In 2022, I still have a 25 year old, 100 series with 200k as the 3rd owner for 7 years, the past owners went on to buy newer Cruisers. Uber luxury, super smooth 4.2tdi & still a dream to drive, unlike the off roaders I've had. Yes, in-between I've tried to do better, but it all failed, X5, Merc G-WAGON, AUDI Q7 with expensive parts & electric headaches. So now keeping simple & straight forward, I now enjoying the KING CRUISER. Friends have the 2020 Range Rovers new ones, every 6 months, they spend more time in the repair garages thus making them, OFF THE ROAD. Only the Kia Sorento 2.2 td was near to the old bus, excellent 38mpg, but failed in comfy seats wife loves this. My grand total in up keep in 7 years, including services & ABS pump only after 25 years, has been £4500 in 60k. BGF Goodyear still have 8mm after 20k Mileage. Also Bio fuel at £1 compare to £1.80 A Dam bargain. LONG LIVE the KING Cruisers.
A bloke on our road has a TD5, it’s immaculate (not used properly ever) I’d say between the disco 3 and 4 I can’t see any differences. Unless the V8 is properly water jacketed the diesel will always win off road ….. until they pop diffs and shafts 😂
Yes and it has not changed if anything it's got worse. Ask me how I know, I have had Disco one reliability poor broke down leaving the dealers, disco two reliability actually quite good. Now new Disco 4 back in 2016 quality poor.

I have an original D1 and 01' LC series 100 and the quality and engineering isn't even close - of course the LC cost 2x new but 25 years and 500k miles and there is no comparison
Speaking positively about the Freelander... well that aged really poorly *XD* . (as [hideous styling aside] Top Gear in about 2004 illustrated that the vehicle was a deathtrap in a crash)

You boys can’t keep away from the Land Rover videos with such wonderful and colourful stories!! 😂😂. Don’t tell me. Your best mates grandfathers neighbour has one which has covered over a million miles without ever needing a single part? If Jackanory drove a 4x4 I’m sure he would pick a Land Cruiser… he’d fit in so well with all the other owners with their bull shit stories!
Great to see this - I own the red TD5 S106KHP in this film
Great to hear, still going strong?
Nicholas Kennedy she is undergoing some refurbishment and should be back on the road this summer, but overall a solid original vehicle.
Nice one! By your name are you also a GWAC owner? Just bought myself a td5 disco ii
Robster, I do. A 200Tdi G-WAC Discovery. It was an engineering quality test vehicle. It has had a full body off restoration. Ultra reliable
With a name like Gwac I’m sure you have a few land rovers
“I suppose I better try the diesel first…”
Wheelspins away, classic Tiff 😆

So true.
And yet everyone wants the Defender and D1
Miss tiff and quintin and the rest.
That reminds me I like to take a Land Rover ride somewhere
Which one is more reliable engine?
The 4.0V8 Petrol or the TD5 2.5 Diesel?
diesel always
24 years later and we still talk about that land rover build quality/ reliability

I get shellshock from freelanders. Have done waaay too many headgaskets
Haha that's funny, yes not much different with the series II.
Land Rover Discovery
Buy 2.0 TD5 GS
Avoid V8 Premium
Needell you plonker
You really want to compare this rolling pile of junk to a LandCruiser? Ridiculous!
