- Winter in Malta 2024 and everything you need to know about it. As beautiful it is, Malta has over 300 sunny days, but when it rains in Malta it REALLY RAINS! Malta in Winter is still beautiful, there is a lot that you can do in Drcember, January and February in Malta, we have the fairyland opening on 8th December in Valletta and closing on 7th January. Love. Love, Love your videos. Better than Netflix! My wife and I are coming for the first time for 4 days in the middle of January and staying in Valletta. Looking forward to the Valletta Baroque Festival. We're not worried about the weather, we're from Buffalo NY. Feels like -6 right now. We'd like to know where the locals eat. We don't like feeling like a tourist and eating touristy food. Thanks you for the great vids and many chuckles!!!

Very useful video Alex even my own experience of Xmas and new year in Malta from the 80's up until now before the attractions Malta has always had a great vibe and the Maltese people always make us welcome and and are the most friendly people I have ever met can't wait for another Xmas 🎉❤

You were right. 2016 we had 5 degrees Celsius. And besides the wind the humidity makes you feel cold as it creeps into your clothes and bones.
But I still prefer winters here than in Germany. :)

Hely Alex! First of all, congrats on your coming 9th year on the island already wow!! That just a further proof how good is this island actually...Ofc it's different for everyone, but I still believe in it that it's a livable island! Secondly, I can't wait to really see you during new years, wow Im getting goosebumps too, that finally ill be back on my beloved island! And third, now I feel proud of myself, because I exactly booked a hotel in Sliema :D

We are in Malta right now (February), the weather today started off cloudy, then got really warm and sunny late morning ( we had to take off hoodies, jumper), then about 3pm it started pouring it down, followed by hale stones the size of marbles! Evening was pretty cold, so yes very unpredictable!

We had a beautiful stay first time ever in the North of the island especially the peace and quiet during our stay at the radisson blu in Golden bay fantastic stay radisson blu hotel and spa was the most amazing place somewhere we are going to visit again in 2024 and definitely stay

Thanks a lot for this guide, i'm there in early January. I always take vacations totally out of season because places are nice and quiet there is super cheap accommodation. Not to mention the ridiculously cheap flights.
I'll visit Malta in January like the two last years also. Love the fresh air, hiking in Gozo and visit the beautiful restaurant/ bars ins Sliema.
I was lucky by heaving sunny weather the last two years :);

I love wintertime hoodies, jackets, and gloves. I live in the Midwest so we have a lot of snow and it's cold. But i can see how you love Malta Alex it sure is a dreamy island, that's for sure.

EXCELLENT BRIEF VIDEO ABOUT "WINTER IN MALTA" ☔ ☀.
The climate in Malta is typically Mediterranean, however it seems it hasn't escaped "Climate Change ". I notice Malta is getting both opposing extremities when it comes to rainfall, ambient temperatures and unpredictable weather /storms. Winter is short and as you said Alex, in the meantime, GOZO never disappoints🧘♂️🎄.
Must admit, I did love my St Paul's Bay in Winter 🌊🚶😊..

Never knew what year it was when we where there for Christmas …can tell you was the most coldest week we’ve been there
Iv been coming to Malta for roughly the past 10 years, mainly staying just after christmas to a few days after new years day. Last year like Alex said in my opinion was superb, i stayed for 9 days at the Paradise bay hotel facing the Gozo ferry terminal. The weather for my entire stay was fantastic, shorts and t shirt for during the day no problem, night time trousers and long sleeve shirt. The past 3 years i believe the winters in Malta have been pretty mild. Although i do remember one new years eve about 6 to 7 years ago i think and it dropped to 2 degrees it was freezing. I think it all depends on were the wind is coming from. Im across on the 23rd Dec for 10days so fingers x

Hi Alex - from an Irish perspective, aside from here in the U.K. (Manchester) where I’ve lived 21 years, the weather can also be very unpredictable in my native Ireland, including Dublin and in my home county of Meath in Ireland - I travel through the Port of Holyhead (in North Wales) on SailRail and because Manchester is further inland (colder winters), by the time the train or overnight coach (I’ve done both) reaches Chester (in England) on the Welsh border, you do notice some quite dramatic changes - when you get onto the ferry out of Holyhead, the Irish Sea can also be very unpredictable and aside from daytime crossings, this is especially true on overnight sailings in both summer and winter (I’ve done both) and I’ve been on some very rough crossings on the Irish Ferries Ulysses Cruise Ferry to Dublin - elsewhere in Ireland in Summer, once west of the River Shannon it never stops raining, yet we do have very mild Irish winters and it’s very rare to have snow

St Patrick’s Hotel in Xlendi Bay Gozo is a nice hotel where I’ve stayed a few times
My favorite time to visit Malta is winter. Not so many tourists, no crowded beaches, swimming in the sea is still possible, hotel rooms are very cheap

Hello we were 2 times in winter in Malta 2019, 2020 and it was beautiful, one time was very good weather. Where go to the shoping like typical bazar or Shopimng Center ?
What about a video best way to celebrate New Years eve in Malta? Do they have a fireworks display like in other countries and cool bars/clubs to go to.
I am coming from north of the polar circle and -10 in january. So anything above freezing temperature is good enough for me.

Hey Alex, been following you for a bit. Great video! I have a question for you, as I am looking to move to Malta soon. Do you think is realistic to live in Gozo if you a hybrid working model, working 3 days from home and 2 days from the office in Malta (hence you need to take the ferry two days a week)? Net salary would be about 2000 a month net, plus small bonuses. What would be your advice here?

We’re coming in end of January to first week of February in St.Paul’s bay is it going to be very cold? Also is it good to stay in that area at that time? And is it good idea to rent a car at that time? Parking will be available easily at that time?
Parking is always an issue in Malta but winter time is easier. SPB is more quite, to have fun and lore lively area you need to be in St Julians or Sliema

My daughter lived in Malta for 12 years, I’d say buy a weekly bus ticket for 21 Euro’s and you can hop on and off buses all and every day for 7 days and you will see every where.
, the bus ticket also included buses on Gozo, hope this has helped you, have a nice time.
