I'm just curious, why haven't you started with Warcraft Orcs and Humans and made your way from there? Because even these games tie in with WoW. Especially Warlords of Draenor.
That's what gets me too. I've been finding out that a great deal of people that I know that love RTS games, youtubers, other gamers, they actually never played the campaigns of many of the old and classic RTS games. Most seemed to only be into the multiplayer aspect and that is what they did. Though I never had an internet connection good enough for it back then or friends close enough to LAN with so I always played the campaigns and then did random scenarios. Really it just seems weird to me that one gets a game that has single player as half the game, but doesn't play it. With any game that has both single player and multiplayer, I always play most of or beat single player before I even touch multiplayer.
Sonic Doctor Thank GOD there's someone else! I agree, I am just like that. For me the best part of RTS's are the Campaigns. Maybe I'm old fashioned, and I still remember the great RTS like Age of Empires 2 and this game, but for me, campaigns were why I played these games.
I absolutely don't understand how can someone play World of Warcraft without playing the old Warcraft III. There's no way how you can understand the story of WoW without ever playing WarIII. It's just rediculous.
MKlugy Yeah, I hate to be that kind of person...but it really bothers me when people get into a game and completely disregard the campaign/story, the meat of the game is how the story is woven, with the interacting characters and poignant situations. GAH! That's like skipping out on the Command and Conquer games and skipping over the cheesy, yet awesome live action cutscenes D:!!!
I love the music, don't get me wrong, but the implications that the cutscenes have across the entire game and everything bring back lots of good memories.
Warcraft 3 has excellent lore and the arthas storyline is great because shows his gradual progression into becoming the lich king on his crusade to take down mel'ganis, no matter what the cost.
If my dad were watching this, he'd tell you all about this literary symbol he likes so much. Passing through water. It's symbolic of traveling from one life into another. Just like Moses traveled through water to new life, now Thrall is guiding his people as well.
God, that starting screen brings back memories.... I can almost envision myself at my ex's desk all those years ago, messing with his games. This is a good deed you're doing, crendor, good on you; I think this is the best way for people to learn the lore, truly a good use of your videos. How anyone can wind up anything but an orc supporter after the bit at 1:47 I'll never understand.... so anyway, I really hope you don't end up as anything but an orc supporter by the time you're done, but Kael'thas is pretty adorable in this game, too.
***** I know I did it recently, but with Crendor's upload inconsistency it will take a couple of weeks to be finished and Crendor have never played the game, so it will take longer than a day for him, if he marathons it.
I really enjoyed Husky's playthrough of this awhile ago so I'm glad you're doing this too. Its fun watching people play this game, they don't very often :(
MaMastoast He's just got the final campaign to go. Although considering it's been forever since he last uploaded a video on it, it's probably for the best that Crendor's started playing it now. He'll probably end up finishing it before Husky does.
Thanks for playing this Crendor I recently started to watch a lot of lore videos as i knew nothing about WoW lore when I played it (I haven't played since before MoP) and wanted to get back into it for WoD. Many lore bits that are mentioned come from WC3 as it were so this should be informative.
no this is after Khadgar and Aegwynn killed Medivh, freeing him from Sargeras. Aegwynn resurrected the real Medivh after Sargeras no longer was within Medivh, and he came back to help guide the mortals to victory against the legion.
Xalarius Arcanite Khadgar, Llane and Lothar killed Medivh, Aegwynn was living in self exile in Kalimdor, but yes, she ressurrected him and he had no Sargeras in him after that.
***** That is what you think what happend. I have read way too many tinfoil hat editions of WoW lore to believe this :D Maybe Sargeras was still in him.
I've never read any books or novels, but Wc3 made me fall in love with Warcraft lore. It's never too late to play one of the greatest games in history. Hope you play the campaigns all the way till the end of TFT. ;)
Not sure about the dying mmo part. But I had very similar experiences as you. From I was 12 till I was 16 or so warcraft was THE game for me, maybe even longer. I'd love a warcraft 4
MaMastoast I think that Warcraft IV will probably become a thing once Blizzard finishes the Legacy of the Void expansion for StarCraft. All the same, that's still at least a good four or five years away considering how long the Blizzard development cycle takes.
Every few months I rewatch this, it’s one of my favorite games and the way you play it for the first time, even though I’ve seen this literally over 20 times, it really brings me back and makes me feel young again. Keep up the great work man!
Things you missed: a ring of protection in a side path, some golems in a side path and some forest trolls in a side path. Golems and trolls elicit a spoken reaction from Thrall. Also as an easter egg, there are a few bandits in the far north of the map next to a ship guarding a "Phat Lewt" that can only be revealed with Far Sight.
