    The Kimber Micro 9 Nightfall is what my wife carries, it was the first gun that she shopped for and picked out herself.
    Her small hands made it difficult for her to reach the controls on bigger guns without shifting her grip. For reference she's 5ft nothing with size 4 shoes and hands to match lol so she really loves this little gun.
    She can shoot the 44 mag but anything big is slower for her to manipulate

      This looks like an awesome gun for my wife as well. She has the same issue..shes tiny, and has tiny hands. She's an experienced shooter, so she can shoot bigger, heavier caliber guns like my 1911, and .44 Colt Python..but they are simply too big for her to handle comfortably. Right now she carries a Glock 26, which is a tiny little piece thats perfect for her tiny little hands, but she complains that the slide is too difficult to rack.

      Really this comment just makes it clear that you have no clue what you're talking about and are probably a paid plant, anyone who knows anything about firearms will tell you that small people do much better with larger firearms, because the extra weight helps them compensate for the recoil. But hey, thanks for confirming that this channel is mostly astroturfed, I appreciate you clearing that up

    I have one and love it. Only issue i had was a jamming issue when i first bought it. Talked to kimber and found out some had ejector rods that were not bent far enough in to effectively grab the spent casing. Fixed it myself in about 20 minutes and have not had an issue since.

    When I was shopping for my EDC I went into the local store and told the guy I was looking for something styled after the 1911 but small, concealable and in 9mm. He pulled the Kimber Micro 9 Nightfall with Hogue grips. It felt really good in my hand and it definitely is based on the 1911. It came with 2 magazines, a soft pouch and an IWB holster. The problem for me is that I'm already cramming too much in this waistband but I was able to repurpose it as a pocket holster and it's fabulous for that. It feels comfortable and is still very easily concealable. When i go to the range I make it a point to put a box of rounds through it to stay in practice. I would recommend this gun.

I've put over 500 rounds in mine no problems at all. I got used to it right away. You must use 147 grain ammo with this gun that's the only draw back. I've hit bulls eye at 40ft all day long. Spend the money you won't be sorry. It's a great edc gun. If you want get the 8+1 mag. I just can't believe how accurate this gun is. Lots of people knock it because they can't afford it so dumb. The Kiber Micro 9 is a beautiful pieces of machinery. But's it is not trustworthy as an everyday carry handgun IMHO. I also have the Kimber Stainless II .45acp. That gun is a different story. It is extremely accurate and reliable in both 8 round and the extra 10 round capacity when using ball .45acp. at the range. I've never had a hangup on the .45ac when using FMJ ammo. But when I use hollow points, there is an occasional misfeed from the custom magazine that come with the gun.
      But when I use the Kimber Micro 9 with hollow point bullets at he practice range, there are certainly multiple jams. When I switch back to FMJ 9MM ammo for the Micro 9, there seems to be "less" jamms, but there still are some. Thus I have concluded that my Kimber Micro 9 (1911) will NOT be my carry gun, no matter how small and how convenient it may seem. When it's very hot outside like it is today in the Southwest, I will carry my 9mm Canick Elite micro 9 that holds 15 rounds with a red-dot display. I will only use it if I hear fireworks going off in my Cathlic Church. Only then will I assume that there is a culpret and assessed the situation very carefully behind one of the limestone walls and carefully watch who might be the culpret. I might even watch to see i a few members are attacked before I begin to fire. Why, because I don't wish to be the person who is accused to be the original culpret, before I fire. I have no idea if my church has a police policy in plan, but I know that when the police are only a few minutes away, the terrerist is already shooting. I carry softly, but carry a big stick. Unfortunately, if a culprit invades my church, I'm going to take a few seconds to see who he is shooting at before I decide I have a right to take evasive action. That delay will undoubly cost a few lives. But I'm not going to be the guy who starts shooting as soon as I hear "firecrackers" only to have shot innocent people. My church has an obligation to set up a protective program. I'm going to ask my priest if he has a gameplan. I don't think he does. I don't wish to be excommunicated from my church, so I wonder if I should even approach my priest. I'm afraid they are not protective enough to think that an invasion of our church is even a possibility. As a pilot, I carry a checklist in case of an engine failure. I believe my priest believes his church will never have and engine failure. Poor people in my church, they are sitting ducks. But you terriorist bastards out there, there are plenty of us with .45acps who are ready to unload on you as soon as you make a sound in my church. Are you ready to become a matter? I am, but you guys can go to Hell as far as I'm concerned.

