Even after all these years this still brings a tear to my eyes. What a beautiful, warm tribute from one dear friend to another! Joe Brown - a true gentleman, and a pioneering British rocker!
A tear? I’m bawling.
Gets me ever time.
Brilliant, and so touching.
me too
@@MrKenichi22 TIMELESS...WONDERFUL TO LISTEN TO THIS ENCHANTING ARTIST.. LOVE HIM TO BITS...!!!
The most ever beautiful song ever, the words, the voice, the ukulele melody, everything is peace and love, always remembering my mothers soul RIP she always loved the beautiful music and me too. Thanks George!!!!

Just lost my niece ,too brain cancer, she will always be in my dreams, this song gets me through
@@peterberman5816 Jesus man, I'm so sorry!!! Hope you are doing as well as can be
I was there at the concert that night. When Joe started playing this, I'm not ashamed to say I sat in my seat and sobbed. Afterwards my wife and I went down and scooped up some of the confetti. When the CD and DVD came out a few months later, we put some in each case as a reminder of an amazing night.
My daughter and I love to watch that concert together. I can't imagine the thrill to have seen it in person. What a beautiful memory it must be.
@@mollymorrisey6123 Walking into the Albert Hall, we were struck by the strong smell of incense. And then seeing George's 360/12 Rickenbacker (the "A Hard Day's Night" guitar) on stage as if he was present.
@@mcarp555 the love shown at this concert was equal to the love people had for George. The heart of the Beatles and beyond .
Eric hugging Danny 1:26 ❤
Such poignant moment❤️
This is such an important performance for mankind. I hope this stays forever on UA-cam. ❤️
True that. Forever
And womankind.
1:26 Eric and Dhani, now that's love. George was smiling from heaven. So many years, joys, tears, and music. I'll sing this in my dreams.
The perfect ending for the greatest gig ever.
Love Eric giving Dhani a hug during this lovely tribute
Wasn't that lovely ❤
Played this at my mums funeral. I had a rule in life. If my mum said she loved a song , I knew it would be great before I even listened to it. This was one of her favourites ❤️
Wow that’s amazing god bless
Your mum had excellent taste! What other songs did she love? I always like to discover new music (new to me even if it's old).
@@koleberdinoch926 she loved god only knows by the beach boys, we have all the time in the world by Louis Armstrong and madly enough one of her favourite songs was ‘ island in the sun’ by weezer
@@leeashford2259 God Only Knows is definitely up there as one of the best songs ever written.
there´s no better song to say goodbye and remember our mothers RIP
Because of this song. Joe inspired me to buy and learn the ukulele. Never thought I'd be good with an instrument. But I can play well now and I love it. Thanks joe😊
Song for my Mother's funeral.... nothing morbid, just a beautiful song with a wonderful sentiment.
the same song for my Mother´s in heaven
I first heard this song a few months ago on a replay of the George Harrison tribute concert that took place 21 years ago (that’s hard to believe it’s been that long since we lost him) but ever since I love this song and it never fails to make me tear up remembering all the great people we’ve lost, John Lennon, George Harrison and my beloved kind selfless mother just two years ago. I can’t wait to meet and hug her again. Love you mom ❤❤❤❤❤
What a tribute to George. good on ya Joe.
Joe Brown. What you see is what you get. A great bloke.
Never heard this song.. 73… lost my 28 year old son 5 years ago…this is it…💚💚💚. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
George Harrison was a magnificent songwriter... this is a beautiful tribute.
George did n't write this song. It is from 1924!
Joe Brown recorded a version. Olivia, George's wife requested that he close the concert with it
@@karls.6733 Who doesnt know that, course he didnt
@@karls.6733 I never said he did I'm 75 years old I know when this song was written because it used to play on my grandparents (🤦🏼) record player on 78 RPM. And I repeat George was a wonderful songwriter.
@@karls.6733if you read for comprehension, he never said George wrote it….he said George was a wonderful song writer and this was a beautiful tribute.
Me and my dad went to see joe brown a few years back and he dedicated this song to George many a glazed eye that night
A perfect song for George, a wonderful tribute to George.
Just wonderful! So poignant for our George and for those we have loved and lost. Blubbing uncontrollably but so worth it!
Gerorge & Joe were good friends and shared a passion for the ukulele. Joe performs this song perfectly. A great tribute.
Came across this randomly on TikTok. Left me absolutely speechless through its sheer beauty. Along with everyone that I’ve forwarded it to
just perfect. Seeing Eric hugging Dhani briefly, a truly tender moment. This concert was such an outpouring of genuine humanity.
My dad played in a skiffle band in Surrey as a boy in the 50s (with Terry Jones), he was same age most of the big 60s stars. But he was never wildly into pop or anything. He loved Chris Barber, Lonnie Donegan, Mrs Mills. But when this video came out he and Mum ADORED it.
