I think these talking heads don't see the real danger. IF this lands on Charlotte, it will have other effects since already the higher ground, and rivers that feed into that charlotte area, will be pouring back all the water that has been drenching the eastern areas. IF the hurricane stalls out and dumps even more water in this area, which is low, you will have homes completely flooded. Oh, and let's not forget about the 5 PM high tide tomorrow?
Not diminishing the possible devastation, scientists and engineers should be working on ways to stop these in there track. I understand satellites can detect an eye forming when its about 1/4 of a mile across. Small enough to have one of the weaker walls blown apart with munitions or microwave technology. It's time we try to control this terrible life threatening hazard.
