One of the things I like about the non-US/UK shows is how willing the judges are to step outside predefined boxes- the Viking song was stunning but would have gone over like a lead balloon - same with the Mongolian Throat singer- it's like the rest of the world realises that talent and music isn't all round peg in round hole...

I've come back again and again to 17:32, Bukhu Ganburged. I don't speak Tibetan, but for some reason, it always tears me up a bit. There's something so primal and moving about his song, which he later said was about missing his parents.
You can feel a deep, profound sense of sadness/ longing for something lost and irretrievable...maybe even (I think it's Irish or Australian) the feeling of loss/ nostalgia for a place/ feeling that never was.

How tf Bukhu can do those sounds? That's pure talent and actually unique, I wish these incredible voices were given more recognition. Okali can make you feel shivers down your spine. Artistry is what we're lacking nowadays on mainstream and the ones who really care for music are left behind.
Mongolian throat singers are AMAZING. If you've not already heard of them, check out The Hu. They're a band of heavy metal throat singers from Mongolia and are absolutely incredible!
You know what gets me the most about all these auditions, is seeing the reactions of the friends and families. Their tears of joy, especially the father's, are the ones that pull the rug right out from under me and all the onions are to blame for it.
Going by the 'goosebumps test', my vote is for Marie Flamme. Honorary mention: Claudillea Holloway. Both performers show guts to pick songs that are unusual for this type of contest, but allow them to show off their vocal prowess to the fullest.

Another thing give a chance to DJs, too… They understand the notes more than an actual artist. The first contestant in the initiative video was superb. And for the cover of (Taylor Swift); she put a song that was more like a relatable situation than the actual artist. And the woman covering (Spain): she was having more fun with the song than any contestants. She nailed it!
Ton of talent and I’m seeing many comments taking issue with why some of these acts were ignored. You have to remember these judges are looking for talent that will gain a huge fan base and be highly marketable. Some of these singers are filling a narrow niche and won’t make a lot of money. They need to fill stadiums, sell records, and gain radio play. Unfortunately much of the talent compiled in this video does not fall into that category.

The biggest issue seems to be Genres and I can’t blame the coaches. How is a Pop star, R&B, Country, whatever suppose to coach someone singing Metal, Rock, whatever?
Little Earthquakes was often described as like reading a diary, so her tendency to make eye contact with the audience makes sense in spite of the “withdrawn” an almost internal quality of the lyrics and sound. It IS internal, but the listener is “reading” the diary so the eye contact adds to that feeling that she is sharing her personal thoughts with you in an intimate way, in spite of being in a crowded theater. I’ve loved her for decades and her Dew Drop Inn Tour was my first concert. Thank you Bethany! [I’ve subscribed. ;-)]

The biggest issue seems to be Genres and I can’t blame the coaches. How is a Pop star, R&B, Country, whatever suppose to coach someone singing Metal, Rock, whatever?
Little Earthquakes was often described as like reading a diary, so her tendency to make eye contact with the audience makes sense in spite of the “withdrawn” an almost internal quality of the lyrics and sound. It IS internal, but the listener is “reading” the diary so the eye contact adds to that feeling that she is sharing her personal thoughts with you in an intimate way, in spite of being in a crowded theater. I’ve loved her for decades and her Dew Drop Inn Tour was my first concert. Thank you Bethany! [I’ve subscribed. ;-)]

I tried to learn throat singing and messed up my cords but it still is some talent I wish I could do.