Dad died in April 2024, and I cannot watch Joe singing without bawling my eyes out.
Both touching and a little outside-the-box, just like George was. So poignant and perfect for, as Paul said, “our beautiful friend.”
I recently learned that one of the guys I went to school with died. I was Facebook friends with him for several years and thoroughly enjoyed his musical talent, interesting posts, caring heart and wicked sense of humor. I'm not entirely sure why but this song makes me think of him. I never had any relationship with him other than a casual friendship on social media and a greeting walking home from the bus stop years ago. Rest easy Bob ... YOU sir will be missed.
Fantastic rendition Joe, RIP George we all love and miss you !
My God has it been that long already? Beautiful way to say that your still alive as long as I can dream. Thank's Joe Brown. 75 year old Texan Who misses George, terribly.
My Partner Andy Died in New Year's Day Loved watching the concert for George and this song
Sorry for your loss. Let Andy remain with the sounds of this song, he's by your side for certain - just seek the little hidden things.
Gentle George....my favourite Beatle.
Still sadly missed
Thanks Joe.... beautiful performance 😥
Is it me,or does this man never look any different?
A portrait in the attic maybe, he's a good person.
We need more like him.
So simple, yet so full of emotion. If you're bereaved this song will always touch your heart 😭
Rest in peace George!
We love you! ❤🙏🏻
Well done Joe, proper legend.👍👍
Hear Hear
Joe Brown was the most underated musician of all the talent,at the Concert for George. He is only well known in Great Britian, but I consider Joe Brown, one of the best performers in the modern history of music. He is a very nice man,and a true British Gentleman that loves to perform for all audiances.
makes me cry every time, so heartfelt and pure.
Just a perfect way to pay tribute to their friend, and a beloved musician. Fantastic celebration of life
I always think of my beloved Skye Terrier when I hear this beautiful song 😥
Got a tear in my eyes now.🥲
Joe Brown what a song what a star
Beautiful song almost 100 years old but timeless.
Probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever had the pleasure of listening to in my entire life
Perfect 😘👌❤
I just love how Eric put his arm around Dhani. 😊 ❤❤
I've always been a huge Beatles fan but only knew this song as an instrumental. Guitarists like Django Reinhardt (who I think the world of) would play it at a much faster tempo, soloing all over it. Never having heard the words before I saw "Concert for George" and oh my God... What Joe Brown on his little ukulele did with it? This is absolute perfection, I couldn't stop crying. It instantly became my favorite version of the song, it's that beautifully done....
Just heard this on the radio....... always thought it was neat...... How can anyone not like this it is just excellent, and so glad we can see and HEAR it here.
The perfect song and perfect performance for such an occasion and so beautifully filmed. Choked up even 21 years after seeing it the first time.
Every time I watch this I can really sense the emotion from EC and Joe is so amazing, used to bump into him at a boozer near is home many years ago for a proper lock in, such brilliant times.
Beautiful and as we know, the song and the ukulele were close to George's heart.
Eric Clapton so touching here, just standing there.❣💔
This makes me cry, I love it !
This was a lovely send off for George that took place one year after his death and I love the huge photo of George front and center that shows him young, strong and healthy. He was gorgeous. God rest his soul.
I had the pleasure of seeing Joe in concert , he finished the night with this ! Aww man ! magical ❤
Composed by Isham Jones, with lyrics by Gus Kahn, and published in 1924.
Thank you for crediting the composer & the information..
I just love the way this song by Joe Brown is put together! It's so clever how he's managed to fit in a verse that's usually left out of other versions, especially instrumental. The verse is a little melody that is sung before the chorus. In this case, it is sung softly as a kind of introduction, before seamlessly transitioning into the absolutely amazing chorus that follows. It's so effective!
I couldn't find out if the original version has the same verse, but it doesn't matter! What's important is that Joe Brown's version is different and really effective.
The verse and chorus are sometimes translated as "A-melody" and "Sabi" in Japanese, but they are completely different. Take a look at other standards, like Stardust, for example.
What more does a human need, ....the simple peace this music from Joe brings , calming, soothing .
Let's fuck off the hatreds in this world, try to smother yourself in love happiness and those you love...God bless, one and all .....especially our Joe !
What a heartfelt performance! To all the loved ones crossed over, I'll see you in my dreams❤
So many memories of this wonderful night, seeing Damon Hill & family in the foyer beforehand, the smell of incense everywhere. I was sat up in the gods at the side and could see them waiting in the wings, such as Ringo air drumming along before his entrance. Billy Preston was just incredible. Was a shame Bob Dylan wasn't there, and tragically Lonnie Donegan died a few weeks earlier and had I believe been due to perform. But a night I'll never forget, I treasure the beautiful booklet we were given, and have petals in it that I got from the floor at the end. And this performance still makes me emotional and takes me back there. Tickets were £25 as I recall, seems hard to believe!
