The smile on Bucky Pizarelli's face when the lead was passed to the accordion is precious. I loved Bucky's lead, but love how important it was to pass it around and play incredible back up for whomever had "the ride."
i JUST saw that part and scrolled down to basically write the same comment about his smile upon passing to the accordionist... great moment caught on camera.
When you get old Listen to this So beautiful make you feel young ❤ Again Golden years back then 1960 ❤ We had the best back then Music Flims People Artist England ❤❤❤❤ Beautiful proper ladies Thanks u tube always
We were sitting by the campfire at Millersvania State Park and wanted to listen to some Pearl Django. This came up. Hey, guys, we are 75 and 86 respectively...or respectfully. It aint't that old!
Bucky was a true master at his craft and brought joy to many. I just learned of his death and that of his wife’s one week following. My sincere condolences to his children and grandchildren.
Had the good fortune of listening to Bucky live at Palmer Square, Princeton, New Jersey on a fine summer afternoon. What a treat it was! Sorry to learn of his passing 😢 His legacy is great. RIP Bucky we ❤ you.
I know nothing about jazz or swing but what I do know is once Bucky started picking and strumming he physically grew thirty years younger , the power of music.
I'm sure there is, but in this moment of time is there anything more uplifting than seeing an 88 year old playing jazz with the joy of life. Not saying this in a condescending way, but as an grateful thanks of inspiration. Sitting and playing instruments with your family on the porch all those years ago, you, Mr Pizzarelli, continue to bring great jazz through to the next two generations.
Yes, the accordion gets bad press. Here in Ireland we say the definition of a gentleman is a guy who knows how to play the accordion but doesn't. But the truth is that placed in the right hands the sound from an accordion is up there with the best of them.
I sent Bucky his autobio and he autographed it for me. Such a nice guy. Love his comping and simple "to the point" phrasing. Notice all you shredders out there. No high, screaming, notes or sixty pedals to get sound out of your guitar. Just straight, forward, playing of guitar and amp. Bucky is a class act. I hope I can play 1/10th as good as that when I'm 88.
When Talented musicans such as these get together and sound like this, then you realise why the like of the talent shows today can't find showmen of the caliber of these people.
LOVE it !!!!! God bless Bucky. My wife and I had the pleasure to meet him in New York 7 years ago. He is always GOOD, great tone, great feel, great choice of notes and always, always plays what is right and what the music needs... and best of all, he is a fine human being.

Remind me of Saturday at 5 PM turning on Garrison Keillor and listening to this beautiful music. Wow, what a flashback what an incredible group of musicians. Thank you for the gift to all of you.

You will never see anyone pick like Bucky does. Most unique right hand style.
Accordions don't play "Lady of Spain"...people do! Bucky was the bomb...and his son ain't too shabby, either. I simply cannot believe that -- as I type this -- 388 "people" gave this video a "thumbs down". I feel sorry for them...
I used to live in Edmonds Washington, and often would go to the Farmers Market there in Olympia. So many times Pearl Django would be there playing, and I mean it was heavenly to see them, so up close and personal. The fresh produce, and their music was certainly worth the drive. Doctor George Whitehead
There's a million different changes you can play on this tune. But Bucky listens to the changes these guys use. The truest mark of a stellar player, listening!
this is great, i've been singing this tune since the first time i heard it on my parents guy lombardo record. bye bye bucky, see and hear you in our dreams.
I would occasionally see Bucky and his son John and bassman brother at Nobody's Inn in Mahwah NJ in the late 90's .... He's 90 now bless his heart !!! Great player !
Ahhh..like a breath of fresh mountain air...when we shake off this mortal life this is what will be waiting for us in the heavenly jukebox !!! thanx buck &co.. Ty from s.oz
Sheer musical pleasure, brings tears to my eyes, that when you love something, you can sing or play it with such wonderful feelings. And those come across from all these great players. These men are having such a good time, unhurried, enjoying one another's skills and love for the music.
I haven't seen Pearl Django in a long time. I love their music. I've never seen Bucky Pizzarelli perform, although I've heard his music on KPLU. Awesome music! Thanks for posting! :)

Guitar playing aside, Bucky was literally always the best dressed in the room. Grey flannel suit and Gucci loafers; just pure class.

RIP, Bucky 🎸👍🇺🇸
Bucky was the one: he played his guitar almost until his death, but his music will play forever.
After a couple of hours of searching for music and only finding computers, this is a treat !! Real people playing real instruments. Awesome.
You mean no computers, cgi or electronic sounds. Actual people playing what is this world coming to?😃
Ain’t no flies on these boys...masters of their art. WONDERFUL. If you’re not tapping your foot, it’s because you’re deaf.
Arden Dorney ø
He was so talented and such a gentleman. He took time to play for someone who just wanted to sing a certain song in the lobby of a hotel in Brazil.
Gostaria muito de ter conhecido esse senhor. ..
I've never seen someone play an accordion like that before. That was awesome
+stevejmoffett Yes subtle & nice. I usually hate accordion but this was sweet at least to my ears. & of course Bucky is always great to see.
Check astor piazzola
Helps if the accordion has cassotto, to give it that smoother rounded jazz tone.
Go to Paris and have a wander round Montmartre - it shouldn't take too long to find!

