Hi, if I bring this Xbox-enabled ES wheel to R12, can the HGP shifter / handbrake also work? I.e., the Xbox-ES wheel is the key the full moze compatibility? Thanks a lot!
Great review, I love my R5 and this looks great too. I can see why they don't include the brake upgrade in the bundle because you can only just use the pedals without bolting them down. With the brake upgrade you definitely need to bolt them down.
I have owned and sold the Logitech G920 wheel a couple of times, couldn't shake the feeling of it being more of a toy. I'm looking to build a quality budget sim driving setup. I have a solid custom gaming PC, but also enjoy the idea of connecting this to Xbox when I want. Do you believe this new Moza R3 is still enough of a step up from the G920 or is the Moza R5 worth the additional $100 and lack of console functionality (with the possibility of adding an Xbox compatible wheel down the line)?
I wish that they would've release a comparable qheelbase to the R9 or R12 that's Xbox or PlayStation compatible to satisfy the community. Cause I believe that 4nm is not enough for consumers who wants more torque
I still need to see it in action but supposedly that Xbox ES wheel will work on an R12. If it has a pedal port it should work. Make sure you’re subscribed 😄
@@9to5toys only problem with that. Is MOZA are not offering the wheel. As a stand-alone at the moment. It’s good MOZA are not console compatible now. But 3.9nm is not enough.
Yes, it will be interesting to see what Moza does with a stand-alone wheel for Xbox. Considering that this bundle won't be available until late Sept and given their speedy release schedule, I hope that becomes available soon
I believe that one is "Xbox Ready" meaning it would need a different Xbox compatible wheel. Maybe I missed it but the cheapest bundle I see that works with Xbox out of the box is $480
@@9to5toyswow I didn’t pick up on that. Kinda misleading. Still for only additional $79 seems the better value? Would be great to do a comparison with this moza. Thanks
why nobody talking about shipping prices of moza ? i was about to order r5 bundle with some upgrades and in the checkout it does calculated 170 euros shipping cost so imidiately i canceled checkout and went for fanatec where it was only 35 euros shipping. I am located in the EU but should they have EU warehouses or something ? anyway i think this is huge NO NO for the moza if shipping was lower i would definitely have moza on its way to me. what was shipping cost for you guys ? Did you pay whis high amount as well or it was cheaper for you ?
I''m using a TS-PC racer from thrustmaster at this moment, want a wheel that also is compatible for xbox since i recently got one. Does anyone know if this will feel like a downgrade compared to the (belt driven) TS-PC or will this be a major upgrade?
I has the R5 @60% and it's more than enough strength...more than real sports cars. Those saying you need R9 or more is talking bullshit and never drove a real sports car....
I use R5 at 50-60% too, it's more powerful than a car with power steering. But open wheelers with no power steering need more torque. Doesn't really matter though.
Hey man pretty good review, if I may add a suggestion it would be if your gonna review a Xbox based wheel maybe don’t be like oh I plugged it into my pc and assetto worked perfectly lol. Cause from my understanding this wheel dosent work on assetto on Xbox yet, I clicked on the r3 review cause I’m looking at playing on my Xbox, but your testing everything on pc… Just dosent make much sense
The wheel is what makes it compatible with Xbox, not the R3 wheelbase. But, the ES wheel does have a Formula mod and I believe you could purchase that and install it on the ES Xbox wheel. Hope that helps!
@@THESHADOW97139I find it very amusing you think it's some "aha" moment when they explicitly say on their site that it's not compatible with ACC on consoles.
it's fine and preferable for me, i only use gt/formula cars so i don't need the clutch pedal which won't be used and is an unnecessary cost for me. if someone wants it, they can get it. nothing to be sad about, just add the pedal to the cart, not exactly difficult.
@@voongnz I like real cars and real motorcycles. Video games are nice sometimes. I’m sad that manual transmissions are vanishing from the REAL world and that a set up like this is becoming more of the norm to simulate a real car. It’s sad. Will be sad again when most cars are AI driven.
@@zero11010 i like real cars and bikes too. i've had my motorcycle licence for 15 years and now also drive a 6speed H-pattern with a hks twin plate clutch that is on/off with about 5mm of travel and heavy. i don't need or want it in my sim rig, if someone wants it they can have it, but i don't want to pay extra for something i don't want and use. i get that you're doing a commentary on the motor industry as a whole, but in this context of sim racing i want set ups that don't force me to purchase something unnecessary to me.
@@voongnz sure. I’ve only had one sim set up. A nice seat and Logitech wheel set up. 3 pedal driving with the standard manual shifter. Loots of fun. Not an outstanding job simulating a clutch, but, at least it was something. I prefer driving “realistic” cars in my sim games. Unless it’s over the top and futuristic or something. I’ve never enjoyed driving true race cars. It’s just not interesting for me personally. An M4 or a classic S2000 works well for me. I feel like there’s a point of comparison. I have no idea if some F1 or F2 game is realistic. Put me in a Corvette or a type R and I feel much more at home.
@@zero11010 good for us that we have options on the sim right? there's something for everyone. for me i drive my realistic real car on b-roads and occasionally on the track when i want the real driving experience. as for something that i'm sure i'll probably never get to experience irl, i have gt3's on acc. i may or may not get a shifter, pedal and handbrake later on if i decide try another sim that uses H-pattern, maybe ac2 when it comes out.
After a firmware update, I was able to get the ES Xbox wheel working perfectly on the R5 base

Does it work with the shifter when on Xbox?

Can you add a different wheel to the base and it still work on Xbox?
Can we use an aftermarket shifter with the wheel?
This is compatible with gt omega apex stand?
I don’t suppose anyone knows when these will arrive in to the UK market?
Does the Shifter and 3rd pedal work with this on Xbox??
I am waiting for your review of the blackwidow v4 75%, since you are a fan of the tactile switch and especially the Aqua as I have in my hyperx
Can the SR-P pedals be used with the R3 wheelbase on Xbox?
I got my SRPs today and it didn't come with the correct RJ cable, I'll get a RJ cable and see if it works hopefully it does when I get my R3
Yes. R3 base + SRP pedals(not lite) on xbox. it works.
The company says no but it works well. I don't know why :).
Is it compatible with foldable sim seat setups? I want something that can be folded away and I am not ready for a dedicated sim setup as of now
It should be. Moza does make a plate if you are unsure your stand will bolt to it.
LED RPM avaible in ACC Xbox Version?
