got one of these yesterday, took like 10 minutes to install and works great. Was reading some people having problems. I think just make sure your tremolo is blocked somehow.
Thank you Steve for your support, greatly appreciated!
Hey Mark, I bought the ESP arming adjuster and Pitch Shifter for my Ibanez ('91 RG565) about 2 years ago. It has sat here and stared at me because the cavity needed a tiny bit of routing to accommodate the arming adjuster. Well, today was the day!! I installed both items and they work like a charm - it was a very easy install. Your video was very helpful and now I can have a trem guitar that I can use in standard and drop D. How awesome is this!!!! Great product and highly recommended!!!!
Thank you for the great review!
@@tonevise3834 just saw this video and i now want one. I have an Ibanez Jem with an Edge zero 2. Will it work with this trem?... Thanks.
@@tonevise3834 Mark - Does the Pitch Shifter work on Lo Pro Edge trems? I have a '92 RG570 that has a Lo Pro and would love to install the Pitch Shifter on this one too. Please let me know. Thanks!
Just installed the Pitch Shifter on an OFR. It replaced an EVH D-Tuna. I gotta say, I prefer the Tone Vise quite a bit more. The reason I replaced the D-Tuna was that stupid fine adjustment screw was never threaded right from the factory and would work it's way out constantly, so the E was never in tune. Also, with the D-Tuna there was a sweet spot on pushing it in. You could push it in too far or not enough and not be in tune. Once the Tone Shifter is set up correctly, it's basically either on or off. Tack on the fact that it fits in the Floyd cavity where the D-Tuna would need to be routed if you didn't want it hitting/denting your body.
Thank you Mchale72!
I agree with McHale72 👌
This is simply a superior design to the legendary EVH (rip) Detuna. Good job guys!
Thank you!
So this is basically the D-Tuna for an Ibanez bridge? That's cool. I think i might get one now.
I have ones for Floyd Rose tremolos too.
Ingenious! I need a few!
Let me know how many you want!
@@tonevise3834 I sent a message through Reverb!
I agree with some others that this should include 2 screws, one about 1/4” longer than what comes with it because if the saddle is forward adjusted, it’s gonna be too short and the Tone Vise body will hit the bridge. Gonna look for a longer screw tomorrow.
You ask and you shall receive. I'm now including a longer screw with the Pitch Shifters. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@tonevise3834 I have my Schecter floyd blocked to dive only. Can I still install this ? My purpose is to go from standard to drop d quickly. Thanks
Hi guys, just installed the lock nuts & pitch shifter soon. I am all for simplicity. Have you thought about talking to say Ibanez to bring a model out with both these items pre installed? That would be absolutely awesome
I have an ibanez rg but its not a double locking tremolo and i really like this product, it was like a 450$ guitar and i was wondering if it would still work on it. Its basically the same as that tremolo without the double locking. Will it still work on it?
Sorry, the tremolo isn't compatible with it.
I want to purchase red and black one for my Charvel floyd rose guitars Which one should I get??
Dude looks like Methos from Highlander.
That being said, I'm buying one as soon as I can. Would it work for tuning from D# to C#?
It should work.
I have a couple detunas and they can be a pain at times so gunna pick one of these up and try it out. Will it work to drop a step down to other tunings as well? For example from d to c? From c to b on a 7 string or b to a? Or it just works for e to d? Maybe a stupid question but it just came to my mind,I'm gunna try it out w a Detuna first and see if it works w those
It should work great.
After installing this do you need to keep your tremolo stabilized or can you release your tremolo stopper?
Love this guy. Had a D-Tuna on another guitar and this one is easier to deal with and doesn’t get in the way of the body.
yes.. you need.
are there plans to make these for ibanez edge zero tremolos?
Hi! So, with a Tone Vise PS you will only have a full floating tremolo when the guitar is dropped rigth?
And needs to be block to Dive only when tune in E rigth?
If so, can I make some change in the Tone Vise PS to make conversely? I mean to change the configuration and have my tremolo fully floated in E standard. And dive only in Drop D?