I saw Bucky about 25 years ago backing Stephane Grappelli. He hasn't lost a step.
Thanks for watching John!
These guy's are amazing! Fantastic, OMG
How fortunate oh man how fortunate!

such an awesome guy, $20000 guitar with a $20 tuner, pizzarelli will always be a legend
What brand of guitar is that?

Wonderful performance, looked like total fun for all of them, RIP Bucky, your melody plays in my heart man.
Musicians never get old they defy it!
I love it that old guy looks like he's about to fall asleep and instead he kicks some arse.
He recently died of the virus aged 94.
I just love the expression of the accordeonists face when he starts to play his solo, his nods in rythm with this music. A true musician.
Did you notice he had a Wedding Band on his Right Hand? Do you know what that means?
Bucky is playing a 7-string, what a bad-ass! He's still alive at 92.
Dan Gamble @
God bless him! That is a wonderful inspiration for me! Please, Give thanks to him from my heart.Anna
Sadly no longer - we'll miss him...
What a tremendous loss. We've lost another irreplaceable legend here. Rest peacefully kind sir.
The enthusiasm of Pearl Django's musicians is superb. Bucky was a marvel.
LOVE it !!!!! God bless Bucky. My wife and I had the pleasure to meet him in New York 7 years ago. He is always GOOD, great tone, great feel, great choice of notes and always, always plays what is right and what the music needs... and best of all, he is a fine human being.
Love and music can conquer all. The beauty of seeing multi racials and ages in unity, peace, harmony and joy is contagious. Brought tears to my eyes.
So true, music brings people together.
All these old guys are something to get our complete admiration! Bravo!
I am a lifelong engineer musician singer producer I found this in my list... And I'm glad I did!
I like Bucky's 7 string guitar! No wonder he's the best rhythm guitarist in the business.

Solo improvisation lines of three players are so lovely, i like the one of accordian player.

What a treasure to see Bucky playing with a group. Thanks. Loved watching his hands...and his tapping toe.
It's so nice to see the concentration on their faces, such a pleasure to listen to, wonderful
There's a million different changes you can play on this tune. But Bucky listens to the changes these guys use. The truest mark of a stellar player, listening!
Many versions, and they're all good. My late Mothers era, & one of her favourites. I grew to love this era and do so much. Beautiful.
this is great, i've been singing this tune since the first time i heard it on my parents guy lombardo record. bye bye bucky, see and hear you in our dreams.
Somebody help me! I can't stop watching this!!!
Buckys guitar sounds fantastic. Deep lows. Sweet.
I would occasionally see Bucky and his son John and bassman brother at Nobody's Inn in Mahwah NJ in the late 90's .... He's 90 now bless his heart !!! Great player !

Wonderful!. At 88 Buck playing Django better than many boys
David Garcia Bucky was playin’ Bucky! That’s what made his Django so great! :)
Переслушиваю. Просто красавцы.
Sweet. You can see a lifetime of experience in the relaxed way his fingers move from one impossible chord to another.
GOD Bless them all. It reminds me of my Late Grandfather Jaming with the Family.
As a guitarist who plays this in different styles it was the accordion that stood out. Absolutely beautiful
This is amazing!! 88 years young and still goin! Just love this. I love this particular song and the adorable Teddy bear on the Accordion 😍
Love Pearl Django great video of them getting to play with a legend!
Love the band! Great accordion player!
The old man plays wonderful guitar .
Young man...for always
Rest in peace, Bucky. You were one of the greats. Your kids are all pretty damn good too.
Incredible! The youngin's were in total awe of the Old Master. He's lived a year for every key on a piano.
Pizzarelli is a class act, from his foot rest to his tasteful one-chorus solo, he is a delightful unassuming artist.
Good music for a nice nite in the city
It's very beautiful! My heart listen and song with you!!!
Marvellous musicianship..!! ;-)
Ahhh..like a breath of fresh mountain air...when we shake off this mortal life this is what will be waiting for us in the heavenly jukebox !!! thanx buck &co..

We don't need to wait. We already have it here in this life.
They make it look so easy! Great musicianship and so reminiscent of Stephane Grappelli - I understand he played with him.
Sheer musical pleasure, brings tears to my eyes, that when you love something, you can sing or play it with such wonderful feelings. And those come across from all these great players. These men are having such a good time, unhurried, enjoying one another's skills and love for the music.
Great!
Wow!!! Thank you for raising my JOY level a 1,000 times over. Bless....
I'm smiling through my tears.
Pure musical genius at work! Love it how he keeps the original melody in view at all times. Jazz at it’s best.
Super , super, I did wacth 20x times !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
