That leg kick by Nancy was a signature move from back in the seventies. There's a live video of them doing "Crazy on You" back in 1977, the year I saw them, after she plays the slow intro, the leg kicks up and they tear into the song.
I used to love listening/watching these beautiful sisters; however, if I tried any of Nancy's fancy moves now, the only thing I would be tearing would be a hole in my jeans! Ah, memories!!
Nancy was my favorite guitarist back in the 70's. The way they were treated..I mean they made them doll it up and wear all the tight clothing showing off the cleavage which went against the way they wanted to be treated. They were rock n roll not a female version of the dolls.. check out "the dolls" can't remember their songs but men dressed like women with the big hair and makeup and high heals. Laughable at best
Crazy on You still holds up as a rock song and Heart were so ahead of their time when it came to rock bands led by women. If you love that song, you should check out Nancy Wilson and Liv Warfield doing it live. ua-cam.com/video/Mob90WQHjF4/v-deo.html
This is a great rock band that started in the 70's. Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. They have had so many great hits such as "Magic Man", "Crazy on You", "Barracuda", "What About Love", "Dreamboat Annie", "These Dreams", "Dog & Butterfly", "Alone" etc. In 2012 Ann & Nancy performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in a tribute to Led Zeppelin doing their classic song "Stairway To Heaven".
HEART established their rock cred throughout the 70s; arguably the 80s rebirth was their commercial peak. Don't hate on good hooks OR good looks people.
I loved Heart. And there are so many good songs, Dreamboat Annie, Barracuda, and Magic Man were so good! These Dreams, As far as good cover songs, Chris Stapleton singing Metallica's Nothing Else Matters comes to mind.
Growing up in the 70s Heart was AMAZING!! All my notebooks dawned all the Influencial Rock Bands of the Day!! Heart, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Zep, Deep Purple, The Nug and many others!! Great Times!! 💜❤️👍😁💯🎸🤘 GREATEST COVER EVER - The Sound of Silence by Disturbed!! Hands Down!!
Oh, I love Heart so much! This song brings me back to my high school days. I haven't heard this song in SO, SO long! Thanks for that walk down memory lane, Jamel!
I ❤ Heart. I grew up with them in the 70's, and love these ladies til this day. Ann and Nancy have both been super influential on me music wise. The 80's was when they went full hair glam rock, but a lot of 70's bands had to evolve to survive and get thru the 80's. Not their best musical period, IMHO, but they had some tight hit songs, like this one. "What About Love" and "These Dreams" from this era are definitely worth checking out. Peace✌🏼 out, Jamel!
We saw Heart on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Kansas State Fair. IT WAS BY FAR ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE BEST CONCERTS WE'VE EVER BEEN TO!!! At 55 years old, and I have been to A LOT of rock concerts and country concerts. Ann Wilson's voice is just so incredible! If you get the opportunity to go see them in concert Jamel - DO IT!!! You won't regret it my friend!~APRIL LIPKE
That kick that the woman does just impressed the hell out of me. I love it. Absolutely love this song. It takes me back to the 80's in my hey day. But I still love all these years later. Love the band of such beautiful talented ladies. Awesome voices.
Nancy is a kick ass guitar player and the kick was her signature move She is nearing 70 and I saw her in concert two years ago and she still kicks like that
When I think of 80's big hair this era of heart is what pops into my head. Lol A lot of people who grew up with Heart in the 70's were critical of this era, but they were arguably at their peak right here in the 80's. I love all their stuff. One of the best live bands as well.
My biological parents first date was a Heart concert in 1978, and I was raised listening to Heart, Fleetwood Mac Stevie Nicks,Pat Benatar, all the 70s and 80s rocker chicks.... I still love all them... Love the music I was raised on,I love that ur keeping Great music ( and memories for me,bc my mom's in Heaven), alive!!! 💯💛🙏✌️🤟🤘🤙🎸🎸🎸🎤🎧
I met Ann and Nancy years ago. They were so nice. Ann has a voice which is so easily distinct. My favorite Heart albums are Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen. If you really wanna hear Ann wail, listen to "Sing Child".
I remember my Dad putting his nose up in the air when he 1st saw a girl band but after watching them for about 15 minutes he was so impressed by Heart that he watched the show again on the TV when it was repeated. Greatest Covers: Feliciano... Light My Fire (The Doors), Heart... Stairway To Heaven (Led Zeppelin), & Disturbed... Sound Of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel).
This is the Heart song I've specifically sought out on UA-cam from my childhood and gone back to listen to and watch the video for several times since.
Ann and Nancy Wilson...Rock Goddesses!! Their voices are so similar just Ann's has more fullness in it's tone. Try "These Dreams" where Nancy takes the lead but when they switch you can't tell. Thanks for the reaction.
I said it before...I will say it again.... "ANN WILSON IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FEMALE VOCALIST, ...PERIOD! Stay Safe Keep Well, EVERYONE........................!
Ann is the brunette, the singer. Nancy is the blonde guitarist. Had the fortune to see them multiple times, working concerts as a stage hand and spotlight operator.
