      @@janosbaumgartner1352 i'm like 3 for 4 on Moza stuff needing to be returned, exchanged, or repaired. My r9v1 base wireless transmitter stopped working a year ago and Moza has sent me new ones to re-solder and replace myself, which I did, and it still doesn't work. The only product I've purchased from them that's worked as expected out of the box has been the CRP pedals. The HGP shifter was DOA after two shifts and the r9v1 having a messed up wireless transmitter bricked one of two of my wheels. If you get a Moza product, budget months and months of exchanging or repairs before you get it working.

    In car detailing they use a clear plastic protection film (PPF) usually used to protect the front of the car from stone chips etc.. That might be an option (and easy to install on something small like this) and a good way to stop the base getting scratched whilst being invisible and retaining the original carbon fibre look. It also just peels off if you need to replace it once it's worn.

      I would really suggest SimMagic. I'm 3 for 4 on my Moza stuff being defective. The HGP shifter I had to return immediately because it stopped registering downshifts after 2 hours. I had an R9v1 base whose wireless transmitter was faulty for about 2 years before Moza finally was like "okay here's a new wireless transmitter" that took me hours and hours to install, stripped a hex head bolt and everything. The Moza discord is unorganized, condescending, and difficult to find knowledgeable support so I learned quickly you have to deal with Moza directly - but budget 2-3 months in troubleshooting/shipping various replacement parts before you're up and going.

    tbh, having the mechanical bumpstop is nice. the VRS pedals have it, and it means you know when you hit 100%, so youre not starting your trailbraking from 110% force by accident

    • @katanamd
      @katanamd 4 місяці тому +9

      I'd say this is more an issue with the sim software than the pedals. No matter the car there should be no circumstance where you're reaching 100% of the available brake pressure. Especially because most real cars brake pressure are limited by the strength of the seals in the cylinders, with 100% being the point at which they fail.
      You should be hitting tire lock (or abs) well before the structural failure point of the brake hardware. Thus always allowing you to feel where you are in the brake input range.

    • @makoaki9071
      @makoaki9071 4 місяці тому +4

      The whole point of load cell brakes is to get muscle memory and replicate the same pressure easily, so that's kind of missing the point.

    • @ArchOfficial
      @ArchOfficial 4 місяці тому +4

      @@katanamd Overshoot for many racecars is up to 140kgf. If the pedal maxes out at for example 100kgf, you're gonna be hitting it momentarily.
      100% pressure is considered to be the overshoot max and it's calibrated for the application.

    • @michael1
      @michael1 17 днів тому

      Meh Fanatec were dumb and their demise was inevitable. They had no stock of anything, a crappy slow website, no distribution and a high failure rate and the big price drops when they started going under just showed everyone how overpriced their kit was. These Moza guys sell cheap crap that breaks, overheats and is never in stock too - but what little you can buy you can actually buy from a local retailer.
      In 2009 I bought a logitech driving force GT for £75 and, today, 16 years later I'm still using it fully working. I don't really expect stuff I pay 5x-10x the price today to last that long - that's the shame of the DD sim racing market. So yeah, if they start to go out of business that's not a great shock is it?

The only thing I'd like to see is your comparison of them compared to the Simsonn Pro Pedals, which had a good review from you so it just would of been nice since they fall in a lower price point than any pedals covered today, with better reviews than some others that were used for comparison.

    Say what you want about Moza copying the look of the Simmagic P1000s. With these, the upcoming active pedals and the Porsche wheel. And them releasing new firmware that improves the FFB of their bases a lot. Mona’s really stepping it up.
    They were pretty much of a budget brand. But I bet these with the active pedals and the Porsche wheel and their 21nm base could be $5k range.
    Im planning out my 1st build and I think I’ll wait for reviews of the active pedals and Porsche wheel before I buy anything. Before their recent product announcements they weren’t even a little bit on my radar, but they have my attention now.

