Very poor cars and a shadow of the 190. Ironically, build quality was their worst traits. It bought around Mercedes reputation for chronic rust issues. You do not see any on the road anymore.

I was once offered a Silver Shadow by an old guy round our way. Eventually went to see it, in his garden covered by a tarp. Absolutely rotten to the core, no windows, hardly any interior etc etc asking price - £1500. Would have cost an absolute packet to restore.

First time I ever heard the name Jeremy Clarkson i was devouring MB data and I read he liked driving a 190. I looked at one upon reading what he said but I preferred the 202 and 203 better.

I was driven home from hospital in my mums red 2000 Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon with selespeed. We had that car for 13 years until the differential had started to fall appart. All Alfas but especially the 156 will always be dear to my heart.

America!?!? It had the full underpinnings of a Jag XJ220 - so the English built it AGAIN! A good few of the worlds ‘s very best supercars and race cars are English built and there’s a good reason for that: it rains a lot there and there’s far too much time to be had stuck in a shed building things because it’s a miserable experience to set foot outdoors. I can only imagine that the Italians were good at building cars because they needed to get out of the way of the sun :) :) x

Wow, I had pretty much forgot about that super tranny. It started out as a mk2, then when the mk3 came out, they changed the front for the wedge nose. When souping cars was fun, new and exciting!! How we have moved on ay. (Or grown up)

Mk6 Fiesta was the best looking and didn't rust nearly as bad, since the Mk5 was British built and the Mk6 was German built - I am biased I own one. The Mk5 was nice, but yeah, that front end looks very odd.

Marvellous car, I inherited my granddad's 1995 Skoda Favorit (his last before he died 3 years ago) and he absolutely loved the car all through my life and I have loads of memories when I was very young (it was a different Favorit back then). I can now absolutely understand why he loved it.
