Put a M☆ Carbo trigger kit in it and you'll have a awesome pistol. Trust me I installed one in my Micro 9 TFX Pro . Trigger pull reduction was over 50%. I can shoot it almost as well as my 4" Kimber Aegis Elite Pro 9mm . Keeping in mind I have polished all contact areas on that trigger group as well , but the M Carbo kit is new trigger Springs and metal finger tab plate that makes a huge difference . Best improvement I could do since the factory 7 lb trigger is way to heavy in my opinion
I fell in love with the looks of this gun so I bought it and also ordered a couple of extra mags from Kimber and like your video says it does take a different mag than the other Micro 9s. I love my Rapide Ice micro 9 and now I want the matching full size to go with it's little brother. But I love the look and feel of this gun and I have had zero issues with it. It was a little pricey but I would buy it again if I had too. Very sweet pistol. Liked your video but I didn't even research for videos of this gun because I own other Kimbers and had full confidence that this pistol would live up to Kimbers standards. 👍🏻
Excellent review, I appreciate you putting this out! I got mine without knowing it was a special edition and bought an 8 round mag to boot, and was disappointed and confused when it didn’t fit. Happy to know why now!
Yeah, the 6lbs trigger is standard in a Micro 9. Honestly, I wouldn't want a new gun owner to have a light trigger...particularly on such a small gun. I am considering the same kit for mine...they advertise at least a 40% reduction...and many get as low as a 3lbs pull.
mine measured out at 10 pounds over 5 different tests. Friendly LGS called Kimber, they said it was way too high, and send it back. Gave an RMA and pre-paid UPS label. Got it back today, it's still 8 pounds, and it's too damned heavy.
I really appreciate your video. I haven’t found any other reviews on the Rapide. I just took mine to the range for the first time today and it cycled my range and defensive rounds without failure. Now that I’ve seen your review, I’m confident in my decision to start carrying daily.
I really love it. It is an actual pleasure to shoot, and comfortable to carry. By far my favorite pistol I own now. I have become a true Kimber fan, and am looking at other models to own.
If this is received well, I will do reviews for my other firearms, and maybe others I get ahold of. Most of my vids have been around full-auto content...but I would love to get into this part of it as well.
Picked mine up for $839.99. Trigger pull was terrible at 10 pounds. Sent it back to Kimber and they replaced the sear and trigger assembly, adjusted the extractor, refinished the barrel and chamber, polished the feed ramp, breech face and firing pin housing. Trigger pull is now 8 pounds. Kimber says that's within factory specs (approx 7 pounds?). I call B.S. and will be looking for a trigger job on it to bring it down to 4 - 5 pounds. don't get me wrong, I like Kimbers, but this just isn't what I've come to expect from them.
Just seen the new micro raptor pro with crimson laser for 1100 nice looker but a bit steep but I payed 600 for my micro 9 s/s about 6 months back. There`s a vid on YT where a guy shows with just a little work you can put Sig mags in a micro 9.
You were not hitting the target! I see a lot of dirt being pushed around on the berm though. Targets were unscathed. You do, however, get full credit for dispatching one berm!! 9:52
@@LibertySteele Good for you LS. I don't like it when it is obvious that misses are edited out. Rob Leatham would have trouble hitting small targets at 25+ yards with a 3-inch barrel too, so don't feel like the Lone Ranger! I enjoyed your video, so keep 'em coming.
Just picked one up and noticed the edges in the slide are razor sharp! I split my hand open racking the slide. Not cool lol. The weapon is beautiful however Can’t wait to shoot it, will more than likely wear gloves lol
Thank you for the video, Much appreciated! I checked one out at a gun shop today, definitely a sexy looking gun! Was trying to figure out support thumb placement without the slide cutting it? How do you place your support thumb while shooting? Thanks again
@@danmckeon6221 my support thumb rides on the slide. No cuts or issues. It does on almost every pistol I shoot. Next time I go, I will try to get some video from that side. There may be some shorts on my TikTok or Instagram that shows it.
@@seanflanagan578 thanks cant make my mind up between the kimber and a sig p365 but i heard the kimber fails alot ....for a carry pistol it better work if it needs to
@@MamasFunkyMonkey my bad dude, I thought you were asking about my canik, I get a bunch of questions from another comment. Definitely go with the 365, my kimber is on gunbroker now, when I shot it my thumb knuckle tripped the safety, I did not like it

Dude...look at the age of the video. Comparing the price of a hard to find new release and when it is readily available does not make sense. It was worth it....early to getting one, and first UA-cam video review of it.
Please turn on closed captioning for correction: The weight is 15.6 ounces, not pounds...

I picked up the hero edition with truglo day sights
I just bought this exact model
Not really a pocket pistol being 6.4 inches long, but a good side holster gun

The pull on this gun is 7 lb that’s factory standard. It’s a hard pull but you get used to it.

Disappointing it is only 8 rounds, but it is a great looking gun.
Not sure what you expect out of a micro single-stack.these are intended for easy low bulk concealment...with the dependability of a 1911.
What are you shooting in yours, LS? Kimber seems to recommend the 147gr JHP Federals.
115 grain FMJ for target, Hornady 115 grain FTX Critical Defence for defense.

who can believe that I bought this for 730 dollars (included tax 10%)
$814 Basspro, 3 days ago
That is actually a bit high these days....but would have been great a year ago when I bought this when it first came out.
A tad perhaps, but when you factor in shipping, transfer fees, it comes in only about $15-25 more
Seen one for 8 and a half.
Should have grabbed it! Selling for over 1k Gun Broker!
That's what I got mine for too

How much for CT laser grip
This was 2 years ago....I have no idea what I spent. I'm not even sure if I got it off Amazon, Ebay, or their website. Sorry.

$800 everywhere online.

$150 Down and $150 a month for 6 Months. Might be correct. :)

LG-409g
Does it have the decocker? It looks like it does.
i dont think this has a double action feature, i didnt notice a decocker on mine amd i tried manually decocking and firing and it didnt work
It's a thumb safety and single action trigger
Do you know if the mag release is reversible on these?
I do not believe so. I wish it was.
"Expecially?"
Single action or striker trigger?
It is a single action. Is essentially just a mini 1911 in 9mm
The trigger is pretty terrible for such a high price “custom” firearm
