You do need electricity to flush if you have well water, the pump runs on electricity and that's what she was talking about...

We lost power once for six days and the pumping station was out as well and we eventually had no water either. So we used pool water to flush.
It actually works very well. You just dip a bucket into the tub and pour a bucket full of water down the toilet and it’ll flush.
