      It's because they have a "what do customers want, we'll build it" attitude, vs. a "you'll buy what we build" attitude that other companies exhibit. Plus their pricing has made them very competitive and really shaken up the market.

      The whole sim racing hardware market has totally tranformed over the past 4-5 years. Logitech wheelbases used to be some of the best bang-for-your-buck wheelbases on the market. Now Logitech's G29/G923/G920 (and even Pro model) are the absolute worst value products in all of sim racing. I guess, it makes since considering the G29's base design is essentially two decades old. Thank god we finally have some competition and innovation in the sim hardware market.

      And Moza as a Chinese company, it is much better than other Chinese companies which just copy and rebrand paste, Moza really build with quality and passion in BOTH hardware and software, and the concept and software are original which shown they really have the heart to build and provide good sim products.

    This is HUGE for Moza! Landing an industry partner like Microsoft and being a legit licensed direct drive for Xbox at this price level is about to strap the rocket onto these guys if their business can handle it. I sure hope that it can, we could see a major swell in this market even more so soon.

    • @arranmc182

      This is why unlike fanatech they use partners first to help sell products means they dont have to deal with direct sales they just ship the product to the partners and get them to deal with the sales side, I hear at times fanatech can be very slow with orders.

    • @mve_simracing
      @mve_simracing Місяць тому

      @@chrisbruchak4519 Your comment is from the perspective of someone who hasn't gone out and tried to maximize their hardware and then having an opinion on top of that.
      For example, rFactor 2 and if not mistaken, Le Mans Ultimate, have integrated gamepad filter that, when set-up right, makes a gamepad very viable. At this moment, I don't have the words to describe it but it's like in-game wheel force-feedback. The game does the corrections for you so one, you have additional visual feedback of what the car is doing by looking at the in-game wheel and two, your inputs are filtered so that you don't just snap to opposite lock in an millisecond.
      For Assetto Corsa, there is an app that does the same thing called Advanced Gamepad Assist. Basically the same idea as mentioned above.
      Despite all this filtering, I actually transitioned well and very quickly on Assetto Corsa from a gamepad with gamepad filtering to a direct drive wheel with load cell. I recently finished 2nd place in a local LAN simracing event, only just behind an eSports level driver.
      I may have explained this awfully so of course, trying it out in titles in game works the best.

    The Fanatec R2R bundle with the P1 V2 is $639AUD if you're on PC only.
    It's cheaper and has 1.1nm more power.
    TBH the wrc wheel is the same as the p1 wheel, but has xbox compatibility and alcentara rather than rubber on the rim.
    CSL DD can then be upgraded for 50aud to 8nm.
    There's no DD entry bundle as good a value as what Fanatec has if you're going on PC, and want the option to go that one bit further.
    To best that you need the Moza R9 and even then, it's not quite as good as the CSL DD 8nm overall

    Moza is not targeting the hardcore sim racers with this additional product. I mean, don’t get me wrong, great for Moza. They are building quite a brand in such a short time. But now they are sending a message that they are starting to divide their focus to a wider audience.

    Hey boss. I'm a console racer and consider myself slightly higher than "casual user." I own nearly every sim on Xbox. Only difference between me and a PC racer is whenever I've ever gotten on a PC, things start to go wrong that no one can predict. I can't keep up with how to make different software and hardware work like it's supposed to. Plug and play (not talking about wheel settings here, but PC settings) are absolutely critical. I almost bought a PC this week, but didn't because there are too many acronyms and values that i can't quantify in my old brain. I don't know what I'm doing so I'm staying in my lane. That said, I'm as serious about my sim racing as any PC user. I'm not alone in this, and i think it'd help us a ton if folks with a big impact like yourself (and many others, for sure) stopped referring to us as casual users and not serious sim racers. This label seems to have reduced the amount of R&D that goes into an already limited compatibility with consoles. For 2 years now I've watched dozens of brands with awesome products come out and none of them seem to even consider console as an option. I know some of that is the restrictive interface that consoles require, but couple that with the view that console racers aren't that serious and i think you get my point about them willing to branch into that market. Even this offering from moza is bare bones minimum quality (comparing to their PC offerings) at the absolute lowest price point, and not something a serious sim racer would buy. We need more representation on our (dumb to PC) side of things. Also, a PC equivalent of an Xbox series x costs twice the amount of the console. That doesn't make a lot of financial sense for someone like me who can never remember which letter after the number on a graphics card is best. Just saying. I do love your channel and love what you do. Just this one thing, please.

