its cool how its the wheel thats compatible with xbox so theres nothing stopping you from getting the more powerful base. just have to use that wheel. cant wait for moza to fix the acc issues for me to purchase
@@FlemoEFC1878 yes I know. Meant after you bought the bundle a d you want to upgrade
@@otavioteixeira3207 I highly doubt it, it's been 5 months and they still haven't even released the bundle R3 kit, I'm struggling to see this even releasing before the next Xbox never mind separating the wheel and packages to work with everything else, I've been waiting to order one for months but it seems like they made a few prototypes to give influencers on UA-cam for free then abandoned the people who want to pay full price for it
Not how it works buddy. The wheel isn’t what makes it Xbox compatible it’s the wheelbase. So no you can’t use this wheel on a r5,r9,r12,r16 those bases aren’t Xbox compatible lol learn what you’re talking about 😂😂
Thanks for the excellent video. Very helpful.
Thanks for the video 👍. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of this…and hope it’s soon😇
Will you guys be at the Sim Expo 2023 in Dortmund?
quick question. If you are on PC does the X-box button equal to xbox game bar? And will the same button (start) on the R5 do the same thing?
What do you think, does it work well with the Playseat Challenge and the new Playseat Challenge X? Thank you 😊
Waiting for it to be available in the market. When it will be launched?
just 3h ago I was comparing Fanatec and Moza :))
Even though you say the Gear/belt driven wheels are a dying breed, you still need to have them for an "Entry Level" Setup. The R3 Bundle is not entry level. Its the next step up from a G29 /G923.
In New Zealand you can pick up a G29 Bundle for $400 on sale. A G923 for $475 on sale. An R3 Bundle at the moment is $899 - That's a huge difference in price.
hey have yall figured out how to make the rpm shift lights actually work on asseto corsa not acc but ac
Can I ask a question? I was looking at upgrading my G920 on Xbox with the R3 but I could spend more money. Should I be looking at the Fanatec CSL DD Ready to race Bundle or the PXN V12 Lite?
Do you think tbis will be compatible with the drivehub?
ACC not compatible with this wheel for Xbox? It only said Assetto Corsa :(
hi, can this R3 enable the moza hgp handbrake and shifter on XBOX? Thanks.
Is there any delay in playing Forza horizon 5 on xbox
I know force feedback is not as PC but is there any delay?
and you said there is some screen daley decent gameplay
could Moza fix this in future ? Because I think it's not good in Xbox They should improve this problem
does the steering wheel works on other moza dd for xbox
Will it release this Oct?
Not sure why Logitech have not made a lower powered version of the DD wheel or made an F1 wheel for the G Pro yet.
Yeah they have the entry level G923 and the expensive G Pro. They need to have a DD base half way between the two.
When it's coming out?
I wish they actually had stock of these units available. I'd have bought one but here we are, no wheelbase, no wheel and petals but I've got Forza and my XSX
Works well on ACC for Xbox? Not listed, but would like to know since AC is different from ACC.
i watched a different review saying it should be compatible but theres issues atm.
The Cammus C5 is probably the most direct competitor to this actually being the cheapest DD bundle.
I think its advantage against the C5 is that the wheels can be replaced. But the C5 is really a great alternative.
@@johndc7446 Indeed. It seems like the C5 is the closest competitor to the R3, and the CSL DD is closer to the R5 in terms of competition.
Why would you make a wheel for xbox but then it doesn't let you play ACC on xbox?
Just wish i knew when it was coming out “/
So a little bit of graining aside, would you say this direct drive mechanism is better than a t300rs and a g920? Because even tho these are all entry level wheels people say it is very much possible to reach a really high (almost pro) level with a t300rs so if you can do that with a t300rs you definetely can with this and even more right? I have no experience with direct drive wheels so before buying it i would really like to know if it is truly better in terms of feel than those 2 and that you can definetely go as fast or faster more easily.
Night and day is a good way to put it, but it won't be a wheel that makes you a pro, there are plenty of "pro's" On controller. It's more about understanding how a car handles and how to use the tool that you have, even if it is a keyboard. Will a DD wheel make it easier? Absolutely!
I think drifting is a good example. I started my sim racing journey way back in 2013! G27 days I started to slide out of corners for fun, took me a while to get used to it, but I got it! Controlling a slide is not always important, but understanding your car while racing it helps a lot being able to catch your car from sliding!
T300rs Days, I started to drift. I understood the concept and what I need to do, but the timing for me felt off until I figured it out. The wheel is too slow to react! You drift essentially in the direction your wheels are turning, if your wheel doesn't react = you spin out. Unless you pull the wheel yourself, which is what you need to do with G whatever.. Gear driven wheels and Belt driven wheels. They just don't react fast enough. Your visual input comes first, then the wheel reacts. Not good!
DD wheels on the other hand? You want to drift? Power over and let go of the wheel, the wheel will turn where your wheels are pointing. The rest it just manipulating where you want to go. On DD wheels you will receive A LOT of detail in your wheel, long before you can see it visually in the game, and then some things you will never see in game, like a small bump or a texture of a particular part of the track.
For me is a DD wheel worth it over Gear driven wheels or belt? No contest, it is either DD or nothing. Honestly I rather use a controller, than a gear or belt driven wheel.
But also look at the materials on offer. G920 or T300, whichever it might be. Plastic, everything is plastic! Even the wheels! VS metal construction of Moza for example, won't always be the case of course, but you can see it here.
Other than that Gear driven wheels make a lot of noise, you fight the gears inside a lot and you lose a lot of detail in the process, feels like breaking the wheel.
Belt driven wheels, feel a bit better, but you still fighting the mechanism of the wheel and it delays everything, makes the detail feel very vague, goes for both gear and belt driven wheels.