      Moza et al could launch anything but until these tinpot sim racing companies actually figure out how to make more than 5 at a time it's a waste of time - especially since youtubers get 4 of those 5 available. In Moza's case they have to make an extra version for each one sold to send out the replacement when it breaks too. It's just farcical looking for sim racing stuff and everything is "out of stock" or "preorder"

  • @Leo-pi2qp
    @Leo-pi2qp 3 місяці тому +2

    I have one question, and sorry if I missed the comparison in your video. I'm building a new SimRig with the Simagic Alpha Wheelbase, and I'm trying to decide between two pedal options: the Simagic P1000F or the Moza CRP2. I know the P1000F offers a lot of customization and add-ons, but those come at a high price. One advantage might be staying within the Simagic ecosystem, but if I eventually add a clutch and h-shifter, I'd have to go outside the ecosystem anyway since the Simagic shifter is too expensive for me.
    On the other hand, the Moza CRP2 pedals seem similar in performance but are a bit cheaper. I also prefer the design of the Moza pedals, especially the pedal faces. Plus, Moza offers a more affordable ecosystem for adding things like a clutch pedal, h-shifter, and handbrake in the future.
    Would you say the Moza CRP2 pedals provide decent performance compared to the P1000F? Or are the P1000F worth the extra cost?

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  3 місяці тому +2

      I think if the cost is prohibitive and you can put it towards other stuff you want then the Moza pedals will probably have you satisfied.

    • @michael1
      @michael1 17 днів тому

      Get the P1000 or P500, Moza pedals have a habit of breaking and you want to wait at least 12 months to see if these have bucked that trend - or just get a different brand there are more than 2. Remember boosted gets everything for free and has so much stuff it's not getting a lot of use - the adage buy cheap pay twice applies to the rest of us who actually buy and use kit. And forget this 'ecosystem' bullshit - it's meaningless. That said there's plenty of people who have own plastic pedal sets that came with logitech wheels for decades - if you're on a budget don't dismiss the loadcell offering from these brands. You know I have a £75 driving force GT and I've never once fretted about whether the pedals were going to get damaged from me putting my heels on them - there's a lot of fuckwittery in simracing where plastic is seen as bad and metal / carbon as good without a great deal of thought into that - e.g they make riot shields out of plastic and there's plenty of cheap metal stuff - cheap tools, fake bike parts etc. The notion that plastics are all cheap or inferior and metals strong and good is far from reality. The bottom line here : Sim racing stuff is all overpriced by at least 2x, sometimes as much as 5x simply because simracers are mugs and the hardware is not manufactured at large enough scale - so you're going to pay over the top whatever you buy - that's just a fact of sim racing life.

      I would really suggest SimMagic. I'm 3 for 4 on my Moza stuff being defective. R9v1 base had a defective wireless transmitter that was corrupting wheel firmware updates intermittently for about two years before Moza finally sent me a part to replace it the transmitter. That took a weekend and several new tools to remove stripped bolts. HGP shifter was intermittent after 2 hours and returned. Their Discord is also incredibly condescending and not very useful outside of very tier 1 "restart it and flash your firmware" type of responses. You learn quickly with this company to contact Moza directly, but definitely budget 2-3 months of troubleshooting/shipping defective stuff back and forth before you're up and running.

    Hey Will,
    I have strong intentions to finally upgrade from a Logitech G923, and I'm struggling between two options.
    One is a Fanatec CSL DD QR2 8Nm with the Fanatec Clubsport v2.5 X wheel and the Clubsport v3 pedals, the other one consists of the Moza R9 Base with the ESX wheel (plus the ES F1 add-on) and the Crps2 pedal.
    Basically, the Moza ESX wheel looks too cheapjack to mee, I'd prefer the Fanatec's v2.5X, but as for the pedals, I couldn't make a decision. I find both great, pros and cons here and there. However, I almost exclusively play only on F1 23 and F1 24, and the situation is, that the platform is Xbox series X. Not to mention, I'm also afraid of Fanatec's background after Corsair takeover and also the deliveries issues by which UPS is described all over Europe. Whilst, Moza could be brought from a reseller in my country (Hungary).
    Could You please help me, which pedal (and which system) would be Your choice and why?
    Thanks for Your response,
    Janos

I still don't think these are good enough to directly compete with the P1000 especially with the aesthetic downgrade - but these seem like a good cheaper option with much of the same functionality I am glad Moza realized the pedals needed to be more practical. Me personally I cant see ever needing anything better than my P1000 inverted pedals, with the haptics they are soooo freaking good ill probably never upgrade.

