This is the last video in the 3 Part Series. Remember to watch the first videos in the series where we have travelled to Camdeboo & Graaff-Reinet Storms River Mouth
I only saw this in 2023, I must say the views were spectacular and I can imagine the quiet and peace of the place. I love it. Your video was inspirational to me and I am planning to follow the same route as yours when I tackle this. Thank you so much for the informative video
Thank you Justice. Appreciate the feedback. Hope it helped to give you an understanding of the road and what to expect. It is a lovely area to witness (maybe not that much if you have someone with you who is afraid of heights...).
Respek vir daai sin "I LOVE this Fortuner, It is a beast!" I have never owned a Fortuner, but the line resonated with me.. the love for a machine that takes you to amazing places! Mooi Man!
Ja, in mens se eie oë is jou eie goed mos die beste. Haha, maar ja, al die goed behoort jou redelik op meeste mooi plekke te vat. Dankie vir die comment.
i am five trips in to south africa. keep coming back for more. my first camping trip was in 2017 to baviaanskloof. beautiful. visited graaf reinet and camdeboo in 2022. storms river in 2023. next trip fingers crossed in 2024. looking at SA/BOTSWANA/ZIMBABWE in a three week road trip possibly. great video. makes me want to jump on a plane. now.
October 24 we traveled through the kloof with our fortuner pulling a echo 3 trailer. Your video was one of them that made me plan the trip. We went from west to east with our last night in Kudu kaya. LUCKILY we where the only car in the kloof that day, As some of those climbs and turns is a serious issue if there has to be another car from the front. Especially at the Patensie side. Whole trip from Dooringkloof 4x4 - the Patensie gate did take me 7.5hours hahahahahahah. But what a abslolute JOL and thank you for this video it was the reason for going.
@@4WheelingSA Was a absolute blast, Went back now in January again but without the Trailer. Next time you there you have to stay a night or two at Uitspan plaas. Western side just after Baviaans Sleutel. Be safe, Cheers
Nice Video .Have done the trip with a similar sized bush caravan ... but I think that, even though it can be done...it puts too much safety at risk for you and the oncoming vehicle on the narrow parts - I will not do it without the bushtrailer next time
Hi, what was your tire pressure on the gravel? Doing the whole of Baviaanspoort in Dec 2022 bit concerned about the narrow road also have a BL Boskriek, some people said it's a no-no.
No, not at all, maybe because I have driven a lot of 4x4 trails, but I believe it was not really difficult. Just be calm when you have an oncoming vehicle.

Thank you so much. You are welcome in our country.
Really enjoyed this one! That cave is so unique!
Thank you. Yes, will definately do it again. Especially this one since it is completely open.

Very well done. Love the quick trailer packing-up sequence. Nice info about Baviaans.
Thanks Dieter! Glad you have noticed it 😁
Looks very scenic. Bush Lapa should thank you for the free advertising....
It was yes. Think I should send them a invoice? They will appreciate the next video even more… 🤪
Nice T-shirt! 😊 Looks like an awesome trip. Beautiful part of the world!
😁 Thanks for watching. Definately is!
Awesome video once again Henk! Can’t wait to go to Baviaans!
Thanks Ed! Definately worth it. Will just do it over 3 nights, maybe camp somewhere in the reserve and then before and after.
I like the sound effects, nicely done.
Thank you very much! Thanks for the feedback.
Another cool video, well done!
Thank you Paul. Much appreciated.
Going to be going there hopefully in September 🙏
You will enjoy it! Spend at least one night in the middle somewhere. I would have added an extra day.
@@4WheelingSA Planning 3 nights 🤙
@@troopyinafrica You must enjoy it! Wish it was a bit closer for me.

If you are not experienced with towing I will not do it yes. Just taking it slow helps if you have experience. Stop and plan how you will pass.
It's more about the risk factor for others too - fortunately I've done many bushtrailer trips ..@@4WheelingSA

I have used 1.5 bar (Fortuner and Bush Lapa). You will be fine, just look out for the points I have mentioned. Take it slow and enjoy the views.
Hi, do you regret taking an off-road camper trailer to Baviaanskloof, given the terrain?
No, not at all, maybe because I have driven a lot of 4x4 trails, but I believe it was not really difficult. Just be calm when you have an oncoming vehicle.
@@4WheelingSA I'm Walter, many thanks for the heads up! Looking forward to your other travels!