YES! YES! When I left a comment suggesting you to do a Lets Play series of Warcraft 3, I never expected you to actually do it. Nor am I suggesting that you've started this because of my comment, because you might well never have seen it. But I am so glad that you've decided to do this, because Warcraft 3 is an amazing game (my personal favourite game of all time) and I hope you will not be disappointed. Thank you Crendor.
I'm really interested in Warcraft 3... I recently got into DotA and discovered it was originally a mod of this, so now I'm having fun identifying who each hero used to be in warcraft. Apparenty, Rubick is the prophet. The aesthetic difference from Dota 1 to 2 is insane for him.
How about doing a warcraft 2 playthrough after this? IMO it has both better story/gameplay (and also because I watched Husky's playhalfthrough :D) And patch the game to play it in 1080p you... not nerd!
Disagree with you on warcraft 2 being better ^^ I much prefer warcraft 3. But I'd love to see a warcraft 2 playthrough nonetheless. But i think I'd like to see Jesse do it, and explain the lore while doing so.
Well I very much dislike the mandatory super heroes in your army and the fact that it's just about making a giant ball of death. You actually had to play it clever and also fast if you wanted resources, because they run out unlike in W3. Also orcs became lame. And too much personal dramas :X Akul Really? Do you know which ones? I played one that was voice acted a really long time ago and didn't know Jesse at a time so I wonder if it was that (but can't remember how it was called). Edit: And does anybody know how to reply to multiple people? I can only do it with one by clicking the reply.
TheNovicek WC3 was, in my opinion, much better of a game. Blizzard has learned from their launching of starcraft how to make asymmetrical races compared to the largely symmetrical races of WC2. I legitimately don't think the game would hold up as well as it did at the time.
Man, there comes up memories. Played it like 5 times through, loved the story, the characters, the gameplay, everything. It was a perfect game for me and still is. Still got it on the pc too.
I'm doing the same thing right now, just re-installed 3 and Frozen Throne, and they're still as fun as I remember them. Cool that you're going back to play them.
You've never played this...Wow, way to play the lesser game first, haha. Still, if you're not jazzed for a Warcraft 4 that will never come by the end of this and Frozen Throne I will be majorly disappointed.
Here's the things you need to do by the next episode, Crendor: Update the game via Battle.net on main menu (which improves the resolution as well as spells and abilities of heroes + unlocks full Bonus campagin from Frozen throne); Enable the subtitles for in-game conversations.
WoW!You did this, and ive wanted this out of other tubers like JEsse! Its also quite ironic.cause i started playing Warcraft III myself a few days ago. Also, notice how the opneing cinematic's music was used for both WoW PvP,and that the music when the humans first charge is also used in MoP's landfall cinematics.
Ok this is a wonderful idea Crendor. I'm fucking hyped for this series, Warcraft being one of my favourite games considering the fact I am awful at RTS.
It's funny to me that you are doing this now, because about a week ago I was at a Goodwill and picked up the base game CD for Warcraft 3 for two bucks. It's great.
I thought that was Arathi Basin in the beginning cinematic. Sweet. I am reading the WoW novel now about how Thrall escapes Durnholde and rally's the Orcs to fight to gain freedom. Good book.
Yay thank you for doing this! I've wanted to learn the lore from these games but honestly I'm not very good at this type of game so it would be horribly frustrating for me to play!
I didnt even watch the video before liking it. Fucking loved this game, and it is straight up what got me in to WoW to begin with. This is gunna be a blast to relive, especially with Crendor at the helm.
whoaah you love WoW that much and haven't played the WC 3 campaign? You're in for a treat. It is my favorite campaign in any game of any genre ever, and it is the reason I loved WoW so much way back in the day.
oh man, I'm pretty excited for this series! Never seen WC3 played but know all about the lore - I'm glad you're taking the time to learn all this shizznit :D and it'd be great if you could make them a bit longer, I need my lore fill, nerd ^^
Always wanted to give this a try, but I never think about it. So excited you're doing a lets play! My first ever Warcraft game was WoW back in January 2007 a week after BC released.
Great series, hope to see (a lot) more content soon. Please discontinue immediately if you aren't serious about providing a complete playthrough in a timely manner.
I enjoyed this first episode. Hopefully it's not too long until the next episode, as I can't wait for more! One thing that bothered me though was the low game sound compared to your mic volume. Please fix it in future episodes. Other than that though, great job! :D
Excited to watch this series and I hope you finish the Warcraft campaign, unlike SOME beloved UA-camrs out there we're still waiting on *cough cough Husky cough cough*.
