Look, everyone has their own taste about their own personal favourite cars. No need to lash on each other because the FD is better and faster than the RX-8 or vice versa... Everybody has their own opinions and you just have to respect that. If you wanna argue about that atleast come with reasoning why that car is better that car etc... and have a peaceful discussion. I've always loved the RX-7 since childhood, but I also liked the RX-8 aswell because they're both rotaries. There are sure some differences with these two rotaries beasts, but please, don't seek after war only because of which car is more superior than the another...
I love the RX7' FD and the FC convertable turbo2's. I believe the USA didn't get the FC convertable turbo version. Raced against my hubbies Modified FC convertable Turbo 2 a few times, we'd even swap cars to race as well. Love them, love them.
People don't realize that tuners have had 20 years to develop parts/modify rx7's while they only had half that time for rx8's. The rx8 is also a great chassis to work with as you can tell by two of them having the fastest lap times. The sound in this video is music to my ears. I'd love to know if there was a series that raced strictly rotary engines.
Most of the cars on the field, including the RX8s like the Pan Speed which I believe was an NA 2 rotor setup and Revolution had a 3 rotor NA were producing 400HP and above. Pan Speed's green FD usually gets trotted out with 500-600HP and the FEED Rx7 I have never seen compete with anything below 400HP.
I live about a hour and a half drive from Tsukuba circuit. Getting a car as a foreigner in Japan is ridiculously difficult if your not the son of a wealthy businessman or politician. One day though... one day...

The Rev RX-8 was CLEARLY faster than pretty much everything, it's speed is just awesome! A lot of the FD's looked to be pretty loose at the rear on corner exit, curious if it was from power surge or just stiffly setup rear sets. Kei
Yeah the Revolution RX 8 was clearly the best machine. Kinda disappointed the driver was holding it so much, he would have been easily in front and winning, with a more aggressive driving.

Rx-8s with sequential gearboxs and the rx-7s still won! It's a shame so many Rx-7s were molested with awful body kits in the early 00's. Never understood why people put those Veilside kits on them, the stock car with minor cosmetics look much sportier and better in my opinion.

Yeah, sure. Anyway most second hand cars are still working perfectly. Only thing that needs to be fixed is air-con, gauges, and lights. If it's the engine that needs to be fixed, bring it to a mechanic or tuner. Other than that, everything will be fine.
There was a time when people did that in Formula 1/ GT too. Good times. Now that gets you fined 100 billion trillion dollars and a stout point deduction :D
Since money isn't a problem for you, just buy second hand cars. Inspect it first and fix whatever needs to be fixed. I did the same and my RX-7 is working PERFECTLY. Hopefully you'll be able to find one my friend. :)
NASCAR is for watching people crash horribly and then get out of their cars and fight each other on the track. I'll admit that it's good at that department.
As an rx8 owner i would settle with a single turbo or a supercharger even, just something to push it past that magical 300hp mark every sports car desires A super really would be ideal since rx8's make most their power in the upper rpm range.
talking about body, as a stock rx7 is better looking, but once the bodykit is installed,rx8.looks better ithink. but once you modify the car like this vid, its all about mechanic and driver, matter of body or brand is no longer play an important part, just how u tune it...i own an rx8 btw...great car but really lack of engine power n interior space...mazda shud've make it 2 seater instead of 4seater

Rx7.s standard gear boxes rx8.s sequential boxes. Rx8 need big mods to race a rx7
None of those rx7's were remotely close to being stock, all of those were cars were heavily modded.

Interesting, that according to the table at 7:11 despite the fact RX-7 were winners, both fastest laps (1'02) were done by RX-8.

I love Rx 7 but drive a Rx 8. I personally love the 8's look (appearance inside and out) but performance from the 7 is amazing
