    considering the 86 is waay older than any cars it raced against, it also had the smallest engine

    Keiichi comes in like, "what are you noobs up to?"

  • @Eqimanthornx

    The AE86 came with a digital speedometer in Japan when the cars were first manufactured. If you notice, Keiichi's speedo is a little different, and you can see his reflection in the camera view of it.

    holy shit, this is the BEST segment of racing that i've ever seen come out of best motoring/hot version. going 3 wide on the back straight was unbelievable! i've never seen that on tsukuba before. although, the way the S2000 was able to pass on the outside during the last corner makes me think he was holding back. there is no other logical explanation for that extreme increase in cornering speed.

      Today's Honda will not be able to afford to build a racing car of the past. Automakers around the world are in the same situation in this regard. Even at that time, it was wonderful to make such a wonderful car.

    Braking/acceleration control. People always seem to miss that the pedals aren't on/off switches. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people run off the road over-accelerating/braking... lol

    anyone know what tires the s2k was using the last turn he took on the outside with high speed in the rain in a car that's known for oversteer that was amazing, and he isn't a guy that is in battles like tsuchiya and orido.

    Exactly. The 16V 4AGEs came out with estimated 125hp. Those VTECs are all 170 + atleast. I really doubt any of those 4AGEs are anywhere near the power of those VTECs. Unless each of them happened to have formula atlantic or N2 spec engines. Highly doubt.

  • @Eqimanthornx

    that makes sense. i was wondering why it looked like the s2000 speedo, but couldn't figure out why his 86 had one. i just figured it was weird lighting that made the 86 speedo look different. i would've kept the 4A

  • @TheInconcinnity

    Yes, AWD will tend to understeer, and RWD will tend to oversteer. That has almost no bearing on how fast they can corner, it's just a characteristic of the drivetrain. A Nissan GTR is often described as having understeer, but it generates the same lateral G's as porsches, ferraris, mclarens etc. Understeer just means you're reaching the limit of the cars cornering ability, it says nothing about where that limit is. You only have to look to time attack to see that AWD is faster in the corners.

    @powerofdreams666 i know theres a f20c 86, when i mean tech, i mean the suspension designs and overall body design of the s2k compared to a 20yrd ae86 (it has better traction because of that and so on)..... the CBY ae86 and ARVOU ae86 are still only 4ag's(1.6 liters) with just over 200HP, i say at least 40% of the battle was due to power and torque differences..... if its not so much power and tech, then what is it al about?? traction?? Layouts?? i still don't really get what u mean that much.

    Show's how much you know about automotive...Anti-lagg aka backfire is only during shifting; holding the gas pedal down at a certain rpm will not murder anything. Some turbo users implement a small turbo to spool up the bigger one so they get the instant boost like you would get from a super charger but with out the parasitic effect a super charger brings.

    AWD is normally quicker to 60. There aren't many cases when rwd will beat awd drive 60 and I have never heard of fwd beating awd to 60. My s2000 clutch has been slipping since I bought it, but I can still pull 5.5-6 second 0-60's.

    late braking technique and outside take over. The driver knew how to use the s2000 quick and depended on the outside then super inside for fast corner exit.

  • @fightingfalconfan
    @fightingfalconfan 12 років тому

    I have yet to see a backfire off the line for boost...I like both personally, But I do like the freedom of boost you get with a turbo. I will never use a super charger for anything.

    Im so glad the DC2 didnt win! It was soo slow in the corners towards the final laps.. He was blocking all the cars then rocketing out on the back straight.. The S2000 got the win from LAST place, goes to show the cornering/braking potential!

    one of the 86's actually has the s2k setup in it. so its balanced out. remember, this is a race between tuned cars, and theyre japanese. theyre likely to downtune to make the race fair on that aspect.otherwise its no fun for them!

  • @rekareaper
    @rekareaper 12 років тому

    Did you ever have one with DOHC? Or just SOHC, because there is a pretty big difference. My stock s2000 beats out any stock MR2 or Celica by at least a second on the quarter mile and only half a second or less behind any stock supra. Put any NSX 97 or later into play and stock for stock, no toyota is taking it.

    @powerofdreams666 AE86s lose in technology and the F20C has 250hp, thats just about right for a ae86. but whats more amazing is the torque of the F20C is just right for the ae86.... i know the s2k is a cornering car(is said to be faster than NSX's on last corner @ tsukuba).... i still don't really get what u mean...

    @dualCranKy ironically before I drove a civic I always to myself they are crap that's it
    I realised after I drove one that they are good cars easy to drive and simple
    I prefer the EK
    I don't know wich one's gonna be the fastest one to me it's the EG because it looks lighter but I don't know
    could be an interesting test to do

    Do you know anything about cars? 4WD does not handle better than a RWD setup, with 4WD you get tons of understeer, in a RWD setup you get a little bit of understeer then oversteer which means you can corner much quicker.

    You can't just downtune a modern 2.0lt with 240 factory horsepower to be equal with a 1983 1.6lt that is producing 180hp at its absolute limit as a race motor.
    Now if they had GT-86s out there, that would be a real comparison because the horsepower gap isnt so huge. The S2000 still has more power, but the 86 has the more modern chassis. Should make for a good race if anyone ever organises it.