Hah! Nice series (I assume, as "ep 1" suggests it will be series)! I will enjoy those CrenClassics for sure. I played hell out of WC3 back in the day, so that just hits that warm spot in my memory ;)
Building my garrison on the beta has definitely made me want to play Warcraft III again. :P It's funny, it's like a great movie, I always want to play it again and again.
wow, crendor is playing Warcraft 3? What an awesome person, this must be a fun series to watch. definitely not Crendor on Jesse's account
CRENDOR! get off the computer; jesse needs to look at some
...._videos_
I loved this game.
lol
Let's learn stuff about Warcraft, nerds
GO TO SLEEP
NERD
Crendor this is a cool idea!
I never knew you haven't played Warcraft 3!
This will be awesome!
I'm just curious, why haven't you started with Warcraft Orcs and Humans and made your way from there? Because even these games tie in with WoW. Especially Warlords of Draenor.
Escape from durneholde is the dungeon called.
"And I've never played the campaign"
Probably my biggest WTF moment in a long time.
That's what gets me too. I've been finding out that a great deal of people that I know that love RTS games, youtubers, other gamers, they actually never played the campaigns of many of the old and classic RTS games. Most seemed to only be into the multiplayer aspect and that is what they did.

Yeah, I hate to be that kind of person...but it really bothers me when people get into a game and completely disregard the campaign/story, the meat of the game is how the story is woven, with the interacting characters and poignant situations. GAH! That's like skipping out on the Command and Conquer games and skipping over the cheesy, yet awesome live action cutscenes D:!!!
These cutscenes STILL give me chills
I love the music, don't get me wrong, but the implications that the cutscenes have across the entire game and everything bring back lots of good memories.

I'm actually amazed by the cinematic graphics in this game. It's incredibly considering the age of the game
after all these years, warcraft 3 cinematics are still some of my absolute favourite!
OMG, I so waited for this. Thank you Crendor!!
YES!!!!
God, that starting screen brings back memories.... I can almost envision myself at my ex's desk all those years ago, messing with his games. This is a good deed you're doing, crendor, good on you; I think this is the best way for people to learn the lore, truly a good use of your videos. Crendor 15-20 minute episodes please or this will take longer than your World of Warcraft Let's play :P
That sucks, because Warcraft is such a good game.
Snowmangaming92 Missions can take quite a bit of time, though.
I mean.
This IS Crendor we're talking about.
***** I know I did it recently, but with Crendor's upload inconsistency it will take a couple of weeks to be finished and Crendor have never played the game, so it will take longer than a day for him, if he marathons it.
***** there will be missions who last close to an hour, I guess we will be fine
***** For a newcomer to the game like Crendor, some missions can take 10 minutes, others will take an hour! Don't know how he will deal with that lol.
That cutscene is still freakin cool 14 years later
What about 21 years later?
I really enjoyed Husky's playthrough of this awhile ago so I'm glad you're doing this too. Its fun watching people play this game, they don't very often :(
Did Husky ever finish frozen throne? o0 dont think he did, i remember waiting for ages
Yeah, he is still has just completed the first undead mission of TFT.
MaMastoast He's just got the final campaign to go. Although considering it's been forever since he last uploaded a video on it, it's probably for the best that Crendor's started playing it now. He'll probably end up finishing it before Husky does.

A fun tip: click on units repeatedly, and eventually they will have some funny easter egg dialogue.
Me not that kind of orc.
This is easily one of the best single player campaings ever! I'm so hyped up about you playing it! Great times ahead
the wizardly dude is Medivh, possessed by Sargeras. you need to have Jesse fill you in on your lore. have him read you Warcraft bedtime stories.
no this is after Khadgar and Aegwynn killed Medivh, freeing him from Sargeras. Aegwynn resurrected the real Medivh after Sargeras no longer was within Medivh, and he came back to help guide the mortals to victory against the legion.
Xalarius Arcanite Khadgar, Llane and Lothar killed Medivh, Aegwynn was living in self exile in Kalimdor, but yes, she ressurrected him and he had no Sargeras in him after that.
you spoiling him
***** That is what you think what happend. I have read way too many tinfoil hat editions of WoW lore to believe this :D Maybe Sargeras was still in him.
thats not possesed medivh this is after those events
I've never read any books or novels, but Wc3 made me fall in love with Warcraft lore. It's never too late to play one of the greatest games in history. Hope you play the campaigns all the way till the end of TFT. ;)
WC3 defined my teenage gaming career. So many good memories. Still angry Blizz keep supporting the dying MMO instead of making another RTS
yaaa dying 7 mil subscribers.. ofc dying..
