The scenery on that Namakwa Eco trail is stunning & very reminiscent of the scenery on the Namibian side. It's a beautiful part of the world for lovers of desert wilderness.
I have travelled in that region a number of times & would never tire of it.

That uphill section you did. That was quite steep, don’t think the cameras did it justice.
Good set of tyres you have there because you had lots of traction

@@gregorygoodspeed8235 you are correct yes. It is difficult to capture and the caravan adds weight. The Maxxis does grip well, but that is something I have known for a while when I saw them on other vehicles.

Great video! Klein Pella also has a wild camp right next to the river that is hidden between the trees. Know the river washes it away during floods and not sure if it still exists. Camped there twice, many years ago when still living in Aggeneys and worked for Rudy Niemöller. His father Gert Niemöller started Klein Pella farm and the history of that place and area is incredible. Amazing stories that you can sit and listen to for hours.
Just out of interest, some scenes from a Nicolas Cage movie, Lord of War, was shot very near to the Halfmens forest on Klein Pella.

I do not think it is wise to take your family without another vehicle into these vast desert spaces it can be dangerous
these places get very hot during summer time and without help you can die there without water and help, please remember
it is desert even if it looks not the same.

Good day. Thank you for your concern. Please note that this was not the entire trail. Risk management were done before the trip. Various experts were contacted with regards to the route driven as well as a trial run a couple of days before the trip to ensure that the route is safe. I have also completed various 4x4 driver trainings (TETA accredited) to ensure I am familiar with my vehicle and various recovery techniques. We also had almost 100L of water and this trip was done in July.