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  Рік тому

      I’m not sure at all how you reached that conclusion. I said in the video that it depends if you are playing more casual titles like Forza horizon and wreckfest or more serious titles like ACC. I didn’t say all console racers are “causal sim racers”.

    • @jamesmoore7858

      @@boostedmedia yes, point taken. Overall you're the one guy that at least acknowledges those like me exist. I didn't mean to make it seem like you were being a total gatekeeper. I apologize. It's just that console user representation is seemingly always undervalued and underrepresented, in my opinion. You go way further toward that than others do, and thank you for that. I'm only asking you to go a little further because you're the one that doesn't discount us completely. So perhaps I didn't express that well. Btw when i upgraded to load cell pedal it made a huge difference, and when i finally (after a year) got on my wife's laptop and adjusted the range and everything it got even better. I can't compare that experience to a PC experience, but i can tell you the difference between the standard TMX pedals and the T-LCM pedals was night and day on console. The clutch is terrible, but doesn't seem like the are many clutches out there that feel realistic. To my knowledge anyway.

    Great review @BM. Hopefully Moza can get things rolling with Sony. Tho I'm not putting much faith in Sony, as a PS5 user it's frustrating that Sony doesn't seem to do much partnering. If the opportunity does arise for a colab, it would do well for Sony to allow it to be via wheels rather than a commitment to a wheel base which would greatly reduce options, should a user or a PC player who may have a console want to use a moza system with PS5. Also it would not be cost effective to assume what type of power a PS5 player wants for the wheel base.
    Me personally would like to get the Moza R12 base and then choose a wheel hopefully at least two options. Then I could later invest in a gaming PC for non PS5 tiles or just a better ACC experience in general.

      I am so grateful that Moza has improved and should dominate the "mainstream" sim-racing market eventually. My extended experience with smarmy Fanatec--three failed wheelbases, a set of pedals, two shifters, and their hand brake. I don't care how big their ecosystem is, or even if they are almost giving everything away... I WILL NEVER BUY FANATEC AGAIN. The only Fanatec product that didn't fail me was their Clubsport v3 pedals. The last products I purchased from them were the SQ V1.5 shifter and their hand brake. Both began to malfunction within 3-4 months. At least I was able to repair the shifter, as the mechanical design is very good, but improperly shielded and grounded electronics cause repeated mis-shifts. I was not surprised when I heard about their DD bases having issues with their steering columns, and them falling apart. The most amusing thing, and as I again wasn't surprised, was a UA-cam content creator known for buying and modifying cars, purchasing a full Fanatec system--and parts of it failed within a couple of weeks.

Also the ecosystem is wide but outdated, 1st of all they need to change that damn Slow release and put a proper quick release in every wheel base and wheel and most important one, they need to get their shit together when it comes to costumer service, one of the worse i´ve seen, if something is defected or broken gj... at least with MOZA, since they have 3rd party sellers all over, if something is broken the 3rd paty store will give you the item brand new with no fuss.

    Just so we’re clear. It’s far better to have the security chip for the console in the base like the way PlayStation do rather than in the wheel itself because if Moza made a PlayStation compatible base, then you are able to use every single wheel they have made despite being made for the PC. Since the security chip is in the wheel for Xbox you can only use that wheel. Usually the base is not the part that you change. Normally people buy the base they want and then get a whole range of different steering wheels, but the fact you can’t do that with this wheel is a let down because if you buy this wheel you’re stuck with it

Then you buy a DriveHub (90) and a Wired Hori Ps4 mini controller (40-50) and you’re good to go. If you get the cheapest bundle it’ll be right around $580 after taxes and shipping. This is what I did and it works great on GT7, it’s not complicated just hook it all up and turn on the yellow light on the wheel base and it registers as a DD Pro. Can also get a 8nm boost pack from China for $40 if you don’t want to fork over $150 to Fanatec.