Not sure about the dying mmo part. But I had very similar experiences as you. From I was 12 till I was 16 or so warcraft was THE game for me, maybe even longer. I'd love a warcraft 4
mopis3991 could you pass the salt?
warcraft 4 confirmed in 2054, we can dream :)
MaMastoast I think that Warcraft IV will probably become a thing once Blizzard finishes the Legacy of the Void expansion for StarCraft. All the same, that's still at least a good four or five years away considering how long the Blizzard development cycle takes.

Playing the Warcraft RTS games should be mandatory for all WoW players, get your game on son!
I love these graphics for some reason
Bard Bros They were amazing.
YES! YES! When I left a comment suggesting you to do a Lets Play series of Warcraft 3, I never expected you to actually do it. thrall is disruptor :D
Isn't Rubick like one of the OP heroes found in the special "Fun Tavern" or am I just outdated? I think he shoots coins too.
Johnny Midnite oh is this where we met!
Rainy Jane Nah, I think it was a Nobbel video or a DD guide I'm not sure...
Johnny Midnite I don't really watch Nobbel's so much, so must be DD.
I love how a twelve-year-old game still has some of the best FMV cut-scenes in the entire world.
How about doing a warcraft 2 playthrough after this? IMO it has both better story/gameplay (and also because I watched Husky's playhalfthrough :D)
And patch the game to play it in 1080p you... not nerd!
Disagree with you on warcraft 2 being better ^^ I much prefer warcraft 3. But I'd love to see a warcraft 2 playthrough nonetheless. But i think I'd like to see Jesse do it, and explain the lore while doing so.
Jesse even voice acted in a custom campaigns for WC3.

Akul I have got to know which campaign that was. It sounds like the perfect excuse to boot up Warcraft 3 again after so long.
I remember beating this game when I was 13. Ah the memories. The funny thing is I still play custom games in TFT all the time!
Haha my knowledge of Warcraft ends with WCIII and the frozen throne expansion. I never played WoW and don't want to.
3:44 no that's Lord Of The Clans, a cancelled game. Theres a book about it though. That was before Thrall was warchief.
Make future episodes longer, thank.
Man, there comes up memories. Played it like 5 times through, loved the story, the characters, the gameplay, everything. It was a perfect game for me and still is. Still got it on the pc too.
300 episodes later..
he makes it to twilight of the gods XD
RageMage:3 well, i think he would be at the point where you as aliance must kill 100 ppl :D
Mr.Halogames Ugh, I don't wanna think about that mission; it took me longer than I'd like to admit.
I'm doing the same thing right now, just re-installed 3 and Frozen Throne, and they're still as fun as I remember them. Cool that you're going back to play them.
fun fact for the "MOBA" kiddies
DOTA originated in warcraft 3
Which originated from a custom map from Starcraft 1
TheJacobwx77
Called Aeon of Strife, which was based on Future Cop L.A.P.D.gamemode *the more you know*
Please continue this series as long as you can, I am certain a lot of your viewers/subscribers will appreciate it!
You've never played this...Wow, way to play the lesser game first, haha. Still, if you're not jazzed for a Warcraft 4 that will never come by the end of this and Frozen Throne I will be majorly disappointed.
Crendor Please go all the way through with this, ive been waiting for this for so long
the prophet was medivh
do you realaze that this is spoiler
Brkan Brkxik not didn't realize but crendor asked so I answered its not like a major spoiler like how Ar... never mind
Brkan Brkxik Spoiler for a 12 years old game...
Brkan Brkxik its not THAT big of a spoiler, and you should not read the comments if you are not okay with seeing spoilers.
TheMikesc15 its not spoiler for me its spoiler for him
I'm surprised you haven't played this before, Crendor. It's an amazing game with an amazing story, I think you'll love it.
Crendor, just a quick tip, if you're going to be uploading this in episodes of 10 minutes, you're not going to finish for a long time.
im sure he'll do it by missions (I hope lol)
HuskyStarcraft all over again :P
Please don't stop. My nostalgia is stronger than a neckbeards over Vanilla.
This is so good. I wish I had 10,000 likes to give you, sir.
Play Frozen throne after that.
if he can beat the last level... which I never even did (obelisks too hard)
OrbVideo yea i just cheated.i was like 10 at the time and it was too complicated for my retarded brain
Crendor is doing a playthrough of a game! Finally something to watch in my life!
Eugh I love this game so much holy shit
awesome to see you're doing this, looking forward to it all!
WHAAT?!I cant belive you never played wc3 before. How do you even understand the lore in WoW then?
