    Hey guys. Appreciate the work. Former USCG. Ivan, Irma, now Ian. Keep a go bag be ready to move and stay alert. It’s not just the immediate impact we should take into consideration, it’s also the aftermath. Are you prepared to care for yourself and others when electricity and water is a zero factor?. If you have to survive due to factors that prevented your evacuation, think through what a minimum 4 day survival takes for rescue. Don’t touch the water as it rises and remain on highest elevation possible within view of air rescue. Please have fluorescent spray paint or smoke to make yourself noticeable.

    The National Hurricane Center should always be the ultimate authority. Anyone new to these storms should listen to State and Local announcements and preparation information. I have been through numerous Hurricanes, Typhoons and Tropical Storms. I responded to Katrina with the National Guard and was in Bay St. Louis, MS after it hit. The people who always suffer the most are the ones who didn't prepare or heed the warnings. Better to prepare and be spared than not to and regret it.

      @@Stalicone You are out of your mind (typical Cali) LOL. Earthquakes are RARELY an issue for more than a few thousand people and damage is limited to minor to major structural issues that usually don't affect many people in a significant way and VERY rarely kill anyone. LAst "serious" earthquake was when???? SF Bay area during World Series over 30 YEARS Ago ?Hurricanes nearly always kill many and leave entire communities in shamble for long periods of time (Houston 5 years ago and New Orlenas KAtrina are just two of at least 10 in the past 20 years alone.

    They said the exact same thing ( track ) when Gary was taking aim at New Port Richey, years back. BUT, when Gary reached the Ft. Myers parallel, it did a 90 degree turn and made landfall in Ft. Myers.
    You just don't really know what a hurricane will do til it gets within a day of your city.

    These are the component to create *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing HSV products: the _Community Room_ sells for $37,000, the _Bathroom_ costs $35,000, and the _Services Office_ costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a HSV. The two person _Shelter 64_ costs $7,000. 100 X $7,000 = $700,000. For $781,000 the city can establish a HSV for 200 residents. For $160 million a city can establish 205 HSVs to shelter 41,000 residents.

That's why the cone of certainty has that huge circular blob in the panhandle now; because the models are still counting on a cold front to pull it north......but i doubt that will happen. I predict a Tampa/St Pete landfall and the I-4 corridor path straight into Daytona to JAX.

    Will Pinellas County get affected very bad by the hurricane

    • @charlespayton2808
      @charlespayton2808 Рік тому

      Yes, it will be affected. It is likely in it's path. Pinellas county is low and has water on all three sides, and is not very wide from gulf to Tampa Bay. You are likely going to see significant storm surge(water being pushed out of the Gulf of Mexico) into land causing flooding, and wind damage

"Everybody on the team actually wants to get this built," said Marc Collins, the CEO of _Oceanix,_ a company that builds floating structures. "We're not just theorizing." P