My real world daily drive has the accelerator to the left of brake and I would like to copy this for my sim racing setup. I will only ever use 2 pedals, however I would like to be able to quickly convert to right of brake when my mates want to drive.
    Is this possible without physically moving the pedals? Can pedals be assigned via software or player profiles or switching cables, could I buy a 3 pedal assembly and assign both outer pedals as an accelerator and the inside pedal as the brake.

Moza is trying to compete with the P1000, but they already lost the battle in my opinion. I think they should offer the set of 3 pedals for 399 because then it will attract the mid range sim racer. If these was 100 pound cheaper, I would be able to get them, But as it stands there is no way I could justify spending 500 for a 3 pedal set, Charging hundred pounds for a clutch pedal is crazy if you ask me, Every pedal set should have a clutch regardless, We shouldn't have to buy a clutch to be honest, Even if most cars of today and race cars don't really use a clutch, A clutch is always a handy tool to have, Call me weird but I like to heel to toe even in a GT3 car, lol, I find the heel to toe action helps with more engine braking, The back end don't swing out when heel to toe action is involved, Like I said call me weird lol.....
    I will say though the software and after watching more of the video, The pedals is made well, And like I said the software and Bluetooth makes up for the price, But still too much for me, I will have to stick with Thrustmaster by the looks of it, i really do want a quality set of pedals, And could do with an upgrade to keep me in the sim racing, A boring set up gets boring faster lets just say, And sim racing is so big now surely companies can start becoming a tad bit cheaper, Like i said if they was 100 pounds cheaper or adding the clutch for free would help people like me who is a bit under the range of prices that these is, still though there will be a market for these, Just not for me, lol, I am happy with what I got, But it would be nice to have a new set of pedals, That would get me more involved with the sim racing, Between my depression and anxiety I get days where I am like F it, I can't be arsed sim racing today, And it is because having the same equipment gets repetitive, It seems like it is healthy to up your equipment within Sim Racing, Unless you got a few grand for a high end set up, I really do think high end equipment would keep you sim racing more, So to speak, Don't ask me why I think that, I guess the same set up for ages will create boredom, I only do online sim racing now, I no longer sets up races with AI, And maybe it is the repetitiveness of using the same equipment, I do feel though if some mid to high end equipment for sim racing was a bit cheaper a lot more people would get involved in sim racing, As it stands most people struggle to pay bills let alone buying a set up for sim racing, lol, I see PC parts is getting cheaper so why not the sim racing equipment, lol....
    Still though I can see people buying these after seeing this review, If I had the spare few hundred pounds II would buy a set, Even if I do really hate the fact that the clutch is a separate purchase when it shouldn't be, I like to have a clutch so I would have to get one, And sim racing companies knows this, All i am saying is a clutch should be included as standard....
    Still though great review, Will......
    Hope life is treating you well.....

      @@thijsazerty692 A bit harsh ain't it, I am just bugged out why we have to pay extra for a clutch pedal, I am old school in that way, The main reason I got a GT-RS wheel, It comes up as a T500, Probably a PS5 thing, So you like paying extra for another pedal that really should be there in the first place, no offence but most cars got a clutch pedal makes it a bit more immersive IMO when you got a clutch on your rig, But yeah I bought the GT-RS wheel purely coz it was a steering and pedal set with a clutch that I could afford, And the TH8S shifter, It is plastic but for the price it is a good shifter, If I had bought the Moza wheel and pedals that would of been the same price, I would not have the clutch or gear stick, And coz I sim race in VR a fancy wheel isn't a big issue for me, And the GT-RS wheel is a lot better than the G29 I was using before, I am only being 100% honest when I say I can't afford the extra for the clutch and no clutch for me is just weird, I grew up driving cars using a clutch, So really a clutch should be included, It just seems counter productive to the brand if people got to pay extra for a clutch, If the brand includes the clutch the brand will sell more of the pedals, Coz if I feel I need or want a pedal to get the most from a sim rig then there will be other people who is in the same mind set as me, I don't mind sticking with Thrustmaster myself if it is an eco system that is within my budget, Like I said a pedal set with just the 2 pedals would be weird for me, I am used to driving cars with a clutch so I prefer to heel to toe, I guess it is just called toe without the clutch, lol....
      And my comment was not a bash at Will, Will put together a top review here, Just with the clutch it is out of my price range, I am going to stop commenting, because there always seems to be one who wants to bash me for wanting to use a clutch and that I feel it should be included with the pedals set period.....