Here's the things you need to do by the next episode, Crendor:
Update the game via Battle.net on main menu (which improves the resolution as well as spells and abilities of heroes + unlocks full Bonus campagin from Frozen throne);
Enable the subtitles for in-game conversations.
you didn't play campaign? omg you missed a lot dude :/
... especially the "outro" / end credits.
Muck006 Storm, Earth and Fire. Heed my call!
Oh the nostalgia! Will follow this series religiously!
=D Im so glad u decided to play this Crendor!
I'm fucking hyped for this series, Warcraft being one of my favourite games considering the fact I am awful at RTS.
it's only now that i notice that the raven in the intro is medivhe
It's funny to me that you are doing this now, because about a week ago I was at a Goodwill and picked up the base game CD for Warcraft 3 for two bucks. It's great.
Crendor's trying to learn some lore? I am so proud of you Crendor!
I thought that was Arathi Basin in the beginning cinematic. Sweet. I am reading the WoW novel now about how Thrall escapes Durnholde and rally's the Orcs to fight to gain freedom. Good book.
Yes! I've been wanting you to do this for years. My first warcraft game before Wow.
warcraft 3 was the game that got me started with the warcraft universe.i played it back when it was still current!
Warcraft 3 and Wowcrendor? My birthday has come early :')
Just started replaying this game, it is SO GOOD!
so exited of u doing this! pls do warcraft 2 after this one! u will like this one so much, dont stop cause the story its unique
Yes!!! I'm so excited!! Husky started this like three years ago and never got all the way through :D
OH MY GAWD NOSTALGIA HIT HARD!!! YOU NEED MORE SUBS!!!
Yay thank you for doing this! I've wanted to learn the lore from these games but honestly I'm not very good at this type of game so it would be horribly frustrating for me to play!
Warcraft 3 is my favourite game of all time, I played it when it came out (is it 12 years ago now). And I just love it.
W3 was one of my first games i got so hooked up i read the books and when WoW came out i was like drooling.
How can you never have played Warcraft 3 campaign Arghhghghg - But glad you decided to play it now at least :D
There's a beast Easter egg with far sight on the first mission, you put it in the top right to reveal phat loot
Great series, hope to see (a lot) more content soon.
Please discontinue immediately if you aren't serious about providing a complete playthrough in a timely manner.
wow . huge blast from the past. awesome stuff crendor !
AAH I AM SO HAPPY YOU'RE PLAYING THIS WC3 IS A FANTASTIC GAME
An awesome idea for series, Crendor. Will watch definitely! :)
Omg Crendor, watching you play this makes me so happy :D
I enjoyed this first episode. Hopefully it's not too long until the next episode, as I can't wait for more! One thing that bothered me though was the low game sound compared to your mic volume. Please fix it in future episodes. Other than that though, great job! :D
I love this, He doesnt spend half the video talking about what he wants to do in game.
WOO! Wc3 was the game of my childhood :)
I was WAITING for this! Nice Crendoug! ;)
Aww yeaaah. I hope you also play the bonus campaign as Rexxar in the expansion, that's one of the best.
So glad you're doing this. WC3 is an amazing game.
Excited to watch this series and I hope you finish the Warcraft campaign, unlike SOME beloved UA-camrs out there we're still waiting on *cough cough Husky cough cough*.
Omg... thank you for making this lets play... best thing ever.
Crendor you need this more than any other WoW UA-camr I know xD
The Escape from Durnholde was the dungeon you were talking about and trying to remember at the beginning of the video. It's from BC.
FINALLY! Time to educate some nerds on Warcraft 3 lore.
Thanks Crendor.
Buckling my seatbelt and watching this series once more.
Oh God, Crendor, tell me you didn't... :D I'm currently in the middle of the Elf campaign. This one never gets old, I keep playing it all over again.
still my favorite crendor playthrough
I've been meaning to play this again, and now I have the motivation
would like to see more of these ! keep it coming Crendor good job !
Hope you finish this, unlike Husky who has been playing this for about 2 years
FINALLY :D You gotta turn up your in game volume though dude, people gotta learn dat story
Hah!
Nice series (I assume, as "ep 1" suggests it will be series)!
I will enjoy those CrenClassics for sure. I played hell out of WC3 back in the day, so that just hits that warm spot in my memory ;)
WC3 was my first real game experience as a child (at least on PC); god this brings back memories
I completely forgot about this game, decided to re-install! Thanks, Crendor!
Building my garrison on the beta has definitely made me want to play Warcraft III again. :P It's funny, it's like a great movie, I always want to play it again and again.
