I can’t believe how many thumbs down joe got for this lovely little song, to some it’s very meaningful to those who relate it to someone they have lost . This generation of talented musicians are dying out and the generation of today don’t get it unless there’s some kind of electronic beat box or sample machine which is sad. A credit to joe brown for an amazing true Britain performance.
The sad truth is that we have talented young musicians today as well. But they never get a contract by the "mainstream" music industry or at least very rarely`?
Gazztube, i fully agree with your sentiment on todays so called musicians who rely on this music software to make so called music, couldn't play an instrument let alone recognise one if they tried LOL.

Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe
I got here from the Concert for George. I had never heard this song before, but now I can't stop listening to it. It's absolutely beautiful. This fellow is blessed to have so many people love him. I can't believe how fine these comments are about him. What a lucky man...a genuine man.
This song is usually the last played and is in memory of his dearly beloved wife who died with cancer, those who gave a thumbs down are actually jealous because they are not and will never be as good as Joe on a range of instruments.
Cant sleep at the moment gone 3a.m I lost our only child last year and my hubby 12years ago.I play this lovely version of see you in my dreams by Joe moves me so much.I have seen him several times a great musician and I think a genuine man xx
Of course you will miss her every day Merv' but without getting hokey about it there is overwhelming scientific evidence that we will all be reunited with our loved ones. So carry on missing her but look forward to that wonderful day when you are with your beloved wife again
I played it at my best friend’s funeral. I got through the performance but shed a bunch of tears after it was over. Mr Brown closed the George Harrison tribute with this tune and it was perfect.
i once told my wife that is she dies before me i would play this for her, i love here so much , how could i ever live without her,. today i have realised a lot and have learned its time to enjoy what we have, its there in front of you for the taking, you just have to see it,
He is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I was working at the Tramshed Theatre in Woolwich, when I was the theatre photographer and general dogsbody. I had the honour of walking onto the stage to inform him that he was now a grandad and his daughter had just given birth to a beautiful baby daughter.
The people who put a thumbs down clearly haven't listened to the lyrics! This is not just for George it's for all of us to remember our loved ones and when you go to bed hoping to have that dream about them. Just enjoy a lovely song from a beautiful instrument🙏
I agree 100%. Paul's voice is sadly gone, though I will love him until my dying breath. But Joe's voice is 95% of what it was as a youth. I love him so.
you all probably dont give a shit but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe
I came here from Concert for George... I started out watching this video almost in tears from laughing so much and ended the video with tears rolling down my cheeks from a beautiful song. I can't think of any other video on UA-cam where that has happened to me. Thank you.
I'm now 74, and when I was at school I was a member of Joe Brown's fan club. Even at my young age Joe made an impression on me which I've never forgotten. He is a national treasure. What a talent !
As an American, his English accent is absolutely delightful.... wonderful! I loved Joe since I was a kid and he's effortlessly charming, adorable and charismatic.
One of Britain's greatest talents and never lost the art of entertaining over 60+ years. Good instrumentalist as well and very funny person. GOOD ON YOU JOE!
For someone who worked in the music industry for years (US record labels and management), it pains me to admit that Joe Brown had never come on my radar. Then, I saw him perform this song as the closing performance of the Concert For George. I was in a heap of tears on the sofa. It was SO beautiful and perfect for remembering the 'quiet Beatle'. Having taken up the ukulele last year (and knowing George's love of the instrument), I committed then and there to learning this wonderful tune . It's not a beginner's song but every minute I've spent hashing out the chord changes has been worth it. It's now one of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you Joe for honoring the beloved Mr. Harrison with such grace and charm. You're a gem!!
When you learn the chords you begin to really appreciate the beauty of this tune. Like you say, it is not a beginner's song, but it is well worth the effort to "hash out the chords".
Always makes me cry too Karen. And I'm dead butch(ish). It is sentimental, but exactly the right side of the line. Oh, I am still crying.... I need a hanky.
Joe always deserved a huge applause like this one. He was one funny, talented performer. Sad we in the USA never recognized him. He should have been right in the midst of the so called "British Invasion" !
Joes rendition of this song at the close of The Concert for George still brings tears to my eyes. Thank you Joe, your love for your friend clearly comes through. May God look after you and your "bruvvers".
Those who thumbs down on this may not have waited for the song to start! Today’s musicians don’t talk to the audience! Joe was part of the audience and the audience was part of the show !
Joe first met George Harrison on tour in the early 60's, Joe was higher on the bill. He saw George using his guitar. He wasn't best pleased, and told him so. They became great friends. of course, Joe closed The Concert For George' with this song. A fine musician and looks better every time you see him.
Saw Joe in the 1960s in Northwich, Cheshire and he played Hava Nagila, while having his guitar behind his neck - something I will never forget. Saw him a few years ago in Beverley and he played Hava Nagila and mentioned he can not play it behind his head anymore !!! Great guy - Dark Town Strutter Ball was my favourite.
