Patti, I decided to try the iron on method with my napkin and to my surprise I had NO wrinkles. I was struggling with my napkin until I did the iron on method. Thanks for the video. I was doing this over a jewelry box and the top was flat. So it worked like a charm. Have a blessed day!

Fantastic tips and video, thank you! I’ve decoupaged once on a few smooth garden rocks and they still look great. I’m not sure why I haven’t done anything else but after watching your awesome tips I will definitely try other items. I was not aware that using the links helped support these videos and will make sure to use them, thanks for making me aware.

one thing I have found with the flat canvas, its good when they do separate like that, after I decorate/paint/decoupage, I cut the canvas off the cardboard backing, then seal it, then you can actually use it like fabric and make really cool totes and such, just a happy accident I came across while painting.

I asked you about this in 2017. Here's what works best for me. I use Mod Podge to apply, and when dry I literally dust the decal area with a light mist of clear acrylic spray and that completely seals it and stops all wrinkling and bubbles from applying a top wet coat. After that is dry, you then apply more Mod Podge or whatever you like on top. Easier and faster.

Thank you and I'm with you, I hate to use these beautiful napkins that I have for anything but decoupage. Ebay is actually a great source for napkins from all over the place. You only buy 2 of them at a time which costs a lot less and most of them have free shipping. :)

Thank you for your informative video. I just finished my very first project using decoupage on some dresser drawers and they came out gorgeous! What I didn't expect were the incredibly heavy fumes from the glue! OMGosh we had to open windows and it was horrible so I am definitely in search of a new glue that will not curl the ends of my hair and have me twirling lights at a rave concert! lol! Thanks again!

Great video. Any time your canvas or flat surface warps due to heat, spray or wipe the back with a very small amount of water. For instance, if you use a rag, just barely dampen it. Then turn the object over, and it will warp the other way until it’s straight.
