Hi from Las Vegas! I’m a subscriber and I really like this channel. I had a stroke about 4 years ago. It wiped my memory and I watch a LOT of UA-cam videos for crafting. Then I watch them again when I forget. This is my new favorite video. I’m relieved to see someone else decide to go a different way on a craft! Thanks for this.
Love your projects. They are so creative. Ripping paper and napkins can be tricky. I use a dampened Q-tip or brush with water and trace where I want to tear. Then tear. Makes it so much easier.
I agree. I loved seeing your fails because I fail all of the time and it's not to know that I am not the only one, that it happens to pros like you and that it is all part of the process. You see when it happens to me, I always think, "well, the professional artists get it right the first time or the second time." and I feel really bad that I am not as good, but seeing you fail and fail again, makes you human and it reminds me that it is all alright. We are all learning. so, thank you for this. I only wish that you filmed what you did differently to get it so well centered the second time around. Thank you.
I loved watching this a normal jar turned into something special I like the fact that you show your mistakes and how you correct them. Thank you for sharing look forward to your next video.
I was browsing eBay at 2AM while waiting for a pain pill to take effect. I came across some beautiful rice papers but of course there aren’t any samples of what to do with the stuff. I went to trusty old UA-cam and typed in ‘crafting with rice paper’ and your video came up first on the algorithm. The cute winter scene caught my eye so I decided to watch just for the heck of it. I have to say I was really impressed. I loved the way you explained every step, even the fact that you painted the jar a couple of years prior (sounds like something I would do). Along with some others who have mentioned it I appreciate seeing the mistakes just because I feel better knowing someone experienced might make mistakes too. The jar turned out so sweet. Unfortunately she isn’t a collector or I would make my sister some jars using adorable Alice in Wonderland paper I saw, also on eBay! Thanks for the great tutorial and I hope the coffee didn’t keep you up too late! God bless from the U. S.
I loved watching this project and all of the work that you have to do in between, the realness of it all, the completeness of it all. It is so authentic and... so inspiring. thank you very much. Actually, this is your fourth video I watched tonight and by far, my most favorite because you showed all that goes into it and/or explained the other things, like washing the brushes, and because you were 100% human and had things that didn't work out and I can super relate to that. Thank you.
Girl, I love you! I am so grateful to see someone crafting and dealing with some faux pas! I can't tell you how many times I have to re-do something, especially on jars! Jars are tricky business. I will tell you one of my major mistakes - that could NOT be salvaged: I painted the jar with chalk paint, but... I didn't gesso it first so guess what happened? That's right - paint peeled right off. So, I re-did the jar with gesso first. That problem solved. I then decided I wanted to make a clay border around my cute picture. Well, that went badly, too, but again, I was able to straighten the clay frame out enough to look half-way decent. But, when the clay was dry is when I really went awry. I painted the clay but the colors looked literally like puke and the more I tried to fix it, the worse it became until I finally had to scrap the whole jar! Scraped the picture, the clay, the paint and the jar! 😓 Ahhh... your video made me smile. The little jar you created is just adorable and with the lights in it - well, it's beautiful! Thanks for sharing the "real" deal with us other crafters.🌺
I also liked the fact that you showed how you worked through the mistakes, and it just will make us think ahead about what we want to do. appreciate your work and I Loved your Jar !! thank you so much for your time.
I love the style and delivery of this video - warts and all :). It's good to see how mistakes can be rectified and that even experienced crafters have their mishaps. Those words were spot on for that jar and you did a great job of centring them, the snowflake was clearly putting up a fight! I've got a whole bunch of large coffee jars in my cupboard, I tend to use as water pots when I watercolour - but I've now found a much better up-cycling alternative, thanks to you. Have a lovely day.
Hi from Michigan. I see you done this 4 yr's ago. I love the jar. So pretty. I have a idea for you, put rice or popcorn in a gallon baggie, and lay your jar or any other item on it and it holds it still. Love your work
I’m so happy to see you in the video instead of just a voice, I really enjoyed this real time tutorial and love the way it turned out - now I know how to try and make it on my own with out
New Sub = Your channel was recommended to me today by one of my subscribers after I tried to do only my second decoupage project! Wow, thank you, I’ve learned a lot more from this one video than I knew this afternoon whilst making my own! Thank you. I’ll keep watching! 🌸
Really liked the video..I tried DECOUPAGE with rice paper and filament paper..but blending the edges into the paint was a difficult task..but I got the answer to that through your video today... thanks a ton..
I love all of your videos, and this one especially! It was great seeing your whole process, the successes along with things that didn’t work out and how you fixed it. You’re so talented. Thank you.
This is my first time watching your videos and I loved it. Can’t wait to get started on my next project. I am kind of a newbie to this wonderful hobby. You are very good at explaining everything you are doing. I also love that you allowed us to see what didn’t work as well as what did. That’s the best way to learn.
