- These are the best pizza restaurants in Albuquerque. Our pizza review is on point with no bias. We got 5 strangers from meet up to volunteer to taste pizza and rank them best to worst. We got our selection of pizzerias from the top 5 on yelp and google. We asked all the pizzerias to give us their best pizza.
#5 Farinas pizza was very thin and very soggy. It had a strong sausage flavor and big grilled onions.
#4 Amore - this pizza has been really good in the past and im not sure why they gave us a corn pizza for the review. There pizza is cooked inside a brick oven and the pizza sauce is homemade topped with mozzarella balls melted on top.
#3 Richie Bs pizzeria Had the biggest pizza I have ever seen.Not only was it the worlds largest slice of pizza but it tasted really good at the same time.
#2 Giovanni's Pizzeria was very good and they put the cheese over all the toppings to keep them from falling out. Once ranked in the top 50 in the world this pizza places 2nd in Albuquerque.
#1 Pizza castle had the best pizza recipe ! With its sliced sausage and perfectly grilled onions its classic pizza dough recipe this pizza came out steaming and I dont have a single bad thing to say about it.
Pizza Hut doesn't compare to these places.

Not used to green chili on her pizza?? Definitely not a native New Mexican!!!
Firenze, Mario's, Golden Crown, Gino's, and Saggio's are also great spots in Burque.
How is it that some chick that lives in New Mexico has never had green chile on pizza? Has she never had pizza before? I mean, it is New Mexico. Green Chile Pizza, green chile burgers, green chile roasted in a bag, green chile egg rolls, green chile omelets. They put green chile in everything down there.
Most of it is pretty good too.
That couple were traveling nurses from Florida working at UNM to fill staffing vacancies. Neither had ever tasted green chile until that day. Probably not the best to judge our prize crop huh? My bad!

I knew the original owner Teresa. When she owned it and when it was across the street of the current location, Pizza Castle was the best! I personally don't think it is anymore.

At every pizzeria we asked for their best combo style pizza and that is the one the person at the register said was their best!

Side note, I'm surprised to see others mentioning Saggios... I've given them a few tries, but so far, quite flavorless. Maybe I should try again....
Most of those you mentioned are not locally owned. When possible, we always try to keep it local and support our community.
@@albuquerquesbest Of course and I would expect nothing less than that. The only thing is that 100% of the restaurants that I mentioned are indeed local Albuquerque restaurants, even Dions which has expanded their locations. But all local.
If you revisit this concept you should hit up Gino's, Amadeo's, and Goodfellas
No village pizza on this list is crazy. Also pentagram lady ruins the video for me.

Mariscos Altamar, we were visiting friends who live right around the corner from Pizza Castle and so I called in an order to see if it was as good again as it was the day we reviewed it. I had never been to Pizza Castle and I was born here. Surprisingly again, it was as good as the first time. My real estate office is right by your restaurant and where I grew up. My wife is somewhat of a cannoli connoisseur. I'm going to have to go get a couple at Giovanni's.
The recipe is that of Giovanni's wife, Joanne, and she use to make all of the cannoli but time has taken its toll and today she makes sure they are following the family tradition and recipe, but she has to stay home and take care of him.

Turtle mountain brewery is my personal favorite. But i live close, so yea. I've had several of the others with great experience. But proximity helps.

Giovanii's pepperoni green chile has always been my favorite in ABQ.
Giovanni's pepperoni, green chile and olives is mine! My vote was Gio's first and Pizza Castle second, but the majority of the tasters made the final decision. I really prefer a thin crust with lots of sauce and green chile, which is hard to pull off due to the amount of liquid that will make it soggy, but Gio's does it!

If you have to fold it, then it's not pizza it's a taco
So, Rozario (owner of Giovanni's that was murdered and one of my best friends), swore that the best pizza was one where you could fold it and eat it without making a mess. I, on the other hand, love sitting in the open patio of Village Pizza in Corrales and eating Greg's Combo where you need a fork to eat two thirds of the slice.
You guys got it wrong. Chicago pizza on Eubank and Montgomery is #1. Give it a try it's the bomb

We tried castle pizza and to be honest I think the people judging may be family because I was not impressed at all one place the judges missed was urban brewery on menaul that pizza is pretty good

It used to be. It isn't the same as it once was, for some reason. Something in the sauce and/or dough recipe has changed.

Never heard of these places but might think of going to Pizza Castle and Giovannis. I always been going to Pizza Hut and Dions.

Choices were made by the highest reviews found online. Be sure to go on Google, at the least, and give them 5 stars!
I think if you are going to evaluate a pizza place you should get a "normal" pizza with only a few toppings at each place at a minimum and then bolster that with a "weird" pizza if you want so it's more of an apples to apples comparison.
We were asking them what pizza they are known best for and ordering whatever they stated was their best.
I think Punchyz pizza at Brew lab 101 has a great pizza as well.

Undercarriage, that is a great description, lol. Yes, to many wet ingredients can do that. Village Pizza in Corrales does that, and I eat it with a fork with no complaints as the artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes make that pizza taste great even soggy.

Aldo’s, Rio Rancho is my favorite in ABQ gino’s!
Rio Rancho was entirely off our Albuquerque's Best radar in the beginning but with the changes we are making we are going to expand into the ABQ Area which will now include Rio Rancho. Thanks, and we will check it out.