Joe is a hidden gem....all polished and shiny but still waiting for many ears to discover his humor and talent. Beautiful...Thank you Joe...Bravo! Joe, I want to see you live on stage at your concert! London is a long way away from the states but one day, it will happen!
It must have been in the late 1950s. Me and a couple of mates were walking along the sewer bank (very large pipes covered over with turf) one morning and this lad came along with some greyhounds. Never spoke, just nodded and I thought, "What a great haircut". Some years late I saw Joe onstage and it was the same bloke same haircut. Wish I'd said hello and we might have had a few words. My loss.
Who in the world are these sad little people giving this a thumbs down. This fellow did a stunning job on this beautiful old song. It is more than sad that you can't enjoy this.
I find it more sad that you are focussing on that. Who cares? Ignore that and enjoy the music for yourself. If you are always emotiinally affected by the words and actions of others you will be controlled by others for ever. Just breathe and let it pass. Enjoy the world.
Joe is a wonderful musician and a real showman. I have grown up with his music (and others) from the 50s and 60s and in my opinion, they don't do it like that any more, mores the pity. Sing on for many more years Joe your kind will not be seen again. Johnny Kidd, Freddie, and the Dreamers, Gery Marsden, and the rest of the British invasion stay with me from my childhood, never beaten or replaced.
Just discovered this guy. What a talent. Too bad he's not as popular over here in the states as he is in the UK. I'd rather hear his music than some of the trash they put out over the airwaves here.
Credit well deserved - a beautiful song beautifully sung - with a lovely gentle ukulele sound - Joe is a decent bloke - all he is interested in is making other people happy - he certainly is !
🍀🇺🇸🌿 I too just discovered Joe since he wasn't part of the amazing British Invasion here in the 60's. He truly is a GEM!💗 So happy when his mates joined hands for their own goodbye and how the audience roared their approval. The last 2 guys raising their hands as they left the stage was a special bonus! I love them all!💗
Oh, what a lovely song written and performed in 1924!!!. I remember that in my youth during the 50's you sometimes heard it playing on the radio, but after the start of the 60's I never heard it again. Joe is a real Super Star and the way he ends his act proves it. He could play and sing 'Three Blind Mice' and still drum up a great audience reaction. Good on you Joe!
Joe Brown is a very talented musician and performer . He was a big mate of George Harrison and they played the ukele regularly at George 's parties. He is brill
When I first heard and saw Joe Brown I had an instant liking for his personality and music. He breathed new life and meaning this wonderful old song. It's cathartic. On the Concert For George he made this his own as he does here. It will always be a Joe Brown song to me. That's a rare thing for me.
I lived in London back in the very early 60's and Picture of You was a big hit. I've never forgotten it, never forgotten Helen Shapiro's Tell Me What He Said, either, and I periodically come back to UA-cam to listen to both and remember wonderful times, wonderful times and the Cuban Missile Crisis! Ha!
I remember Joe being one of the stalwarts of “Oh Boy” in the late 1950’s. Always had a huge smile! AND could play the guitar too!!!! Scousers can smell a phoney from three countries away! It’s testament to Joe’s personality and good heart, that we scousers love him as one of ours!
In the very early 70s we owned a small hotel in Blackpool. Joe was appearing there and he and his bruvvers stayed with us for a few nights. What a lovely man. We had three little girls who fell in love with him and he gave them a lot of his time. Now I live in Canada but I will never forget Joe. One of life's beautiful souls.
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe
We loved the Beatles. And now its hard not to love lovely highly talented Joe Brown. With see you in my dreams. And that delightful Sicilian wedding waltz, that the old father dances with his daughter..
BRILLIANT!!!!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!! Joe Brown......what a great performer. Love this song and it couldn't have been done better by none other than him.
I`ve listened to this song so many times and it makes cry every time. It was played at my mums funeral ( as requested) by mum. Bless her heart xx. Joe, you`re a good`n God bless xx
i just realised what makes this SO SPECIAL.it's his ability to show us his vulnerable heart and we see his humanity and the love that comes out of it with his special tenderness . very few people can do this.
Many of the older folk on here who were members of the Joe Brown Fan Club in the early days will remember my mate Stan Laundon. Stan who was from Hartlepool used to run the fan club in the early days and is still a big friend of Joe`s.
I have just discovered this , I lost my wife in September 2021 and I miss her everyday.
I'm so sorry for your loss x
Isn’t Joe Brown the most likeable person in show business 💓

Many of the older folk on here who were members of the Joe Brown Fan Club in the early days will remember my mate Stan Laundon. Stan who was from Hartlepool used to run the fan club in the early days and is still a big friend of Joe`s.
this was performed by Jo at the end of the George Harrison Tribute Concert (November 29th 2002) was a lovely tribute to close the concert.
Its a wonderful tribute from a brilliant bloke.....
Should be Sir Joe by now, he’s a national treasure.
