@@PhyrexianSwarmlord True. Sad they were the laugh stock for so long. Till the extreme bands saw they were grabbing main stream attention. Which use to be hated yet now they understand that is how you make money. I DO however Really Miss Vortex. He was such a presence. Then add his clean vocals. This was the best line up of the band. Even more so when HellHammer would join for tours on the drums.

Vortex definitly made the band a lot more whole, as did Hellhammer.. might've been laughing stock, but at least they were making good money, which is hard as a metal band if you aren't 'mainstream'

Puritanical and Death Cult was the best line up. Dimmu were in their prime then. I miss it. Nick Barker is the best orchestral black metal drummer of all time. This guy just doesn't have the feel that Nick produced.

In fairness to Tony Laureano, not being quite as good as Nick Barker is still pretty much a compliment. And while i agree, i still think he does great. All of Dimmu's drummers have been good. Just not quite Barker good.

Crowd was terrified then confused once Vortex unleashed his fury of God's intent upon them. Shagrath was green with envy he couldn't do both and that lead to Vortex leaving. Not proven but logical.

Glance into the blackness hidden beneath your surface
And enjoy the suffering, sanity drained in disrespect
With such bedeviled faith in good, subsequently trusting evil
Next step for mankind will be the last seasons in sin