Such a sweet project- easy & instructional. I am surprised at the restraint you showed. That showed a different side of you - interesting to see you "struggle" like the rest of us! And it turned out lovely. TYFS...👍👍👏👏😍
I absolutely love your videos. I watch without fast forwarding😊. You always make me want to start a project. Yes you guessed it, my family and friends will all be getting something crafty this year. I’ve only just began trying some things and your videos are brilliant for helping. Thank you
Hi, I just want say Thankyou, thankyou, I have just discovered your channel, and I love everything you do, and most of all the way you deliver , warts, mistakes, change of mind, it makes me feel I have you with me, and not to be afraid to try, you totally inspire me, I feel like I have a new Friend. Please keep going , lots of love x
TYFS - I absolutely love this video! I really liked seeing your “whole process” that included all the wins & fails. I’m actually wondering what it says about me 🤔 that I was happy to know that I’m not the only one that starts a project & then sets it aside because I just can’t figure out what I really want to do next 🤷🏻♀️. I was also happy to see that you are human too & everything doesn’t always work out for you either 🙄. In the end, you overcame all the issues & ended up with a BEAUTIFUL Holiday Lantern, I don’t blame you one bit for keeping it all to yourself! I hope that you do more videos like this one I laughed 🤭 & cringed 😬 & crossed my fingers 🤞🏻with you. Hope you also start the next one with a full & hot cup of coffee ☕️! Please stay safe 😷
Very enjoyable format, thank you for sharing your process! Love the splattering of paint that finished your twinkle jar off! And now I know just what to do with all those jars I’ve been saving ! I’ve ordered some rice paper! Now to remember where I stashed those twinkling lights! Just hope mine turn out half as nice, you always make magic with your creations!
As usual you are my favorite Monday lunch break!! And it is such a relief to see the greatest (you) mess up like me, my projects have went to the wayside cuz it was like oh noooo!! And I have some Christmas jars in my future I see....love love the simplicity of this jar, so beautiful..
I had fun watching you and the result was beautiful you are cool and relaxed even when you make mistakes and restart your almost done project; it end up cute and romantic . 🥳
I thought you did a wonderful job; it looks absolutely adorable! Your willingness to be openly honest with success and failure, recovery and surprising delightedness has definitely drawn me to subscribe *and* get notifications. Again, wonderful job!!
Loved this! Definitely gonna try it❤️. I actually have the exact same rice paper...so I'm ready to go 😀. Thank you for sharing your great ideas with us😀❤️
I loved this video tutorial and I love how you can make a mistake and turn it into something beautiful. I love those little fairy lights too. They look gorgeous inside the jar. I would love to make some of these for Christmas presents. Thanks Iveta, love from Amanda Jones in Australia
This is the first time I seen your channel. That jar is amazeballs friggin love it. From Nova Scotia Canada. I do some diys myself. I'm totally saving every jar I use cause I am so happy that the lights look so awesome. Gotta tell you I was sceeerrrrrd that your acrylic paint was going to pop up when you started decoupage cause I never heard you say that you treated it after you painted it . And you took the tape off the stencil I was holding my breath. But paint stayed on awesome. It must be the type of paint. I always clean my glassware in alcohol wipes before I paint it is a lot better for coverage as well.
Really very pretty, just the sort of item I love for Christmas, I have some vintage baubles exactly the same, so I will definitely be making one! Tyfs 🎃
This is so beautiful and watching you craft and the mistakes has definately made me feel better as I am always painting over things and taking off decoupage and starting over 😂 I wish we lived closer so we could craft together ❤ xxx
Awwww yeah want to make that, turned out great. Loved the video, must have taken you ages to edit and write in but worth it, lovely and natural as you are 👍I'm thinking your jar would look amazing hanging up if possible, two or three hanging up 😺 Thank you I enjoyed that 🌸
IVettA ..this is beautiful ..felt real good watching the video ...really inspirational for newbie crafters like me ...the jar actually speaks of serenity n calmness ..loved it :
Fantastic tutorial! I loooove the scene you put on the jar! Have you tried using Pixie Spray on the back of stencils? Makes it tacky, non-permanent surface so all areas of the stencil stay flat, should peel right off easily when you are done. Anyway, I am definitely going to make some of these as Christmas gifts, just beautiful with the lights!
New sub here,I love this! Can't wait to watch all your videos. Thank you for your hard work and showing the mistakes and how you go through it. A nice honest video. Thanks
The Christmas jar is so pretty I, I love it. I do wish there was something different than the jute twine to use. Everyone is using it way too much. Maybe some different cords in other colors would create a little different look. I did very much enjoy watching your video. Thank you for the tutorial. 👍🎨
I have to say. I can't believe that you would make such a comment. Her craft is an inspiration. I thought that was implied in regards to all crafts . Use ribbon if you want. Man I am never ticked off watching my mentors diy . I just came across this channel. Haven't laughed for a minute watching diys . If I didn't like something I would shut my mouth and stop the video. You might be sick of jute or twine well I'm sick of some ppl who have nothing better to do than pick apart a beautiful item that someone has made not to mention edit and post it . Show some respect. Sorry ladies. #GirlsClubHatersNotWelcome.
Girl, you just could make a dot with a pencil in the center of the jar and then align it with the center of the snowflake imfo...crazy cool video, love you, subscribed! 😜
I absolutely love how that turned out! The scene on that rice paper is so pretty and perfect, and the Merry Christmas on the other side sets it off so well. I really want to do this project myself, but I'm in the US and not sure if I can find that exact rice paper. Guess I'll check Etsy. Thanks for the inspiration, this is my favorite Christmas project I've seen this year (even though you filmed it in 2020, I'm just seeing it now in 2022).

Great to see real demo as you create video with mistakes...glad I am not the only one who makes them. Great humour thank you x
I’m so happy to see you in the video instead of just a voice, I really enjoyed this real time tutorial and love the way it turned out - now I know how to try and make it on my own with out

Sweet! For those that like bling, you could add some glitter.
Just a tip…take a little brush and wet it a bit, then wet around the rice paper image and it will tear much easier.
Oh that was wonderful 😍
Thank you! 😊
It came out great!
It came out perfect!