The trem will need a stabilizer or be set for dive only. This is true with any drop d tuner or even using the fine tuners. I have a new stabilizer/trem stop coming to market that is designed to be best in class. www.tonevise.com/
This is great can't believe I've never seen this wow ........p.s. I hope you sue the shit out of counterfeits
Nice gimmick!!! Especially since it is so insconspicious.
So the "spacing" or "blocking" geometry is out of the fine tuner screw's way? (Just want to make sure I got it right)
Do you think there will also be shifters for lo pro and lo trs like trems?
And where can they be bought best in Germany?
Properly installed it shouldn't rub the back of the fine tuner threads. The fine tuner does act as a stop though when in the E position. You can order them from my Reverb store for shipment to Germany.
@@tonevise3834 Hi, thank you for the answer. Didn't get any notification. So there will not be a solution for lo trs or lo pro?
@@cero815 Not at this time.
Can the back box hold it position if you take all the strings off
I just bought a Jackson dinky from 1989 and it has Schaller tremolo licensed under Floyd rose and this tremolo has shortened screws. Is there a solution to that type of tremolo?
It might but I couldn't couldn't guarantee that it will.
Am I correct in that you sacrifice the function of the fine tuner in the E position?
Yes, the fine tuner is used to tune in the D position after using the headstock tuner to tune to E when in the E position. I also offer the Pitch Shifter and one Keyless Nut Lock for use on the E&A strings for quick tuning using the tuners. To me this makes much more sense than having to first find, then use allen wrenches just to be able tune the E string at the tremolo or the nut. Especially if you're a pro playing live for a living on stage.
Having trouble getting mine installed correct. I video showing the side view would be helpful.
I installed mine it does the job it works
@@jcalzada74 show us a video of how yours works. im still trying to make it work floating
@@luisalextorres it won't work floating you need to use a tremolo stopper or block the tremolo some how i use tremolo stoper and on the back of the floyd rose need to be enough clearance for the device to work freely no obstructions at all on my case i shave down a little on the head of the pitch shifter like on a 45 angle didn't affect at all
Hello! Could you tell me will it fit Steve Vai JEM77P-BFP?
Would this work on a Floyd Rose special non floating?
Should work great, just be sure to use the Floyd Rose version.
So, I have an ibanez jbm27 with an edge zero II. Will that work on this bridge? Also, could I put two of these on my guitar to be able to drop both the b and the e strings
Ibanez probably didn't change anything on the bridge
Sorry, that tremolo isn't compatible.
Anyone know where I can find one of these? Thank ya! 🎸🎸
Would I use this since I have a gotoh 1996 or the one for Floyd roses?
If your Gotoh is recessed the Ibanez Edge will work.
Can you please make these for an edge zero ii trem?
I have a D-Tuna on a Floyd Rose and have always been told pitch shifting would not go well on a floating bridge, but only a dive only bridge. Otherwise balance gets thrown off. Which does not seem to be the case here. Can you share your thoughts on this?
You have to have the tremolo setup to either dive only or on a floating tremolo use a stabilizer with the Pitch Shifter and D-Tuna.
@@tonevise3834 What stabilizer is recommended?
@@Jerminator1984 Any will work. I have a new one going into production soon.
I have an Edge Lo Pro. Would it work with that? Very expensive to get an original Edge Trem..
Sorry, it won't work on a Lo Pro.
For edge pro? Would it work with that?
What I want to know is when the device is engaged will with throw all the other strings sharp? Also can I still use the whammy bar to pull back as well as down for divebombs. If you can guarantee me all this you have a new customer for life.
Doug, on any floating tremolo without a stabilizer if you change the tension on one string it will affect the others. Even using the fine tuners will cause this to happen. Try this. Screw the low E fine tuner all the way down then using a tuner tune the guitar using the headstock tuners. Once it's perfectly tuned using the low E fine tuner tune the string to D. Now check the other strings. You'll find they're all sharp. Using a stabilizer like I demo in the video, will keep it in tune and allow you to pull up still. This is how Vai sets his guitars up.
@@markhackett2740 What stabilizer do you reccomend?
I've been looking at the black box and temmory
I'm using a 011 string, so for the 6th string it's a 048. when I turn the pitch shifter to a low position, it only goes down to D# and doesn't reach the D tone. Is this related to my string size or a miss installation that I made? Thank you
Did you fix it? I have the same problem :(
You have to use a stabilizer like in the video or set for dive only.