Ann is the brunette, Nancy is the blonde. There have been a lot of great covers. One of my favorite is the Nightwish version of High Hopes from Pink Floyd. It's more of a tribute than a cover. Even David Gilmore loved it.
I've always felt sad and upset for Ann Wilson, the brunette, in the videos they did when Heart made their comeback in the '80s. She had always struggled with her weight and she gained a lot during their hiatus. The record company executives and members of the band began pressuring her to lose weight. When they did the music videos they used camera angles and clothes to minimize her size, and more focus was put on Ann's more slender sister, Nancy. You can see it in this video. Ann is shown from her waist up, she's dressed in all black and her hair covers up alot meanwhile they show Nancy's whole body. When they do show Ann's whole body it's from far away so you can't really tell.
While I do agree with you about how these videos were filmed, I also feel really good about the fact that the spotlight was finally being put on the more talented sister; Nancy. Yes Nancy who had taken a back seat to her lead singer sister for so many years. I mean no disrespect for Annie, but come on, fair is fair. You go Nancy! Grab the attention while you can. ❤️❤️✌🏼😎
Nancy, the blonde, has been my crush since 1980. Ann is the best vocalist in rock music, no question. The other guitar player in the teal jacket is somewhat of an internet friend of mine, Howard Leese, who is the guitarist for Bad Company, and has been for something like 20 years.
You can't go wrong with just about any Heart song, even the less known ones that only true Heart fans would know. These ladies can definitely rock and then slow it down too. Love the 80's hair bands look and they have never had to "dress down" to be sexy, they are just naturally sexy in looks and performing.
They were not the same band. The rock band she and then her sister joined and then were responsible for tearing apart contained the incredibly talented Roger Fisher on lead guitar and Michael Derosiers on drums. They rocked.
Love Heart and the 80s is so fun to watch now with the hair and the costumes, LOL...another era for sure compared to the 70s. It was fun to see them change through the decades and always sounded fantastic! And yes, way past time to stand in our sovereignty on earth right now in our own power within.
My mom’s real name is Nancy Wilson! In the 1970’s she owned a record distribution company in Dallas, Texas. It was always fun to see her introduce herself once Heart became so popular. Another great reaction from Jamel!
I've heard all of the great songs before but never realized how many great songs they actually have. I got a new respect for them watching these reaction videos.
Ann and Nancy Wilson are the Goddesses of Rock. Although today Ann says that the 80s were a time of fakeness (describing the excesses of everything in the 80s) she acknowledges that Heart experienced their greatest success during this decade. Regardless, Ann's voice is timeless. Yes, the 80s were big hair and a time of extreme everything.
The whole "Heart" album of 1985 is a gem! Nothin' At All, What About Love and the smashers If Looks Could Kill and All Eyes are nothing but awesome! Other Heart greats are: All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You, Stranded, Wild Child, Black On Black, Will You Be There In The Morning and the absolutely marevelous ALONE!!!
Their Stairway to Heaven tribute at Kennedy Center was DEFINITELY my all-time favorite cover song. They've also got a great version of Zep's Rock and Roll on their live album. That was a staple of their live show back in the day and it never failed to tear the roof off the place. SO good! My other favorite covers would be Van Halen's You Really Got Me, Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower, and Tina Turner's Proud Mary.✌😎
They only showed close up face shots of Ann in the 80's videos. If they did full body shots, they had her covered in loose baggy coats to hide her body. She struggled with her weight and they didn't see her as "ideal" so they focused on Nancy a bit more. It never mattered how heavy Ann got, to this day, that woman is still one of the most stunningly beautiful women and a powerhouse of a vocalist.

This whole album was one of my absolute favorites and most seminal albums growing up. Even the non-single tracks are straight 🔥 in my opinion. I’d highly recommend checking out the other tracks on the 1985 Heart album (which is just called Heart, it was their self titled comeback album.)
My favorite covers--"She's Not There" by Santana; "Hallelujah" by Pentatonix; and almost anything Joe Cocker covered (the man covered everybody). Linda Rondstadt made a career of covers. Billy Idol's "Mony Mony" is up there, too.

Some of my favorite covers are A Whiter Shade of Pale by Annie Lennox and Sympathy for the Devil by Ozzy Osbourne. I think Heart does a lot of Led Zeppelin covers in their live shows. The only one I have on an album is Rock and Roll, but there are videos of others, like Kashmir. They also did an outstanding cover of Without you (big hit for Harry Nilsson, original version by Badfinger).
P!nk does an honest to God, excellent cover of Bohemian Rhapsody live in concert on video. I saw Queen live four times. Her rendition impresse the hell outta me. 🖖🍻
Ann's voice in "Nothin' At All" is so powerful it almost drowns out any of the Guitar work while she sings. Good thing there is some Solo work by Nancy. I'm surprised nobody has listed it as You gotta put this on your hear this list.