    I'm so used to carrying full sized or large compact guns concealed that all these micro guns just don't float my boat . I carry my canik tp9 sub compact as my compact sized gun and my 4.5" xdm 9mm or 45ACP when I just regularly carry everyday . I found that a comfortable holster will let you carry anything big or small . I feel just as comfortable carrying a 45ACP double stack as my hellcat but I can shoot my 45acp way better , so I like carrying the better shooting gun . Sure I can hit with a tiny micro 9 but why bother if I'm comfortable with the larger gun . Lol sometimes I carry the larger guns and even forget I'm carrying. I have a Micro 9 in stainless, the cheapest, plainest of the bunch. I had some feed issues when I first got it, and the trigger seemed a little heavy. I installed the mcarbo trigger spring kit. The trigger now breaks at 3.5 lbs, which is what I expect on a SA pistol with a safety. Also I found that a little synthetic grease between the trigger transfer bar and the inside of the left grip smoothed things out a bit. Then I replaced the recoil spring with the Galloway heavy spring. The long Galloway spring is a bear to get in, but easier with practice after a little break in.
    Now the gun is perfect. It's accurate, shoots every time, and conceals easy. I like, too, that the slide can be cycled with the safety on. The trigger reset is really good, and the little pistol can be fired really fast. It's fun to shoot!
    Some people say you shouldn't have to modify a pistol, but I've changed something on every pistol I own.

      Interesting, I don't know what the age difference is but I have noticed some peoples natural aim is less than others. My mother when I got her to go for her permit found that even with her aging eyes she could still get rounds on target relatively well. As for myself, I was able to shoot the match head off with a BB gun in scouts, and as I got older I have found that I can pick up almost any firearm and shoot it well (FN Five Seven gave me a run for my money sadly...) even the small ones.

    I had mag drop issues with my micro 9 that took it out of the edc conversation for me. I wouldn't recommend it for that purpose. "Wedding gun" is the best way to put it. If you want to carry a statement mini 1911 and you're willing to send it to Kimber or do it yourself for maintenance, then by all means its a decent choice.

    • @keyfitter
      @keyfitter 2 роки тому +1

      The Kimber is thin and great for concealment. I can also hit my target well with it as Colin says. I did send mine to Kimber for repair due to dropping the mag. For now, I still carry a Ruger 1st generation LCP .380. Conceal ability is a big thing for me. If my little .380 doesn't end the problem, my knife will at very short range. My EDC fits in my watch pocket, a pocket holster or a Fobus belt holster.

      Had the same issue with the wife's micro she decided to buy. The mag spring Kimber puts on these is a downgrade from a full size 1911. A very inexpensive full size replacement spring cut down a bit to fit the mag release on this frame fixes the issue. I did it myself, so cost me about 2 bucks after I bought a few and paid shipping. You do also of course need some wire cutters and a small enough bit to release the mag catch. YMMV.

    • @gcwessell
      @gcwessell 2 роки тому +3

      Agreed. My nightfall dropped the mag after every shot. I called Kimber, they sent me an express label for shipping, replaced the problem spring and did some feed ramp buffing, and I had it back in a week. Not a single issue after 350 rounds maybe... It should come off the shelf with no issues but they did a good job fixing their mistake.

Had all kinds of issues at first and cost me a good penny for different mags, but after about 300 rounds, it shoots like a dream and punches the red out of a silhouette at 10-15 yards like clockwork.
