Arthas: Destroys 2 undead encampments and a poisoned grain caravan in half an hour Uther: "Not bad kid, but it's a good thing I came along to save the day"
Yeah this was surprisingly good it's almost like watching Markipliers explanation of the incredibly hard playthrough of FNAF where he talks about all the difficulties that one of the opponent has where you have to keep concentration on for the entire playthrough.
I feel like this was the point where Arthas was truly traumatised by what was happening. The cartoony graphics don't perhaps do it justice, but from Arthas' perspective this battle for survival was likely a horrific near-death experience which cemented his desire to strike back with everything in his power. Uther definitely could have shown a little more sympathy and support than "good thing I made it in time or you'd be dead". I don't think it was about Arthas' pride, but the feeling of helplessness against walking, rotting corpses of your kingdom's people slaughtering your loyal warriors in an unending tide. Arthas had a good point, if he DID have a legion of knights that situation would have gone with far less loss and bloodshed.
Wow. I remember when I first played WC3 when I was little, I cruised my way through the first few missions of the human campaign until getting stuck on this mission. Throughout the years, I’ve always wondered if it’s even possible to clear out the entire map, and now, I’ve seen it, and it brought a smile to my face. You sir, are a legend!
And then I slide down to the bottom left corner of the map and walk through the Enemy's base with Arthas. If you are nervous, imagine it's just a walk in the park.
I recall this mission is very challenging even to survive. I had to hide a peasant on the bottom right corner in order to build a farm at the very last minute...
Kinda but not really, the top part raid really pissed me off a bit,not close to the lich king revival mission against 3 bases,my god that mission was a nightmare,i still dream of those damn hypoglyphs birds
Arthas: "We never needed you Uther, as you can see, anything that can be a threat to Hearthglen is dead. I only called you here so we could play some cards like old times."
This mission was challenging enough when you are trying to defend your base. It's even more challenging in hard mode. It is amazing that you beat this mission by also destroying the enemy base. Your strategy is great! Perfectly executed!
Isn't that already a thing? I remember seeing this at a speedrun (maybe it was even at GDQ??)? Where you surround Archimonde and spam Goblin Landmines to take him down?
@@ToSMaster12345 Yeah, it has been done before. The goblin landmines is to destroy the undead base to stop them producing units. Then you only have Archimonde to deal with. Most people just mass ancient protectors. Would be interesting to see WTii's take on it.
this is very easy as the folks explained. It's probably slightly harder to hold Jaina's base on Hard difficulty without attacking the Undead base, because Jaina never goes to Upkeep and doesn't remake a few of her units once they die, like those Mortar Teams outside her base. She also leaves a few Scout Towers un-upgraded.
it took you 3-4 minutes to explain us ALL the work you have to do (plus the Intro), and it took you 5 minutes to excecute the half of what you explained, a fantastic job!!
Well no as that would've changed the entire narrative. Uthers character see's Arthas as a young protege, someone who isnt ready to lead. He clearly doesnt believe in Arthas as when we get to the culling he abandons him. It's not in Uthers bones.
@@davidhenson1316 I dont think this is entirely true a single line does not change an entire narrative at this point in the story besides it could have been snarky or backhanded compliment anything along those lines would have made my RoC hole feel a little bit more filled
As a person who loves to challenge myself in these types of games, I would say the min maxing of almost everything is on point and perfect. The rifleman luring the purple attack away from expo is just chef's kiss. Great job Wtii, would love tp see more of these in the future.
Wtii, sir you are a real MONSTER! Cleaning whole map live on Twitch without S/L abuse. My IQ is high enough only for surviving and defeating the orange. Great, continues practice and patience paid off!
"Hold the line while you amass resources, then make a gigantic army and crush the enemy in one giant blow." - Every single RTS campaign mission where you have a base.
I remember sweating so hard when there were 30 seconds left, Arthas was in the center of the village with his shield on cooldown with 10s left, my units were dying left and right while undead swarm him from all sides. I honestly felt his frustration and relief when Uther finally made it. (He's still a dick tho)
Amazing :D I've seen people do that as a speed run strat. Just without the creeps, except for the boots of speed. Hardly a speedrun without items to move faster :D Also, this timing is hilarious. Thanks to Wtii's guides and general melee gameplay videos I wanted to get better at the game myself. Recently I beat the human campaign on hard myself without cheating for the first time. That's how much I suck at WC3. But watching Wtii play inspires me to do better. So recently beat this mission for the first time on hard and here is Wtii doing a challange run. As if to remind me of how big that skill difference is. Don't get me wrong, this is nothing bad.
This reminded me of one of the commentary of Markipliers where he talks about all the difficulties that he has to go through with one of the enemies. I really hope to see more of these kind of explanations and challenges. Hell I'd also enjoy it if you decide to try it with different games etc. Edit also Arthas wouldn't have turned evil if Uther had actually helped Arthas vs Mal'ganis. Literally would have resulted in Arthas not needing Frostmourne.
Yes Arthas waa abandoned by Uther and Jaina when shit hit the fan. Uther, the arrogant teacher, never really acknowledged Arthas as his own leader. Always put him down one way or another. And then when Arthas did what needed to be done he abandoned him. If Arthas had friends to help him and a kingdom behind him, he would not have needed frostmourne
The battle plan at the beginning is awesome. I love seeing detailed strategies for beating challenges. I just wanted to add that I was just playing through the campaign, and I found out you can save the 4 footmen and 1 rifleman that die at the beginning if you have a scroll of healing in Arthas's inventory from the previous mission (They just start at super low HP and die quickly, so a quick scroll and some kiting of the perma-aggroed zombies saves them, although it's harder to pull off if you skip the cutscene for some reason). When you recruit the 3 footmen at the bottom, it gives you a huge army off the bat. This isn't relevant to this challenge because you wanted to save food for peasants in the first place, but I thought it was a neat trick for helping Arthas save as many of his people as possible.
Just watched the whole thing and have to say your montage is always high quality and seeing on streams how many times you had to give this challenge a try I can only say two things: congrats and I do hope I could be just as persistent as you are. GG
I have fond memories of playing that mission on my sisters old laptop and being pleasently surprised that it managed the whole 30 minutes without shutting down because the PSU overheated, good old times.
the battle plan intro made all this even more interesting! thanks for the effort, I think it was well worth it 🧐 About the mission, I always thought Sorceresses weren't a good investment, as they deal negligible damage and only actually protect your units by slowing enemy attack speed by 25% and are dead weight after their mana gets low, while Priests seem better because of continuous sustain and occasional Dispel. Gives you more freedom not to micro riflemen as often :D
I agree. When I play this part of the campaign, purple always stops his attack on my base as soon as I try to take the expansion. Purple keeps attacking my expansion before the final assault.

Yeah, we had the exact same approach, min/max every opportunity. Cept the only difference I used the "patrol" function to aggro the purple base's platoon it would send out. I started with one well placed one at the area I thought they would inceept, when he did I would start the patrol to the center of town. When the rifleman patrolling was about at the halfway mark I would start another foot solder to patrol the same route. Inevitably they would always intersect the group on it's way. A few times I screwed up, got the timing wrong, and it ended up forcing me to restart.
i did this with sorcerers invisiblity and a mass mortar team "infiltration" army. Sneak in while invisible to their goldmine. Kill ALL the acolytes first, they have a building speed boost bonus. Then quickly kill the town hall before it can make any workers. then proceed to demolish as much buildings before reinforcements can arrive. when they do, town hall portal the fuck outta there. Since they dont have builders, you can use attrition to slowly wittle down their base with the invisible mortar team army
