The issue is it's in EVERY major movie now, especially anything superhero focused. But since there are so many games available it's easier to dodge if it's not your flavor, and you can just skip the dialogue if the gameplay appeals but the story does not.
At first i tought "ah, the story is just there for the laughs" But by the end i was skipping most optional content to see how the story unfolded. It has good stakes, it is well structured and has likeable characters. The pacing gets a bit weird at the end, but that may just be me.
This is the 3rd time I've watched someone start this up, and I've loved it each time. Not only is the combat more puzzle-like than most tactical games, the banter is hilarious.
I can’t express how PERFECT the writing in this game is for me. It’s the happiest any character banter has made me in ages. Also: hard is interesting. It makes the game much more of a puzzle imo. Because gunshots now kill in a single hit, and you don’t get mana from interacting with doors and computers. So you are very limited in your special actions, and if you make one mistake, a character goes down. It’s rough, but fun
another bit of DNA from this company is their emphasis on throwing people out of windows Gunpoint has you leaping through glass windows, heat signature has one of the more effective and satisfying strategies be throwing someone out of the ship and now this
got this immidiately on release. i expected fun combat, and i was not disappointed. what i didn't expect was the conversations, those had me basically laughing nonstop for the first hour of play. That dry humor is just brilliant. Left a steam review telling them to give their writer a raise.
Honestly I think a great idea for this game is, at the end of each round you can watch the characters breach and clear the room in real time, without all the pausing and thinking
OMG Im so happy you did a introduction to this game. I saw someone else did a intro on it and it sold me, then i thought to myself it would be sick to see wanderbot to do an intro to it. So thank you.!!!
I remember seeing early concept art years ago and was aware that it might become a proper game, but handt actively followed development. And then two weeks ago I randomly thought of the designs again and a friend up that it was just about to release. Much like last year's Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, this game turned out to be everything i had hoped for and more.
This is one of those devs that makes me wanna buy their games simply because they are making this game. Also i always know they will add defenestration to their games so that's a plus.
I'm not finishing this video but not because it's bad. I loved Gunpoint and I think I'll love this one so I don't want to spoil myself. Thanks for pointing me to a nice game!
I read the title of the video, and I just came here to say that Tactical Breach Wizards isn't really a "strategy" game. It's a tactics game, granted, but there is no strategy to take into account between rooms, or missions. It's more of a tactical puzzle game. The only bit of "strategy" there is, exists in picking your upgrades as you level up, but even then, I'm fairly certain most, if not all, of the encounters can be tackled whichever upgrades you choose.
Wait, you haven't played the demo during the next fest? But yes the writing is hilarious, and i was waiting to see your reaction to the traffic warlock:)
I think the writing is quite good but it could have done well to let of the comedy pedal to let a moment later on settle before [SPOILERS REST OF THIS COMMENT IS REDACTED, PLAY THE GAME].
So, this is such a given but it is hard to talk about this game without mentioning the music. I remember being a kid and beating this game for the first time... The epic ending and the music felt like such an amazing reward.
@@Emanemmy12 my dude. Hahaah, this video must have popped on while I was watching another creator who was playing Shadow of the Ninja to the NES. SO SORRY, this comment appears as litter to this video. But this game is awrsome. Tactical Wizards is a badass and funny theme. Hhaah
I feel like quippy dialogue has been overdone by comic book movies, but this weird setting seems to make it work.

@@marcogenovesi8570 Ok boomer
this is also actually funny and clever, unlike marvel writing
I feel like there is genuine warmth in the writing in this game that is pleasant to read even if the humour doesn't land for me.

Agreed, I did an full playthrough of the entire game on Hard, didn't 100% it, but it was really fun

This looks fantastic. Added to my list for when I get through some of my other games.

Oh! Like super hot? Yeah, you feel badass whenever that happens. I’m not sure how it would work with tactical breach wizards though
I agree with you, defenetrate is by far the coolest word in the english language.
thus making the coolest event in history being the 2nd defenestration of Prague.

Omg I LOVED Heat Signature. I guess this is a must buy for me.
I really like the Jon Bois influence that seems to creep in here and there, like the "you are here" box in the tutorial.
Nothing like some... wel, a lot of, defenestration during a mission to lighten up the mood )
Hey mate, great playthrough. There's an option to change the speech bubble font from typewriter to normal, to help with reading if you've got Dyslexia
[big alarm on the wall goes off] TOM FRANCIS MENTIONED
This would be a fun series
It's not a 10 hour game.
I'm 9,7 hours in and only got through half of the campaign.
I'd say at the very least 20 or 30 hours.
It reminds me a lot to Shadowrun... which is a plus

Amazing setting, love combining magic with technology. Fun playthrough of a great game.
Glad you liked the game and the OST!
This is the closest we'll ever get to a Dresden Files video game.
You clearly haven't heard of "Unavowed", it's on Steam.
At 2:28, you can briefly see that the ship is named "Karaboudjan" - just like the one Captain Haddock (from the Tintin comics) commanded
So I saw this game when the demo came out, and loved it then. I really hope to see more
I'm not finishing this video but not because it's bad. I loved Gunpoint and I think I'll love this one so I don't want to spoil myself. Thanks for pointing me to a nice game!
Now we need a mod where Wander voice-acts the entire game!

I hope this comes to Nintendo switch. I love to play this!
Better become a series
Wow, wanna try it now
If you never played Heat Signature, I think you should try it!
Loving this game. I hope it gets more love and sales