These are the moments we live for. thanks for sharing.
Nice one Joe mate 💗
This was my Mothers era. A beautiful romantic classic like so many. Beautiful touching lyrics, I love these songs. Where's the romance today? Jo does a beautiful rendition.❤❤❤
The first song i heard from Beatles was Something. I was 12 and it changed my life forever. RIP Harrison and Lennon.
Concert for George was the best and all members of the band were great, Joe B performs this really well. I've watched this gig 3 times and it always brings a lump to my throat.
Just watched again Concert for George! (And recorded it this time), I'm still sobbing listening to Joe with this last song, I'll see you in my dreams
😢 reminds me of my dad, playing the ukulele and singing this song together, miss those days, treasured memories ❤️
Beautiful song. Sad. Joe Brown well done❤
I want this played at my funeral
I remember this so well how George Harrison show many people how to play ukulele playing this sing l remember well my mum plated this as a child it's a moment in my life l love too ❤💯🇬🇧🎤🤣🎹🎹🎹🎸🥰🎵☺️
For those who don't know Joe Brown, he was a UK chart success in the early and mid '60s. He used to do those British package tours which featured the Beatles and remained a friend of theirs ever since.
This song makes me think of my Grandma that died on September 3 2022
He always ends his gigs with this , always gives me goosebumps and a lump in my throat
i loved george and as many have said in comments about this concert it was 'magical' i am sure george was pulling the strings from above they could not have finished this with a better song given georges love of ukelele and the lyrics of the song itself sung in typical george harrison style, joes singing so beautiful powerful touching with all that stuff raining down from above..
What a beautiful and touching comment ‼️♥️
True. And certainly equal to Lennon & McCartney. How can one band have so many amazing song writers😵💫🤔
@@wanderer1955 George Harrison did n't write this song. It is from 1924.
I never said he wrote it 🔔 end. I said he's as good a songwriter as Lennon and McCartney. And he is.
@@deboraalfa327 Thanks!!😊
Written by Isham Jones and Gus Ķahn in 1926. Just a truly wonderful song.
This is the greatest tribute concert I’ve ever seen!
George was loved! Rip George
😢😢 Magnifique, Poignant 🌟🌟
Regardez Clapton, on dirait un gamin, encore cet air d'enfant , par moments.... il doit avoir tellement de choses qui lui reviennent en tête et dans le cœur !!!
I dreamed about George Harrison the day I began to delve into this song in its chords and melodies before going to sleep. While we were talking he gave me a hug, he seemed so
Beautiful ! Eric and Danni behind joe looking so humble Olivia coming on stage so humbling
All the mega stars and good old Joe Brown steals the show........
He's a top bloke...
Played at my Mum's funeral... Still brings good memories back to me and my family..
I don't think missing someone could be captured so succinctly, a video and song which gets me every time, whether that person you loved has passed on or found something new.. we Miss you George! I miss you my Goegeous Girl.
Lost a dear friend recently. I will sing this at his memorial service.
Darling George, always missed.
What a beautiful tribute by Joe Brown. I was not a particular fan of the Beatles, but I wept when I heard of George`s passing.
I love George and he loved his fans. Thank you for the music 🎶. Rest in Music.
a touching music. It reminds me of the people I have met and now gone forever.
All the expensive musical instruments on that stage and a Ukulele stole the show.
The ultimate tribute from one friend to another R.I.P. George you are already missed. Thank you Joe.
Dreams are a marvelous way God gives us to keep in touch with loved ones, and this 1-derful song reminds us of that.
For love ones-----PERFECT,TOP of the line. True love on and on
At my funeral I want two songs to be played: This one with Joe Brown, and Shiver me Timbers with Tom Waits. They both say it all.
Soon my eyes will close
soothing I love this song
Stunning.
You left off the best part, after Joe finishes, when he escorts Olivia from the stage. George would have loved his dear friend supporting Olivia
One of the most beautiful songs ever. And this guy has the same voice of Clapton!!!
Sincere and beautiful!
Brilliant!
Really a beautiful song and so well done. Miss you guys...
George would of so loved that, God Bless dear one.❤
GOD BLESS GEORGE HARRISON FOR ALL TIMES !
A tiny instrument but such a big heart. ❤
Eric Clapton luce muy convomido, no ha de haber sido fácil perder a un amigo tan cercano como George.
So moving. Beautiful.
This was a song George himself, would often sing & play on the ukelele.❤
Simply wonderful