Just wondering if the pitch shifter will work on a washburn wonderbar or my shift 2001 tremelo system?
Sorry, the tremolo isn't compatible with it.
Will this device mount to Gotoh 1996t? Information is hard to come by. Thx!😎🤘
I have one for Gotoh 1996T called the Pitch Shifter XL.
Will this work on an Edge Zero?
If you fine tune it to D when you’ve tuned the guitar in E won’t that fine tuning through the E out ??
Not at all.
Hi! I want to know if i put a stabilizer (not a tremol-no) the tremolo should go up and down even if i activate and desactivate the pitch shifter and be in tune? because i dont have any type of stabilizer yet, so when i activate the pitch shifter, the rest of the string get out of tune, so i want to know if the stabilizer can let me use the pitch shift with all freedom of the whammy bar and still be in tune
You have to use a stabilizer like in the video or set for dive only.
Hi! So an stabilizer will allow to fully use the tremolo with standard and dropped?
Or the only way to use the floyd fully will be the tremol no to Dive only?
@@alexmetal exactly, the tremol-no DONT have a stabilizer mode, only dive or fully blocked bridge.
Will this work on the Edge style fixed bridge on the ibanez 8 strings?
Sorry, it won't.
is this going to work also for a Floyd Rose FRX?
I have some customers trying them out on their FRX's. I'll let you know.
What’s is that locking nut called? You just flip like a switch and it locks and unlocks?
Sorry I'm late but it's a tone vise keyless locking nut
Does the drop d tuner come with a cap screw
Yes it does.
Hi guys. Would it be possible to fit this to a left handed Floyd Rose?
Yes, the will work on a left handed guitar.
Will this work on the Floyd Rose FRX?
Yes it will. Rick Pierce has one on his guitar.
does it work on a Schaller Tremolo (locking)?
If it's a Lockmeister get the one for the OFR. If it's the Schaller with the short screws I'm not sure.
Will this work on a Ibanez double locking DL type tremolo?
I think the XL version should work.
@@tonevise3834 also just wondering i have another DL trem but it isnt double locking, will it work too?
Does it work with Tremolo Edge Pro?
Sorry, no Lo-pro style trems.
Hi! Will this work with the floyd able to fully float using a Tremmory upgrade? Has someone tried this?
It probably will but I haven't tested it with one.
@@tonevise3834 Thanks!
Does it come a string saddle block
You can use the stock one that comes with the tremolo.
compatible with ibanez edge zero tremolo?
Sorry, no lo-pro style trems.
Can anyone tell me if this will also work on the Edge Zero II?
Only the Original Ibanez Edge
I'm sorry I'm sure this is quite a stupid question but just to be sure... You mean any kind of edge tremolo as long as they're original ibanez? I mean you don't refer to a specific model called "original edge"?
Okay thanks in advance I got the answer... There's no hope for my edge zero ii
@@bobbetto I'm referring to the very first Edge tremolo that came out in the late 80's. Like the one in the video.
Can you put it on all 6 strings? Asking so i can change to drop D to drop C faster
There's really not enough tension on the higher strings. You can only drop about a half step on the high E string. It has been tested to work on the lowest string of a 7 string guitar though. You could always use a set on my Keyless Nut Locks to tune down quicker.
I just meant from D to C on the 6th string. I usually play in DGCFAD so i thought maybe just on the one string that being the 6th string to go down to CGCFAD
@@basequeira Darth Phineas did a review on it and put in on a 7 string that went from B to A so it should work on yours. darthphineas.com/2018/12/tone-vise-pitch-shifter/
No mention of needing a stabilizer???? Do we need one to make the guitar stay in tune.
In the video at 0:36 details the uses of stabilizers.
Ty, Im new to this. So the stabilizer is just for the install and then you remove it??
@@Thesmartestmanalive81 It would stay in the guitar.
After its installed do you keep your tremolo blocked? Lol
You can set it for dive only or use a stabilizer as shown in the video.
How about on all 6 strings ?
Won't work. The high strings need more tension to tune.
Will this work with a Floyd Rose special?
Absolutely it will!
