@@cursivejay Let's put it this way, if your logic were to become the norm in a country, and all news anchors spoke with the lexicon of a 10 year old, where in the end, correct use of language didn't matter "as long as you get the point", and nobody critiqued that, everyone in that hypothetical country would start talking like that, language would decay, and in a relatively short time, that entire country downgrades to the levels of that movie "Idiocracy", and in case you haven't seen it, imagine a country permanently ran by Kamala Harris, where she becomes the ultimate authority in all areas, political, scientific and academical, fast forward that place 25 years and you get the picture. Either way, regardless of if you agree or not with the following, language determines how you think, and is one of the most important pillars of culture. Culture determines the quality of life of a society, let language decay and the rest follows. And by the way, the news anchor in the video didn't have any issue "intuitively understanding" what was being shown in the VERTICALLY filmed clip, yet he did go over and made his critique, so following your way of thinking, he shouldn't be nitpicking on how to hold a mobile while recording. But that's not how things improve, right? Have a nice day!
@@karlg6663 I don't think the English language is losing its meaning because some reporter for a local station doesn't know how to relay instructions for filming in landscape mode in a manner that pleases your command of the lexicon. You must have long legs to be taking leaps so enormous.
My sympathy to all the affected people, but a polite reminder, that to convey a full sense of the impact of any noteworthy event, you should always hold your phone side to side in landscape mode. After all, our eyes are placed side to side, and not top to bottom. Imagine just how annoying it would be, to watch a movie in portrait mode.
Walking around where the storm has caused the water to recede…pretty sure I read once that’s the exact way a bunch of people died in the Galveston storm in I believe 1900…
my guy really just roasted him for not using landscape mode. 💀
🤣
I like the fact that he got called out for filming vertically🤣🤣🤣

"East west, not north south", lol the guy could just say horizontally and vertically... Aside from the fact the north is not up in the sky...
Bold of you to assume the average Floridian ( who stayed behind in a HURRICANE MIND YOU ) knows the words “horizontal/vertical” 😅
@@Reblwitoutacause count how many hurricanes the average Floridian goes through. One can't leave for every single one. 😂
I didn't have any issue intuitively understanding what he was saying, and apparently neither did you, so this is a pointless critique.

I love how the guy said record with your phone so we could use it for tv and I’m like wow

Film horizontally for us in the rare event we use your video, even if it doesn't work where you post.