This album hit just as I was getting into my teens and it was a solid album almost front to back, Jamal. Ann and Nancy were absolutely perfect to a teenage boy and jeez could they play. As for best cover? Phish play "Good Times, Bad Times" by Zeppelin so well, they'd make Jimmy Page want to throw his guitar in a wood chipper. Check it out. Unreal. Zeppelin is almoat unccoverable yet Phish totally slay this song
🔥🔥🔥🔥FIRE! I believe the best cover I ever heard was by Vanilla Fudge covering the Supremes You keep me Hanging On in 1968. It's physadelic which I love actually love the entire song Mark Stein and whole band
Unfortunately this was a real bummer time for Heart because Ann and Nancy were ALL about the music and their music industry people kept pushing them into bigger hair and lower cleavage, etc. They HATED it!! Folks were constantly fat-shaming Ann and it was really awful. The music was GREAT and I love the band, but I agree that this was not an easy time to be a woman in the industry.
Some of my favorite covers are..... Tesla - Stealin Sixpence None The Richer - Don't Dream It's Over Annie Lennox - Whiter Shade Of Pale Chris LeDoux - Life Is A Highway There are amazing covers by all sorts of artists, even across genres.
Heart is fun and their cover of Stairway to Heaven was amazing!!! One of my favorite covers is Def Leppard's cover of David Essex's Rock On. The original is pretty cool too!
The best cover I've heard is a tie. First is the Seals and Croft song "Summer Breeze" and the second is "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young, both covered by the gothic metal band Type O Negative. 🤘😎🤘

My favorite cover is Twist and Shout by the Beatles (originally recorded by the Top Notes)
I love your sweatshirt! Heart is one of my favorite bands! Was blessed to see them love so many times ❤️
And Their still Rockin the Seventies in their 70's
these two sisters are still rocking in their 70's
This was when Heart's comeback was jokingly referred to as the "Leave it to Cleavage" tour
I forgot about this song. It's been awhile.
My favorite song by them!🎶❤🥰
Tbh, I've only heard "Alone" & the amazing tribute to Led Zeppelins "Stairway To Heaven". But I really enjoyed this song too. Great band. 👍
One of the funnest songs to belt out in the car!
My absolute favorite back when it came out. Sixth grade I actually drew a picture off Nancy, brought an A ! Take care
Stay safe
You should take a listen to “What About Love,” and “Theres the Girl” by them if you haven’t already.
2nd row at Maple Leaf Gardens for this one. Toronto.
I Haven’t Heard This in Ages!🇨🇦🇱🇾
Two sisters doing their thing at it's best.
LOVE this song! Great reaction.
🔥🔥🔥🔥FIRE! I believe the best cover I ever heard was by Vanilla Fudge covering the Supremes You keep me Hanging On in 1968. It's physadelic which I love actually love the entire song Mark Stein and whole band
Another fine one from Heart is "Who will you run to?":
Unfortunately this was a real bummer time for Heart because Ann and Nancy were ALL about the music and their music industry people kept pushing them into bigger hair and lower cleavage, etc. They HATED it!! Folks were constantly fat-shaming Ann and it was really awful. The music was GREAT and I love the band, but I agree that this was not an easy time to be a woman in the industry.
Ann Wilson is one of my favourite singers ❤
If it hasn’t been stated yet: “what about love” and “all I wanna do is make love to you” are 2 off the top of my head
The curly hair one on Saved By the Bell was Jessie.
Those ladies are legends. So talented.
As always, brother, I hope you and yours are doing fine.
Wow!! Summer before my senior year in HS ('87)!! I always thought this was the best of later Heart. Doesn't get better than this!
Try their other hit "Alone" Heart was a great band! I always had a crush on Nancy Wilson.
Look up the other songs written by Holly Knight! It will blow your mind! She is in the Songwriter’s HOF.
Some of my favorite covers are.....
Tesla - Stealin
Sixpence None The Richer - Don't Dream It's Over
Annie Lennox - Whiter Shade Of Pale
Chris LeDoux - Life Is A Highway
There are amazing covers by all sorts of artists, even across genres.
I might not say this enough
I love you Friend and thank you for your great reactions
They did a version of stairway to heaven for the Kennedy awards led zeppelin tribute...amazing
Holly Knight - who was a vocalist and song writer with the band Toronto; if I'm not mistaken, she's an American who moved to the Great White North
Heart is fun and their cover of Stairway to Heaven was amazing!!! One of my favorite covers is Def Leppard's cover of David Essex's Rock On. The original is pretty cool too!
Heart
Alone
The best cover I've heard is a tie. First is the Seals and Croft song "Summer Breeze" and the second is "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young, both covered by the gothic metal band Type O Negative. 🤘😎🤘
You gotta react to Dog & Butterfly audio version. (I don’t think they made a video). It has to be Heart’s most beautiful song…..and my favorite ❤️❤️❤️
I saw them the first time during that tour, during the time most concerts were general admission. Was at the stage in front of Nancy, great times
You would like "You Ain't So Tough" by them. "If Looks Could Kill" is also great.
MAD LOVE for HEART!!
Hazy Shade of Winter The Bangles
If you watch Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Nancy is in it. She drives the car next to Judge Reinhold while he wears the pirate outfit.
Nancy was married to Cameron Crowe, if not when the movie was shot, soon after IIRC.
@@leehanson1416 I think right after.