Don't worry about NM, it's the detail not the strength of the detail.
@@WildStyle thank you for taking the time to analyze it like this. I only ever had a non force feedback hori apex wheel on ac and acc and with enough practice I got to a pretty high level. So trust me I know that people can get super good even with a keyboard if they spend enough time. What I was referring to is that better wheels make that process much faster so I wanted to know if a dd wheel even a mid range one like this will feel good enough to drive anything and at a high level pretty quickly if you have experience. Thank you for that answer.
@@stathispapadopoulos7926 Let me put it this way. I would take a 0.5nm DD wheel over gear or belt driven wheels as long as the response is instant. As DD wheels tend to have. I don't have experience exactly with a low NM DD wheel, but It's the technology itself that allows for a much more direct "Connection to the road". With a bundle like this R3? Gear driven and belt wheels are on their way out and fast. For a good reason, they are just not as good. It will feel very natural to drive a DD wheel, How good you get will depends on you, but certainly more easy if you receive the correct information instantly. :)
Try project cars 2 on the cali highway
Works on carx Xbox?
I think you would have to be nuts to choose a G923 or T300 over this. Hell even the TS range altho having 2nm extra, wont give you that direct drive goodness.
I went from Logitech to Fanatec CSL DD. I would say its not the FF or the wheel that is the upgrade. Its the pedals. The pedals is really much much better and it was what made me faster in sims. If you dont have much money, just spend them on new pedals, just to get a brake pedal where you can feel how much brakes you use makes a lot for laptimes. Also, its hard to compare Nm, since the DD wheels usually are bigger, and heavier.. which makes those 3,5Nm have to rotate more mass and the bigger radius makes it feel less strong, than on a small diameter plastic wheel.
Shame its only on xbox, I can’t find a DD wheel for PS4/5 for anything less then £600 ($750) ish
random question.. the R3 bundle is $440 and the R5 bundle is $460
seems like if you're on PC theres no reason to get R3 any more?
@@SIMRIG412 what? I asked about pc not Xbox
bought the fanatec anyway 🤷♂️
Tested with Forza Motorsport 8?
Can you confirm that the r5 or any other moza base works on xbox with the xbox branded wheel rim attached?
I tested the ES Xbox steering wheel with the R9 base out of curiosity, and sadly this didn’t work.
@@TraxionGG The Xbox TPM "chip" is obviously just not on the wheel rim itself, then.
I hear it works on wheelbases that have the pedal port in the back, so R3, R5 and R12. No idea if they will update to the others, probably not because consoles would require just 1 usb connection.
@@TraxionGG Thank you very much for the informative review. May I ask what is the weight of the R3 wheel base compared to R5?
@@voongnzi hope someone tests it out and proves it, would be a big help for my curiosity if nothing else lol
I still can’t get this to fully work with F1 23 on Xbox. Through much trial and error I finally got it to the point where I can, mostly, navigate the menus and control throttle and brake. But the steering is all shot to hell. First thing is that when my moza wheel is centered, the game is full left lock. Second thing is that I only need to move my wheel about 30 degrees to get it to go from lock to lock in game. I’ve got both the physical wheel and the in game setting matched at 360 degrees. I have no idea what’s going on. Incredibly frustrating. This wheel has gotten favorable reviews online and I got it specifically to play F1. If anyone has any guidance for me, I’m all ears.
It seems like the game might be picking up your wheel inputs as if it's a controller. Have you tried it with the controller fully disconnected? Hopefully someone that has had a similar issue can help you out!
Yes, I have attempted this without a controller turned on. I can turn on my Xbox and manipulate the main Xbox menus without issue, with the wheel. I can launch the F1 23 game with the wheel with no issue as well. But the game doesn’t recognize the wheel it seems. None of the controls on the wheel do anything in the game. I can’t even fast forward through the opening cinematic. Can’t get to the game’s main menu. Nothing! I don’t know how to get the game to “see” the wheel.
I can turn on an Xbox controller to navigate to the settings and then button map things to my wheel. Which is what I’ve done. But that led to the issues I mentioned in the previous comment.
Clearly the game can “see” my wheel when I’m mapping buttons, but it doesn’t recognize it natively.
And in the game settings for controls, the only options listed are for Xbox controller settings or keyboard settings. There’s no wheel option to even choose from.
So I’m at a complete loss as to how to remedy this.
Too bad the main issue with Xbox, regardless of wheel brand, is any wheel that has more inputs than a controller will not be mappable. Example: LSB & RSB on the wheel will be always be gas and brake. No way to remap with current Xbox standards.
Was this the issue mentioned that you were reaching out to Moza about?
What’s up with the rev lights not working?
What bmw is that. Sounds absolutely epic
It’s the Class 1 BMW that wasn’t meant to race in DTM the year things switched to GT3 regulations. Because of this switch, sadly this car never got to race 😢
@@TraxionGG they changed the engine for gt3 regulations too? I dont know much about regulations
Do you really need 5nm or is 3nm enough?
You don’t need 5, but I can certainly see many people preferring 5 for that little extra detail and clarity. If you have the budget, 5 is a small improvement but if you want to save money the 3 is still a great option!
I have a non ffb wheel and only play games like beamng, forza 5 and carx like no simracing and i wonder how much torque i really need. The r3 costs 440€ and the r5 550€ so i would go with the r5 but its useless when i dont need the extra 1.6nm.
@@OsiZIt is 3.9 nm not 3 nm.
I think the R3 should be great for your use.
@@JubbLaRacing yeah but people having overheating problems running 100% on moza bases
@@OsiZ I didn't know that, but i don't think you would want to use it on 100% ffb anyway.
Why put forza motorsport in the title and then not test the game at all...
